Fantastic audio setup for this. Thank you for sharing. I plan on the first upgrade after the suspension to be the exhaust and Delkevic seems to have a very nice selection of options for the Himalayan.
Going on sound alone, myself prefer the slip on with original pipe/cat. However, when considering weight savings and better performance, the full system wins.
It's a winner for sure. The Euro 5 pipe doesn't seem to be so rough looking. You're right, there's definitely a big weight savings. The sound improvement is marginal, but I do like it better. 😁
ADV Mike: May I ask, how are the header pipe and silencer discoloring? Is it the "bluing" that normally occurs with stainless, or is it something else? Thanks again for adding so much to the RE Himalayan knowledge base!
Great question - After 1000 miles with the exhaust I still love it. My main “reason” for installing was that I needed clearance for my Giant Loop bags. The exhaust is cheaper than buying a set of hard panniers, but not if you’re considering buying the bags too. The sound, weight savings, additional punch, and looks are also advantages over the stock exhaust. I’m glad I did the install. But it’s probably smarter to buy a set of hard panniers if you really want to tour.
Took me a minute to figure this one out! No - The 9" muffler doesn't support the spark arrestor. Link below: It does fit several of the larger cans. delkevic.com/spark-arrester-baffle-for-14-18-oval-mufflers/
Does anyone know if a decat pipe will pass NYS motorcycle inspection? Would really love the pipe and silencer set from Delkevic versus just the silencer. Great value and great sound. Thanks for the great install and sound comparison clips! Much respect and thanks from a new Himi owner.
@ADV Mike Hey! Good news! Found out from two 100 percent reliable sources that the Delkevic decat pipe will not affect passing a NYS motorcycle inspection "at all." Of course, that's for the time being! I will definitely hang on to the original in case regs change suddenly.
@@memories5319 Ha! no worries. I think I got a slight increase in fuel mileage, mostly from shedding weight on the exhaust and letting her breathe better. That said, I don't have enough data to "prove" any of that.

Based on these recordings the full system sounds so much better than just the slip on. Very nice.
Thanks! Definitely a deeper, richer tone.
Best salesmen for Delkevic I've seen. Sold me for my HImmie
Glad I could help. Enjoy that new exhaust! :D

Thanks! They seem to have the best offering for the Himi’s. I’m glad I got it.
FINALLY a real one test sound
Thanks for sharing! The attention to detail 👌🏼
Much appreciated!

Excellent comparison video!
Thank you!

Normal bluing. I actually kinda like it better now. 😁
Good results concerning sound ! But is it worth the money considering stock exhaust is still good ?
Thanks for the video :-)

Hello . Is there a difference in performance between the 14 or 9 inch muffle?
You mentioned a spark arrestor? On their website, they only show one for the 14" and 18" cans. Doe's it fit the 9" also?
Took me a minute to figure this one out!
No - The 9" muffler doesn't support the spark arrestor.

Congrats on your new Himi! I don’t “know” if it will pass emissions without the catalytic converter, but I doubt it would. Good luck!

Sweet! (and surprising) :D
Do you need to add something like a Fuel X Lite or does the original ECU sufficient with the changes?
Good question - I don’t have a fuel controller now and it runs great. I do plan to get a Fuel X Pro in a few months.
No tuning is required right..
Correct - I have not applied any ECU updates. That said, I've heard several reports that the Powertronic FuelX Pro is well worth the $179.
Is mileage increased or decreased with the mids?
Got a slight bump to about 57mpg. But I ride pretty aggressively. I’m not sure I’d call that good data for comparison. 😁
@@advmike sorry about the auto correct. I meant mods not mids. With the modifications do you use more or less fuel?

Lose any horsepower?
I think it gained some punch, especially between 3~5K RPMs.
Hi. Is there a difference in performance between the 14 or 9 inch muffle?
I’m not sure. I’ve only ridden with the 9”. I think the 14 would be a little heavier but probably a touch quieter.
