  • I applied for the Chase Sapphire Preferred Credit Card. At the time of recording, it currently has a sign up bonus offer of 80,000 Ultimate Rewards points when you spend $4,000 in the first 3 months. Since I'm under Chase 5/24 and the card has a $95 annual fee, along with using a referral bonus, I decided it was the right card for me, so watch me apply!

    Walked into one of the chase branches near me and applied in house, today 90k sign up bonus. This is my Second personal Credit card application with 2 business cards already.
    Approved with 72k self employment income with Fico 741, trans union 773, Experian 793
    Credit line approved for $16,900
    Can’t wait to rack in those points for travel!

      That’s awesome! The 90k offer looked really solid and I’m glad you got approved. We’ve been enjoying this card ever since my wife got approved

    nice, i got denied.
    i’m 4/24, $100k income, 750 credit score, 100% payment history.
    the denial letter reasons were unhelpful and calling recon twice still didn’t help. each time i received different reasons than the initial denial letter

      Oh man, that's rough. Honestly, if it were me, I'd call the reconsideration line again lol. I don't like accepting their "no" when I truly think I meet all of the requirements

    Nice! I'm new to Chase and this is my first Chase credit card. I instantly got approved on my end too with $20K credit limit, but now idk if imma be able to meet the 4K spending in 3 months, oof.

    • @JacobsPointsAndProfit
      @JacobsPointsAndProfit  Год назад +4

      Congrats on the approval! $4,000 is certainly a lot in 3 months. There are little tricks to meeting the minimum spend. My favorite might be paying rent with the card (if you’re able to). My complex charges a 2.5% fee but I’d consider the $1,000+ in free travel worth the extra $50 I pay in rent if I couldn’t find any other way to hit the minimum spend

      @@JacobsPointsAndProfitdo you have to carry over the 4k balance or how does that work? or can you pay rent, pay it off right away, and repeat until everything adds up to 4k? that’s the confusing part for me tbh

    • @JacobsPointsAndProfit
      @JacobsPointsAndProfit  11 месяцев назад

      @@mercibeau you never need to carry a balance with a credit card to meet a minimum spend. You can pay your card off right away if you want and still meet the spend requirement

    Congratulations 🍾 I am currently at 3/24; but passed on CSP right now since I won’t be able that minimum spend for the bonus. I will wait for Q4 to apply for the holidays. I am sure the elevated offer will come around once again.

    • @jakeizlove
      @jakeizlove Год назад +1

      @@JacobsPointsAndProfit I haven’t applied for a card in more than 5 years and only have one inquiry. It would have to be something with a cash-back that significantly outperformed Chase, Citi, USAA, or AmEx BCP.
      I don’t use the BCP often enough to justify its annual fee. At this point, paying better attention would serve me more than another card, LOL!

    Awesome, but the only thing that gets me is the 25% when non-taxable income is included. So if I have an SSI payment of $914/month (so $10,968/year), would that turn to be $13,710/year?

    • @JacobsPointsAndProfit
      @JacobsPointsAndProfit  Год назад

      I believe you're correct with that assumption. I don't have any non-taxable income, so I haven't needed to use the 25% calculation, but I just went over the application again and I think it sounds right
