And this is by know means meant to seem disrespectful but if 75$ is to much for a au on a at the time premium travel card I don’t think your the target demo

Downgrading to a Chase Freedom $0 annual fee might be a good option to keep the credit limit and age without a cost.

      oh good point!

Agreed! Downgrading will keep history intact and if she decides to jump back into the Chase ecosystem with a sapphire preferred, she can transfer the points earned from a freedom flex/unlimited to that sapphire card for travel.

Never ever, use Chase for booking traveling. Book directly and you keep your status with whomever.

The great thing about Chase is there are no annual fee downgrade options. But yeah booking through a 3rd party is never as good as booking direct. Sometimes you find out the hard way. (I know I did!)

But who gets to use the points from the Gold Card: does it all go to the primary account holder or do you keep it for any purchase each individual authorized user has made?

Part of the $75 additional fee for AUs is they get their own priority pass membership. I agree the CSR isn’t worth it in the current iteration. CSP/CFU are better options for almost everyone.

The Amex cash rewards plus from USAA is a must have. Not too often that you see gas and groceries as part of the multipliers. The cash you earn is very flexible too making it stand out from other issuers. only downside is the low spending caps.

USAA's service and overall products offered has gone in the dumps over the past decade... There's truly nothing special about them now, unfortunately.

how long did it take to reach united premier 1k status? do you have to start over each year to earn status with united? i cancelled my CRS during the pandemic and just got the chase united card now that i will be doing some traveling again. hoping to work my way up the united ladder but it seems like i'd have to travel a lot and my job only allows me to fly economy.

This is a great video as your points are very valid. I’ve put a lot of thought and time looking into the CSR. But it’s just how you summed it up, the AF is just too hefty for what the card offers. Although it is an amazing card, the CSR definitely needs to be revamped.
