This is so beautiful and I love that Billie has grown up in the spotlight but knows when to let others have their moment... Never does she overshadow Phoebe's vocals, just complements them, because even though it's Billie's show it's phoebe's song. I love it.

i need. need. NEED. this version professionally recorded and uploaded on spotify. genuinely for so many reasons, this is a supreme version of this song. the contrast between an older and more jagged, slightly numb and tired post-traumatic-experience voice like phoebe singing it versus the younger and sweeter sounding vocals billie brings to the table..... insane... made me cry recounting some of my own experiences. not to mention their voices are breathtaking on their own, but together?? absolutely ethereal.

This is such a special musical moment. It made me cry for how beautiful it is :')
I performed 500 shows starting in '79 and performed US/UK until I stopped cold on March 11 2000. Discovered Phoebe in '17 with Stranger in the Alps (thanks WFUV!) and saw her at Asbury Lanes in '18. I was inspired. Now I'm back, writing, recording and performing... I don't think this happens without the awakening due to Phoebe, her band and all of her incarnations with other players. Ironically, my next show is March 11 2023, 23 years to the day from my last concert and just 30 miles from where I last saw Bridgers. Phoebe, I don't know if you'll see this, but thank you.

This is so cool, I love how excited the crowd is and how excited Phoebe is. Going from being overwhelmed by this to selling out Madison Square Garden with boygenius less than half a year later must have been a trip :D Billie's voice is perfect on this too -- they have really complementary ranges, and I agree with the people up (down?) thread that she does a really lovely job of just letting Phoebe have the moment and pitching in. She seems 100% just as excited for her to be there and it's super endearing.
(Also there's this little moment they both have looking at each other with "you were in a band when I was born" that's just. clearly. ....women in the music industry having Gone Through It with guys who want to take advantage of them Solidarity. Which, fuck yeah. If a good thing can come out of that BS good.)

I cannot express enough in words that these ladies are my everything my two favorite musicians of all time on earth and I've seen them live in the past two years post apocalypse in the front row every time theyve both came to NY weather at gov ball in 2021 or at their own concerts in 2022 this past year,went every night they were here and I've always been in the front row sections feeling connected to them Ive looked into their eyes I love them so much I wish was there crying right now if I wasn't on a cruise ship contract as a performer I would've been there and I would've actually combusted I love them so much this means so much to me I literally feel like they're a cosmic forces now they finally sang together I feel like this is going to bring some sort of insane energy into the world ugh WOW I love them so much
