I’ve watched this version a couple dozen times already, it’s incredible, but ironically it makes me appreciate the original even more - Phoebe’s voice always seems to have a hint of empathy and forgiveness, even on scathing songs like Motion Sickness, but Lucy has an ability to sing beautifully while also conveying anger and contempt, and it’s perfect for this song
lucy's voice is so sweet and nice and always loaded with a switchblade. like. if someone didn't speak english they'd have no idea she sang about gouging the eyes out of an abusive father - super pretty. and deadly. love her.
@@angela218 their father/son/Holy Ghost costumes kinda fit their personalities, the more I think about it - Lucy can often be angry/spiteful, like the Old Testament god, Phoebe is more willing to forgive, like the New Testament god, and Julien is the visceral emotional center of the group, who had to go through a lot of really awful trials and tribulations to get to this point in her life, like our boy Jesus
I love how stoked she is that she gets to sing this absolute masterpiece, and I love how you can tell the audience is too. We're all just collectively so happy that Lucy wrote this and this is overall golden content I'm glad I'm alive to witness. So cool
