If she puts even one jazz standard on her next album, more people will hear it than have heard all the jazz crooners collectively since the other Billie passed away. You must know that jazz has become a niche genre with a relatively small, but very dedicated following. I would like to see jazz receive more exposure, personally.

I've said this once, and I'm gonna say it again. Billie it's not a pop singer! She has some great pop songs, but she got the soul of a jazz singer. Songs like my future, I don't wanna be you anymore, getting older, didn't change my number showcase how her voice suits this kinda of music. She has a fucking bossa nova song in her new album, this is her territory for sure.
I feel like there’s a misconception that she has a small range or is simply just a “breathy falsetto singer”. Now yes, it seems she is most comfortable, but this kinda show cases a different sound that she isn’t always about. It’s cool, and it makes her a bit more impressive
She kind of did that to herself though. She almost never sings outside of the breathy falsetto so why would anyone know she can do anything else? Ocean Eyes, her first big song, wasn't the breathy falsetto so if you knew that song you knew she could solidly sing but if you didn't know that song then it's no surprise people only expect her to do the breathy thing.
