I'm glad you have mentioned the center console and how bad it looks and probably feels, the dashboard does look very low rent even if its finished nicely , I noticed other channels keep salivating over everything and they kinda forgot they need to stay focused and bring the good and the bad points.....
This is a huge improvement in design, interior size and safety features from the previous Alza. For the price of RM77K, it is definitely worth buying. Now it's only the power and ride handling to find out. Good work Perodua !

The new Alza is almost perfectly suit small family or young family like couple with 3 or 4 kids age. Take it as 5 seater car is extremely comfortable as the second row can all the way slided to the back. The last row folded down is giving huge space to put stuffs. Many people may question that the new Alza sitting 7 adults is cramped. Of course it is cramped because it is B segment MPV unlike Serena or Voxy which is considered C segment MPV but price is DOUBLE of Alza AV. Let said the young family of 5 consists of 2 adults, 3 kids in 12, 8 and 6 years old. It is extremely comfortable to fit into Alza. Even if taking grandparents for putting, 2 old folks sitting in the middle row with 1 kid and another 2 kids sit at last row. It is completely fine even for long journey. Some said what if kids become teens and bringing grandparents together not comfortable. Yes it is. But the truth is how many 17 or 18 years old children still wanna follow parents for outing. Plus they reach the age of getting driving license, get them second hand car and drive themselves is more practical. Mind you that even Alphard and Vellfire aren't very comfortable to sit 7 adults for long journey.

This shares the same interior layout with the veloz. pls check again, the veloz has the same blank part beside the push start button. Lower spec alza has a compartment at the same place because it shares the same interior with avanza not the veloz

I wish the AV version center console has storage compartment below the Start engine button like X & H variant as opposed to side center console storage as well as the infotainment head unit on the AV for the H variant . Other than that, it's a good successor
I went to test drive and also feel disappointed no telescopic at first. But after adjust my sitting surprising I can row to forward in comfort position even though my height above 180cm. The designer is smart designing the driver side can fit long leg without blocking. Usually for 180cm height driver have to slide almost to the end but by then without telescopic will be a problem where driver hand position is also straight.
Dashboard looks like a cheap low rent dated version of the X50. Ride and handling needs to be tested first, especially at higher speeds. Other than that its all good.
I find the low speed follow functions weird in this car, does other A.D.A.S. such as Honda Sensing uses the same concept ? why not make it fully automatic rather than having to press a button or pedal ? still kind of useless but hey at least its something.
Same goes to any car that have level 3 safety sistem such as hyundai. They will give indicator or aural warning to inform front car is moving. You still have to press the paddle or button to continue.
No, all car manufacturers do the same. If the car in front of you run a traffic and your car move together mean you are offence of traffic rule. Car cannot straight follow the front car if our car still can't recognise traffic light sign. So it is completely nothing wrong on Perodua as all other the same.

The team designing "gear up" need to get back to design school. How could you place a DRL at the lower lip of the front bumper, that location is the easiest to get damaged. Pot holes / speed bumps, stone chips, parking ramps at condos. I notice the back seat are not folded flat now? Dash is a fingerprint + dust magnet, many parts recycled from Ativa + digital cluster meter too.

Good lord... this car is so cheap yet very good compared to those twins of ours in Indonesia, Avanza and Xenia. Just look at their safety features, ABSOLUTELY SUCKS compared to this. And yet, you guys get everything from ASA PSDA and 6 airbags on top of everything for 75k RM. We get the shittiest one for 295 mil IDR or 87k RM. Even our Veloz, the comparable one to this, have even 330 mil IDR or abt 98k RM. Please don't complain you Malaysians... come to Indonesia to feel the suckiness and the expensive prices.
Perodua's interior always look so cheap. Myvi, Axia, Alza, all have the same issue. Too angular. They don't even hide the gaps around the airbag cover!

Perodua doesn't put covers on engines I think. Myvi is also messy under the hood.

For those who complain cramp and always taking 7 adults I suggest them takes Hyundai Starex as it is roomier than most MPV available in Msia.
