Proton already said they eyeing to compete with toyota and honda. Well, if u see all their new model from geely. All are sub 100k. Only old proton model still had sub 60k(persona, iriz) sub 30k++(saga).

Geegee now only I realize there are people out there doesn’t appreciate red interior. Red interior define classiness and sporty. In many brand especially branded brand like Porsche you have to add extra for red interior. Guess only rich would appreciate that
The leather seat cover actually looks better than the red full leather seat 🤣 imo. I love a bit of red on the seat but not THAT much red and the brighter tone doesn't go very well with the look and feel. Exterior wise it felt weird the first time I saw it in photos, but it's growing on me after watching this walk-around intro.
I love the need headlight design. Proton needs to up their game as their recent facelifted Iriz and Persona lacked the safety that the X70 and X50 provide and given that the Myvi received new safety features even though it is still relatively new I find it a lacked of opportunity for Proton to grab Malaysian’s attention and a real challenge to the Myvi.
The bigger question is, does all the safety features makes average Malaysian drivers (Myvi especially) better drivers? we all seen before how the "KING" got its name on Malaysian roads.
The red looks pretty chintzy to be honest. It has the "racer boy" look which puts off those who prefer a clean and simplistic design. Also, still waiting for a full LCD instrument cluster for the Myvi.

Top range Myvi make use of new Avanza/Xenia version of meter gauge unit. Perodua invest quite a number new parts place on this last version of King Myvi. However with DCVT gearbox change, gear level position could be change in near future models. This version of Myvi still reminds me much of Gen1 Myvi alot.
they say manual sold only 1% of all myvi sales, well duh perodua only offered it in the lowest variant which barely anyone goes for these days. On top of that it loses many other features and comforts too.

I was really looking forward to this facelift and the electronics package that is good. Why, oh why do you make the top variant with that really pleb kind of seats???? The least you can do is to offer another variant with more sedate colour. Why would anyone paying RM60k plus need to spend more to cover up that shocking colour in a new car?

No point talking about ride and handling if your budget is 50K , not like you're choosing between lambo or ferrari. At this price bracket people are looking to save money , hence their focus should be on FC resale value and also maintenance cost .

The safety upgrades in paper really puts sets a higher standard. Proton should really need to follow suite and start implementing X50 features further down into their iriz/persona/saga (or their respective replacement). Sure the iriz's 6 airbags + ESC was a deal breaker but that's 8 years ago. If anything, it only won in frame stiffness (HPF tech frame). It's about time for proton to do the same. I'm sure Iriz's platform is capable enough to have autonomous driving implemented. The 3rd Gen Myvi is just a stretch out 2nd gen myvi (older than iriz) after all. Although it's quite understandable with how different manufacturers have different amount of budget to refresh their ageing cars.
You do have a solid point, however when development cost is a concern, and the product is nearing the end of a lifecycle (7 years old already for IRIZ), reengineering the entire electrical system to add Autonomous Level 2 system seems quite a big investment, it can't be add on ala carte like accessory shop, the Myvi, uses new ATIVA electrical system, which ATIVA is based on the Myvi platform to begin with (if not mistaken), so most of ATIVA safety features can be carry over to the new Myvi. One thing I observe, Perodua has good product strategy, cross platform with mini SUV, they really have a good plan, salute. But yes I totally agree with you if only the Iriz can have the ADAS installed. Iriz G2 maybe?
Honestly this is pretty awesome. Once upon a time, people had to buy more expensive cars like the Germans or more recently the Japanese to get the features this car provides. We all know that almost every family in Malaysia might have a Myvi and by giving this car these features, they have not only updated almost every Malaysians cars with “expensive” features but they’ve also increased the safety for road users marginally because these driving aids can help save lives. Well done Perodua 👌🏾

Great review sir as always! For my point of view: Myvi: exterior design looks sporty, good boot space and resale value is good. But it doesnt have a solid body panel and the panel of this car is soft like viva. Safety system features are great but still its not fully reliable as we do not know wen is it gonna be malfunction, It doesnt have HPF BODY STRUCTURE to solidify the body panel. Myvi handling and suspension are not great. Weight of myvi is only 945kg very light so its not stable on highway speed plus with its soft body panel. The seats in it are short and not bucket enough to wrap our body tats why it has large leg room but for long journey drive will not be comfort. Proton iriz: exterior interior design looks clean and sporty, solid body panel with HPF BODY STRUCTURE tats why wen we close the doors it feels like closing TOYOTA cars doors so tight and solid. It has best handling and suspension. Cold air con. Seats are super comfort with its longer shape seats and bucket seats. The speed respond better than myvi(proven in drag race few times). HPF BODY STRUCTURE solid body panel makes the car weight 1174kg heavy tats why it feels so stable on highway even on high speed. All these since Geely and Volvo working together with Proton.

For exterior look, Iriz nailed the sportier look and Myvi does look modern and more appealing to much larger group of people. But I'll say that looks is kind of subjective. BUT, Myvi safety features is something to be proud of for this price range. Its slogan "the new standard" is spot on! Now proton have to get to this standard to beat the myvi.
The face now look more feminine and soft. Interior does look cheap. Compared to iriz active it is much better looking inside. Since this myvi also opt for red bit as the iriz active. Takde idea ni. Dlm video ni gambar sebelah2 tu. Nmpk jelas Pre facelift lagi cun 😄

terima kasih Perodua membuang lampu kabus (fog lamp) pada Myvi ini. Memandangkan ramai yg kurang bijak utk guna pada waktu yg perlu. Satu kelegaan yg amat sangat bila kena cucuk belakang tak laa silau lagi. Harap Toyota dan Honda dapat ikut langkah ini yaa.
Sebenarnya ada solution kepada pemandu yg suka on lampu kabus ni. Mcm ford diorg buat seperate button utk lampu kabus depan dan belakang yang tak link dengan suis lampu. So setiap kali start enjin, lampu kabus tak akan nyala sekali dgn lampu biasa selagi tak tekan suis. Kalau buat selector switch mcm toyota/honda, kadang2 org biar je on mungkin sebab lupa nk tutup.

Plus the interior material quality much better. Door closing more solid. Comfort and handling better too.

AV variant red leather seats look really Ah Beng & 5354 (contonese). Doesn't match with its cranberry red aircond vent frame & body color. Even Iris's red buckle belt design looks much atas then this. If H var got cranberry red body color will be more suitable. Maybe Produa can consider dark elegant green and blueish grey (medium grey like Vios).
Perodua said they spent up to 50 m for that facelift ? Well that is all Daihatsu design and just rebadge cost them that much ! No wonder Malaysia is calles Malaysia Boleh ! Songlap Champion
Iriz cheaper but lack a lot of safety features and tech. But good in handling and sound proofing. Myvi the price higher but comes with a lot of modern and updated safety features, also better in feul efficiency. But handling and sound proofing still so so

Proton has no real competitor to the Myvi. They need new product and not refresh to fight with Myvi in the segment.

Iriz nampak je mcm sempit dalam tapi seat Iriz jauh lebih selesa, tebal dan support thigh. Selesa utk long distance journey

Memandangkan ramai yg kurang bijak utk guna pada waktu yg perlu. Satu kelegaan yg amat sangat bila kena cucuk belakang tak laa silau lagi.
Harap Toyota dan Honda dapat ikut langkah ini yaa.
Sebenarnya ada solution kepada pemandu yg suka on lampu kabus ni. Mcm ford diorg buat seperate button utk lampu kabus depan dan belakang yang tak link dengan suis lampu. So setiap kali start enjin, lampu kabus tak akan nyala sekali dgn lampu biasa selagi tak tekan suis. Kalau buat selector switch mcm toyota/honda, kadang2 org biar je on mungkin sebab lupa nk tutup.
x pasti mana lg teruk, pemandu yang memandu hanya gunakan lampu kabus atau pemandu yang gunakan semua lampu.
@@aqm1992 kebanyakan pembuat kereta dari Eropah pun dah banyak tak pasang lampu kabus (fog lamp), sebab lampu LED dah semakin advance dan boleh cukup utk guna pada waktu kabus atau hujan lebat.

@@rahmanshah3006 Yaris. Not far. 74K. After rebate from Toyota and SA rebate can get 67K. Got same feature plus 360 cam as well. Android auto, apple carplay etc. So justified a few thousands more. Plus the interior material quality much better. Door closing more solid. Comfort and handling better too.

whats up with the red seats man..... so we have to buy the seat cover for it to look clean ??? sheeshhhh not everyone loves the red colour perodua and also the red accent look inside the car is just not it. not natural at all compared to the older model
Seat also same small like last model just added red for adv model.uncomfortable seat for long distance.
Much better than the iriz facelift. The new iriz exterior was a step back.

AV variant red leather seats look really Ah Beng & 5354 (contonese). Doesn't match with its cranberry red aircond vent frame & body color. Even Iris's red buckle belt design looks much atas then this.
If H var got cranberry red body color will be more suitable.
Maybe Produa can consider dark elegant green and blueish grey (medium grey like Vios).
Perodua said they spent up to 50 m for that facelift ? Well that is all Daihatsu design and just rebadge cost them that much ! No wonder Malaysia is calles Malaysia Boleh ! Songlap Champion

Myvi the price higher but comes with a lot of modern and updated safety features, also better in feul efficiency. But handling and sound proofing still so so
