    I have a 218,000 mile 2011 Accord with the 2.4, can vouch for it being reliable. I've done basic maintenance the whole time up until 200k
    I've only replaced the blower motor, wimdow switch, and alternator. Did it all myself, will happily vouch for their reliability

    I have a 2012 LX-P Accord with under 70K miles. It's just 4 cylinder but that's enough for even long distance freeway drive. It runs great and smooth. It's like a budget Grand Touring Car for me. The safety rating is 10 out of 10. I didn't have any problem with it since I bought it and I really love my Accord.

    Hey Mike, awesome review video! My wife has a 2008 Accord LX (base model, least amount of options available) with the 2.4 I4. It has been from Texas to Virginia multiple times with 118k miles, and still running strong! Very well maintained interior, exterior and mechanically. To anyone looking into a 2008-2012 Accord, they're great vehicles, especially for the price. Don't be afraid of the 2.4 4 cylinder, its a great engine with decent fuel economy. It may not be the fastest, but it is reliable and healthy. If you find a 3.5, I would hands down go for it, but keep in mind, they're all around great daily drivers. Once in a while, I'll take her Accord to work over my 2018 Honda HR-V with an anemic 1.8l.

    I own a 2012 v6 accord coupe and it is not fuel efficient at all in city driving which is 90 percent of my driving. Having a heavy gas petal foot obviously doesn't help plus waiting in drive thru lines really uses up a lot of gas. If you want good gas mileage defiantly get an I4 version ( You won't have to worry about changing the expensive Timing belt at 100,000 miles). The V6 is great for passing power,( and gaping many cars that think they are faster cause you're in an Accord) but expect to lose a lot of MPG unless you strictly drive on the highway very conservatively.

    My only issue with this car is the road noise, I can barely tolerate it. I almost spent a fortune thinking it was wheel bearings and stuck calipers till an Engineer confirmed to me that its how the car sounds that it's the road noise.
    Also the car is damn heavy.
    Maybe it's because I'm used to lighter and less noisy cars - camry

    • @merc340sr

      Maybe it's because I drive only Hondas, Acuras, I don't see what the issue is with road noise...I have a 2010 Accord EX 4 cyl, and I don't see the road noise as being that bad...I would like a bit of a smoother ride, but with all that the Accord has to offer, I'm willing to tolerate a stiffer ride for the time being.

    I think the four cylinder was rated 23/34 after the refresh. And this gen was actually slower than the times he quoted. I think he quoted the time for the ninth gen. The four cylinder was around 8.5 give or take. And the six was around 6.5 with the 5 speed auto.

    • @markleckband4495
      @markleckband4495 3 года назад

      The six speed and cvt of the next gen lopped nearly a second off the 0-60 time and boosted fuel economy, too.

    • @Velanestar
      @Velanestar 2 года назад

      My 08 v6 accord sedan with 135k miles 0-60 is 5.9-6.0 with me controlling the shifts with the gear lever and traction control off. She'll leave marks into third sometimes.
      If i let the car control the shifts it's 6.2-6.3
      It's unfortunate because that 5 speed auto holds it back a lot - and doesn't offer great fuel economy.
      A Coyote mustang with a 10a not only outpaces it by almost 2 seconds it gets only a gallon or 2 less fuel economy in the city.
      Well at least then mine. I had my mechanic stop the active cylinder management to prevent further engine wear
      These accords with cylinder management do a lot better gas milage wise but it also hurts the engine and acceleration.

    NEVER buy a 2010 Honda Accord with the V-6 engine. My brother's wife and my co-worker each bought one when they were only 5 years old with 60,000 miles. About every 30,000 miles the spark plug fouls out and many times it's when it's -40 out and she's 200 miles from home. So she is changing the spark plug in the cold and now the catalytic converter is plugging from the oil that get's past the piston rings. The dealership said that is a problem with that model of V-6 engines is they have defective piston rings. They said it is a very expensive repair and usually is not worth the money to fix. My brother's wife said this is the worst car she has ever owned. To bad she paid $13,000 for it in 2015...
