    Stuart/Cindy still remains as my favorite storyline. Kudos to the late, great David Canary, and to Agnes Nixon for fighting for this story to be told.

    I remember being a freshman in HS, and having an anxiety attack just waiting to run home and rewind my vhs tape to watch this show every day, but especially on the good days. Cindy looks like the twin of Def Leppard guitarist Phil Collen. And I always remember a scene where Stuart cries so hard over Cindy that he gets a 12" line of snot all over the place and he whips around to try and hide it a little. I figured it would be this scene but it's not there. Funny how I can remember that 30+ years later like it was yesterday.

      If you want to see a heartbreaking Storyline about HIV/AIDS check out Eastenders A UK Soap that focused on the lives of a group of Folks who live in the fictitious Walford that was inspired by the Economical Problems that England faced in the 1980's. Mark Fowler tells his Parents Pauline & Arthur Fowler that he has HIV that nobody knew about in the mid 1980's. When he goes to get a Beer at The Queen Victoria Pub aka The Vic, Peggy Mitchell The Owner screams "Get Out Of My Pub!" That storyline really educated folks about the disease.

    Ellen Wheeler was pure joy as Cindy. AMC did a good job with this story line at this point and time in the late 80s when AIDS was such a prominent and feared sickness. As usual Stuart was practically the only one person who was Adam's Achilles heel. Even though he tried to run Cindy off in fear for Stuart, Adam came around to care for her. Didn't Skye also try to come between Stuart and Cindy? I just don't remember. I DO remember that Cindy was so well liked at the Glamorama until people learned of that sickness. I only remember that bitch Enid Nelson was one who spread the word about it as I am sure other characters did as well. Enid always stuck in my mind because she was one of AMC's most horrendous characters the writers ever came up with and Natalie Ross played her so well.

    You know what's also so sad. The Club Owner Steve Rubell who co owned Studio 54 back in the day died of AIDS, and then a couple of MOnths later Halston (1932-1990) would also die of the disease. He was the First Fashion Designer to die of the disease. Others would be Perry Ellis, Patrick Kelly & Willi Smith

      @@makeittrue I'm sure that this was a very controversial Storyline. In the UK They did an AIDS Storyline where Mark Fowler got it on The Soap Opera Eastenders when he had unsafe sex. It was around this time as well and folks still didn't know much about it. Peggy Mitchell who ran the Neighborhood Bar The Queen Victoria aka "The Vic" shouted "Get Out Of My Pub" and it angered alot of fans but they wanted to show how easy it was to not know about HIV/AIDS. Sadly enough his Character would die off Screen.

      @laminage 3 года назад +1

      @@brklyn345 That was true as well but to some die hard Fans it was always Cliff & Nina the same way it was always Angie & Jesse. It was also during that time that Debbie Morgan decided to do Generations on NBC because she liked the fact that it was a Fully Integrated Cast. It was The Second Time she worked with Kristoff St. John (Ex Adam Marshall). She played Chantal Marshall #2 who may have been the "Real" Daughter of the Man that her Grandmother Mama Viv worked for. The first time she worked with him was in Roots The Next Generations where he played "Young Alex Haley" and then of course on The Young & The Restless as Yolanda #2.

    • @romanseano
      @romanseano 2 года назад +1

      @@brklyn345 The writer's strike was the year prior to this. Jesse's death was written during that time, in the absence of the actual writing team.
