Natalie just OWNS the stage. She is so amazing, powerful and amazing. Got to hand to her she put together a stellar backing band. Those keyboards, the drums and of course Jennifer Turner who just a guitar GODDESS!!!
Ive watched this video about 50 times since I ran across it recently. Talk about a Duo. Beauty AND talent extraordinaire!! That guitar!! Phenomenal drumming as well.
Man Jen Turner is incredible. None of the follow up guitarists ever matched her tone or feel. One of the most underrated guitar albums IMHO, her playing on it is stellar.
Many came to hear Natalie Merchant, but these songs would be pale and sound flat without Jennifer's impeccably beautiful guitar licks. Jennifer Turner is a gem.
So beautiful! As a performer she is on the same level as Jimi, Thom yorke, Janis, Waters. She will always be a legend to me! Way underrated. Top 10 live performer for sure!
I got my first guitar at 17 years old. Mid 90’s. Huge smashing pumpkins fan. The grunge scene. The reggae, funk styles. Pantera, prodigy, pop, etc. tripping daisy, the toadies, all big influences. But when i dissected Jen turners work. I wanted to quit playing guitar.
I love Jennifer's instinctive playing - it's got roots in her soul, and it hits mine, baby. Does anyone know what happened to the other live clip of Carnival with Jennifer? It had an excellent solo.
Check out the bit at minute 4:14 to 5:08 here. Great guitar and dance movement. I even love the duck dance; it's special funk. What a creative little honey she is.
With morissette and Stefani and Amos, O'Riordan, Hatfield, Sade, McLachlan....that late 1990s era was the golden age for great female singers, and I would put Merchant at the top.
Interesting how similar her first band post maniacs is basically the maniacs with different people. Then she moved away from that more and more with each project.
I watched Jen Turners replacement - ruclips.net/video/4Q8Ax-bSmGo/видео.html&ab_channel=TheKamherst - and while the guy is certainly a good player, he is passionless during the solo and the entire song just is flat without JT's signature playing.
04:45 can we just give a moment of applause thirty years later for guitar player Jen Turner. Fabulous tone.
15:40 continues it….
Natalie just OWNS the stage. She is so amazing, powerful and amazing. Got to hand to her she put together a stellar backing band. Those keyboards, the drums and of course Jennifer Turner who just a guitar GODDESS!!!
Jen Turner , effortless, impeccable timing, tone creating fingers. 💕
Amazing player, incredible musicality. The soloing in Carnival is simply beautiful!
Jen Turner is certainly one of the most underrated guitarists of all time
100% . Jen’s groove moves things.

What an amazing performance, especially Wonder !! Natalie's voice is so smooth and Jen Turner absolutely nails it!!
What an amazing guitar solo......cut just a tiny bit short when Natalie looks over at Jen......
Why does this only have 17,000 views??? WTF is wrong with our world?
Prove is, views don’t make talent😊❤

Classy, sweet, beautiful, well spoken. That's Natalie Merchant! ❤
Many came to hear Natalie Merchant, but these songs would be pale and sound flat without Jennifer's impeccably beautiful guitar licks.

En un domingo en la noche, gracias Natalie. Bonitos recuerdos de tu hermosa voz.
Hypnotised, Mesmerised.
To me Natalie is the epitome of sensuality

Natalie Merchant is the greatest human ever created.
Once in a time performance 🤩🤩🤩
I saw 10,000 maniacs open for REM at the Boston Garden. Great show
Wish this was released 😪

Her voice is so beautiful and unique. From 10,000 maniacs on SNL, to now a fan.
Nice 🎶 Gorgeous too. 👧

Ms Turner is a beast 🤩
Jennifer Turner, y’all!!!
Christ man....Jen Turner. Her phrasing on the guitar....
So beautiful!
Thanks!!!
THANK YOU EARLMICHAELJOHN
She has one of the best guitar players on the planet.
Jen Turner in Carnival is TOP!
Natalie, Alanis, and Deloris O'Riordan (The Cranberries) are the female voices of the 90's. REAL TALENT!!
Meh.
Don't forget Tori
Merchant was also a performer for most of the 80's too.
@@Villazento nat is a way above the other 2
Joan Osborne is in the same group as well for me.
Breathtaking Natalie Merchant early years live performance. Sexy singer...sexy lead guitarist...any questions?
Jennifer Turner on Lead Guitar.
There are some many beautiful lady musicians. But Natalie Merchant is my safe refuge. Along with her mentor Joni Mitchell and Tori Amos.
@ 4:45 What an interesting way for a singer to turn up the sound level of the percussion in a live performance. 😜
🌪
🌬
Natalie holds her own. There will be only one Nattily.
One of her best…. And the AUDIO was sub par. RATS.
nice work nat let the music take you

Stephani? Huh?
Stephanie Mills?
@@JacobSpratlanI would guess Gwen Stefani.
⚡️
There is something about her mmm, all I can say is thank you lord.
🎠
Огонь!
The most attractive woman ever.
Jen Turner is a one woman band.
Hey, altogether, the ensemble is pretty solid🎸🎼🎶
Natalie is the most beautiful woman on the planet.
And even more so in 2024!!!!
Natalie is definitely one of the wonders of God's own creation.
Great performance! Who's the bass player? The feel and sound are great!
SHE MADE YOU
its lead singer, not lead piano.
che dire......bella, ma sopratutto bravissima
Damn, this song is actually kinda funky!
Beautiful music and voice but somehow she seems so fragile
Wonderful guitarist....
👁
I dont mean to demean her as an artist. I think she is amazing but, I'm sorry. She is the most beautiful human to ever live.
⛑
Is she wearing silk pajamas?
Vocals could be louder 🎱
Her hips don’t lie

The horrible calculation that even in 95 I was to old for Jen. Still, dreams don’t count.
The wife I never had. Go, she is gorgeous
