Night Shade & Ice Beam causing an explosion have you puzzled? Just wait until Pokemon Contests are introduced and darn near every attack apparently creates fireworks (espically in the Sinnoh series)...
It's obvious that Ash had to have the concept of a full battle explained to him because he's been in the Orange Islands so long that the idea of a battle is so foreign to him that it completely left his mind.
Three missed WTF moments: Drakes puns when he sent out Ditto, Onix, and Gengar. “I hope this one leaves a good impression”, “This next one’s gonna rock you”, and “This time you don’t stand a ghost of a chance”.
@@aaryayt7747 But Liam has highlighted that he doesn't like these kinda cliché's. Like in the episode when we met Lapras, Liam points out how two of the three trainers who are abusing it use these kind of puns when they appear ready to battle Ash.
Hate to defend Tracey but he’s technically not wrong. Since gengar’s evolution line was the only ghost type at the time. And Ash didn’t have any Pokémon that would do serious damage. Edit: For the record I am aware that gengar is a dual ghost/poison type. I’m say it was the *only ghost* Pokémon in the gen 1 era. There were plenty of poison type.
I die laughing every time at the “thats not a move” cutaway. Even as a 10 year old watching this I was confused as to why they were making up moves but now I know the writers just didn’t care lol
I can explain why Ash had Lapras use water gun first. The plan was to soak Gengar with water first, to make it easier for the ice beam to freeze him solid.
Well in Ash's defense in regards to Squirtle using Hydro Pump it only has 5 shots with that move and his Squirtle sucks, Watergun is a much more accurate move and it still missed; So Squirtle using Hydro Pump would have been pointless it never hits anything anyway even a giant ass Onix 4 feet in front of it.
Recently some stuff has surfaced, where Tauros was supposed to be one of his main members, alongside Venusaur, Charizard, Squirtle, Pikachu and Pidgeotto. It was official art i believe. But i think they decided against it, since Ash having a Tauros as a main(One of the most OP Kanto mons at that time), alongside 2 fully evolved starters isn't exactly giving off a rookie vibe.
@@nickdentoom1173 That's such a dumb reason but I guess you can't milk a series if your main character actually has character growth and eventually needs to exit the series.
