  • More tube frames and fiberglass. Round up the usual suspects, you already know the names. And someone forgot to wake up the Weather Steward. I'm actually with Mr. Hobbs on this one..drivers should make the choices, not the officials. The tail should not wag the dog. Starting lineup's screwed by that "Fast Five" inverted start crap, but the race comes back to the real fast five. It rains. It dries out. And y'all can see the Road Atlanta mud. Red rings on pants cuffs forever! I don't need my region patch to show other folks where I come from.. ;)

Glad you left the commercials in. I remember a lot of those. Good times.

RSChris666, I did it in the beginning just because I was too lazy/stoopid to figure out how to edit. People liked it, so now I'm 'off the hook'! Like I've said elsewhere..I never thought this would ever become a *real* channel, I really dig it that so many folks enjoy the old ads. Funny thing: my day job is actually TV (has been for 30yrs), and I really remember *so* many of the damn things!

It freaked me out at 31:05 when the voice of Garfield the cat from the cartoon started talking and it was a truck lol.
Anyway, thanks for the upload. The 80s and 90s are my favorite era of road racing.

I wish Road Atlanta still had the dip. That turn was just insane to watch the cars load up and go through it. I know they had to add in the chicane to get the track rated for ALMS, but I wish they had left this configuration drivable somehow. And the red clay banks instead of walls. It's come a long way.

Thanks for the upload. I used to watch the trans am series races when I was a kid. I would have been 10 for this one. It might have had an effect on me lol

+Camaro Rick , Glad you enjoyed it! We loved it, those were great days for T/A. This year was weird, though. The look on my face for that half a second is more of a "WTF?" about the stewards trying to force them on to rain tires than it was about getting rained on. Watching those guys blast through The Dip and brake for T11 as the track dried out is one of my best memories as a Corner Worker, though. Weird weekend for us.

Its still entertaining. Looked like Dillon Machavern lost a tie rod at road atlanta.right rear towed in bad on accell but he held 2nd. I dont get a chance to watch much racing lately unless I spot it on yt.
This was awesome to see the downforce with the rain. The dip looked like it would be my favorite turn too. I bet it was a blast

+jason parry , LOL! Yeah, sign of the times, bro. I'm at 59:00 or so (yellow flag)..looking at it again, you can actually see I had a little one, too at 59:06. Man, I was over 30yrs old in '95, and I think Dorsey's five or ten years older than *I* am! Weird thing..no Camaro/Mustang for me, I had a VW GTI. :)

What were the difference between cars in Nascar and Trans AM back in these days?
It looks like there's a lot of similarities.
The body is certainly more symmetric in trans am, because it's road racing. No Earnhardt bar too. I think the trans AM had fiberglass& composites.

Nascar weights over 4000lbs while thid were under 2800lbs and more downforce supposedly.

3 or 4 link rear suspension, adjustable sway bars, not as beefy since they didn't have to worry about 200 mph for 500 miles. Just a different kind of art.
