+Robert Hanson , thanks! I'm actually pretty stoked that I saved tapes from tracks I'd heard of, but had never worked. All these years later, I'm glad I did. Stuff like this, and Hallett and Summit Point were just "WOW! (publicly obscure track) was on TV?!? Yeah, not recording over *this* one!" Glad y'all enjoy it.
I'm just sorry the quality's so poor. That skewing uppper 3rd drives me nuts, but the last VHS machine I have that still works has that stupid "automatic tracking" feature. And yeah, good to hear that Brainerd's back! I'm hearing they took the front straight off the drag strip and paved a new one?
+BDMotorsports , a lot of places are doing that now. Opens up more days for police training, manufacturer press days, track days, etc. Road Atlanta today looks just like it does in the video games. :D Hey, more rentals, more money. Whatever keeps it a race track, right? As far as actually being there in '87 goes..any good stories?
@@oldsccaguyyah9901 Great stuff man! THANK YOU. I know how much time it takes in the old media! Doing everything in real time takes FOREVER! I had a big bin of Beta that I wanted to transfer to CD. Beta machine died. Found another one on CL and it died so finally just gave up. I'm glad you didn't! TransAm at that time was a cool mix of hardware. The Merkur xr4ti going head to head with the 944 Turbo and the Camaros licking at their heels was great to see. Thanks again! CC
What are the weight, power and tyre sizes for these cars? How does the most powerful car compare to the least powerful car in this race in terms of power, weight, tyre size and braking ability?
Attended this race as a part of the crew of car #50. We didn't do well but I still enjoyed myself. Spent many family vacations in the same area.
We were there' ye also, turns 3,4, and 5 camping!
Great to hear Steve Evans again. Thanks for the upload!
+Michael Lang , agreed.
I was an 8 year old kid who was at this race. My dad raced in the vintage races that weekend. Great memories!
I ran against your dad
As a LOL corner worker, this makes me very happy. Hopefully the Trans-Am boys will be able to use the big track again some day
Patrick, here's a "shout out" from Atlanta Region to Land O' Lakes! Man, I'd love to work that place one day!
It's a blast and we'd love to have you!
Thanks. My dad and I are loving this. Bless you old guy.

Porsche love racing in America no matter what the category!!
This is really cool to see the track back in the day. Thanks for posting this.
Thank you for this!
BTW, SCCA World Challenge and the new Trans-Am series raced at Brainerd this past year.

+oldSCCAguy yah its a multi choice layout now... the big course is still there, have a shorter course too now. Used to live there... I was at this.

Turn 4 is very reminiscent of the esses at Lime Rock. The didtance from 3 to 4 is a bit longer though.
Love it!!
Tyrn 1 nearly flat out
