Thank you! I needed this lesson. Popped into my head the other day. I'm 65 and saw and bought KISS in the good days before they became a total bubble gum hard rock act. Playing this for an old buddy. Great rhytufigurr
I still don't understand why people mocked these guys musicianship. This is arguably the most underrated song from the 70s catalog. Sure they're no Rush,so what?? We already HAVE. a Rush(given their first big US tour by Kiss,if not mistaken. Paul's vocals on the ALIVE! album are phenomenal... .
Joe you are incredible and such a good teacher! I’ve always loved not only these Kiss songs but you cover some really cool other iconic tunes as well thank you for inspiring me to wanna try to learn these songs Sincerely Christian
Wow, how very nice!! You're very welcome ~ I am glad to help, it would have been nice to have this when I was young, and since I didn't I just want to help others not to struggle like I did starting out. I appreciate the time & kind comment ~ My Best ~ Joe
2021 - Covid is still going down and I am discovering Kiss! Thanks for the lesson. Gotta learn this one. I just came across the song and was really impressed - basic rock and roll.
Such a cool song with cool parts all around! People always bag on their musicianship but their musicality is brilliant and their structures are strong.
Just stumbled across your great feed here, thanks for the in depth breakdown on this song. I’ve been a Kiss fan myself since Alive 1 came out as well. I’ll check out other ones too I’m sure, thanks again Joe.
I can't decide which version I like better, the studio or Alive, they perform it perfectly. Depends on the day. What a song, even the singer/guitarist I play with who says he doesn't like Kiss likes this song.
Always be tuned down either a half step or a whole step on at least 3 or 4 guitars of each . All your metal or hard rock stuff is in those tunnings mainly , very rare for a rock song to be played or recorded in standard E
You're very welcome - what a classic song, I've really never lost my love for the classic KISS and it's great to get a note that it helps ~ My Best ~ Joe
gtrjoe1901 youtube video Paul Stanley checks in from home time stamp 8:54 He plays Got to Choose, it's very different, if you happen to update in the future based on that video let me know, I'm not good enough or smart enough to figure out half of what he is doing in the video.
Thanks for another great lesson…..this one has been a favorite of mine since I was a teenager…👍
Me too - always loved this one & Jailbreak!!! My Best & Happy Holidays!! ~ Joe
Jailbreak…..Thin Lizzy….another favorite from another favorite band…we must be brothers from another mother!

I actually did think they doubled the main riff, but maybe that was just Ace's unique attack.
Awesome, thank you!

What video of Paul Stanley? Maybe I can help shed some light on what he's doing.
You lost me at 4:42 ...you mention the chords but they are not regular D etc
D, D, A, B, C, G G = they are simply power chords.
Hope that helps ~ My Best ~ Joe
