- In this second episode of three, photographer Oliver Fox and I will light and photograph two bottles of gin using CaptureOne live view overlays. In the third and last episode we will merge (composite) the bottles into the AI generated worlds using Photoshop.

a brilliant suggestion on using what many think of as a death nell of photographers income. Use the AI to further enhance the skills of the photographer and provide composition skills for backdrops, allowing less skilled or less equipped with accessories to achieve outstanding background effects not available before. Thanks for sharing this with the community.
I agree Charles, we need to jump on the train and be optimistic and see the opportunities with this new technology.
Can't wait for part 3! Thank you!
Coming soon!
This series has massively got my attention.
Great stuff and thanks for taking us through this.
I did not know about the Capture One overlay! So useful!
Glad to hear it!
Yes, that's a good one!
Great stuff guys, looking forward to more content like this
Thanks a lot. I'm working on it 😃
loved the video! pls make more like this series! thank you.
Thank you! Will do! There will ONLY be AI from now on, my views went up 300%!! 😁 (Kidding a bit)
inspiring! can't wait to see 3rd part /compositing...
Coming soon, probably on Sunday. Thanks for the support!
Such a cool informative video guys! Deffo going to help me with my own personal work
Happy to help!
Thank you! Hope to see the third part soon, so curious regarding the composite!
Coming soon my friend!
It will "just" be a Photoshop walk through of all the layers and I will explain as good as I can what I did. It's kind of straight forward Photoshop stuff. 30-40 layers for each bottle I think.
@@botvidsson That's a lot! So happy for this new "type" of videos/photography ideas. I think AI can help for a lot of stuffs during the work. Thank you Martin for your precious help as always!
I agree, you're very welcome!
Would love to see the Midjourney prompting process for the 2nd environment :)
I understand. Unfortunately we cut it out, video became too long... However, will do more of these kind of videos.
Thanks again for the time and effort you put in, inspiring like aways. Is it possible to have to prompt of that table? Looks so good with those pink drinks.
Unfortunately I don't have that. That's olivers prompt on his laptop. Sorry and thanks!
@@botvidsson Thanks for the fast reply. I thought I'd missed an episode
With Stable Diffusion it got way easier. You just need your product photo as a PNG file with transparent background. Stable Diffusion will then create the scene background based on your prompt and PNG file with all the reflections, caustics, etc.
Yes, I just watched a video on that. Time to check stable diff out I guess...
Can you recommend a tutorial for that?
I can't wait it
Soon... 😁
Midjourney is still in charge, but there is fierce competition, and I am like using Blue Willow because it is totally free to use
Yes more and more will come, have not tried any other... YET!
Looks great, but is it just me, or is the Gin bottle in the wrong perspective? Looks a bit like the camera position was too high. It’s otherwise very impressive. Need to try midjourney.
Yes, you are right. Should have spent a bit more time on the angle because that’s the most important part to pull it off. Next time I be more focused. 😁
The mistake was that we did not redo the shot when we recorded, we should have removed the diffusion... it was late, very tired... 🥱
Very interested in this (also as a food and product guy) 🙌🏼
Great to hear Matt, and now version 5 just came out and the AI images looks even better. Much better and realistic.
@@botvidsson going to do some practice with it today!
It's very addicting 😁
I really like this series, thank you! The overly dramatic music is super distracting though.
Huge thanks!
Great video! Can you shoot tethered to lightroom?
Yes absolutely! I have a video on that ruclips.net/video/20iy_NDt0NM/видео.html
I have a question, as far as I know Mid Journey now prompts images with 2048 pixels on the long side, if I need a higher pixel image, is there a way to achieve it, thanks
There are some AI image upscale tools online, also the one that people recommend is Topaz Gigapixel, I have not tried it yet, it's not free. For the images in this tutorial I doubled the size by using the Super resolution feature in Photoshop RAW Filter, it's kind of okay.
You can also use Lightrooms 'Enhance' feature which makes it double the size.
@@vaidotasdarulis Have not tried that, probably the same as Enhance/super resolution in Photoshop. Thanks!
How do you think this differs from compositing any other stock image?
This is more fun 😁
i would really like to see the prompt for the second picture!
I understand but we showed only one ai image in Midjourney so the video did not become so long.
I will see if I can get my hands on the prompt...
HI. How did you get the mid journey image to download at a large enough size to use?
I didn't, I upscaled.
Doesn't MidJourney also have the capability to upload and utilize an existing photo and then build an image from it as a reverse process? It might be awesome to upload an image and then have Mid Journey for example create splashes around it or have objects interacting with it that would be difficult to composite.
I don't think Midjourney is there yet, but probably soon.
I tried to make this work but no success, if someone has any tips please share.
Well thats because MJ is an entry-level WYSIWYG tool for kids. In Stable Diffusion you can of course integrate it within your 3D editor such as Blender, block out the actual shape of your bottle and then have the background rendered in SD using img2img and Inpainting
No ... create own AI reference 'model' (using your own unique photography), use stable diffusion to create your marketing 'art', sell your model to less skilled 'artists' and marketing people out there ... and repeat.
cool, would be good to try and do the same with a 3D scan of the bottle and just insert it using blender or similar
Yes that's another alternative if you have those skills
Yeah I mean it's one of the most important part if you want to do something similar
Midjourney should begin making plans to raise their 25 free limit right away. As an alternative, AI technologies like Blue Willow will become more and more popular over time. Blue Willow, in my opinion, will be the one to take down MidJourney
Yes we will see soon what will happen when all other AI image gen alternatives will come...
If you dont think this is the future, your're already behind.
100%
man why part 1 2 3 just make it one video and show us the result god dmn
Hehe... absolutely no one will watch a 30 minutes long video. Maybe we geeks but not the big mass.
Need to be a bit more strategic nowadays and go along with the RUclips algorithm you know 😁
@@botvidsson tbh, this worked for me
well, i was happy to move from 1 to 3 part, life is too short to rush ;)
Why not use a monitor and put the image behind the product?
How to do that when shooting in 45 degree angle? Or straight on for that matter, then you need some extra props, like moss and leaves in this case.
Maybe it can work if you have some kind of board or table that you put in front of the screen, but they need to work together.
@@botvidsson Good points, I do think this approach will only work straight on, and also having the background blurred so it creates an illusion of depth of field.
I'm working on it.a shoot of a milkshake and needed an old-school dinner image behind, i will share the result once done
@@newwaveclubx great. Please share in the fb group. I also shot with a monitor as a background but only like a sky with clouds
Just accept it, you're done. Sell your umbrella's while you still can.
Umbrellas… if I only had only umbrellas
use deesser lads sharp voice recording oof good job on video tho
Have a soft de-esser on, thanks
Well it MUST be illegal
indeed
Photoshop Creativity just killed all this process, photography is nearly over guys....
Yeah right 🤣
might as well model and render the asset in a 3d app and combine with the Midjourney background - more cohesive result, more versatile and straight forward. Does away with the need for photography altogether. Oh dear...
Yes, if you have that skill that’s an option.
cgi killed off hand drawn animation and stop motion, ai will kill off product photography/graphic designers
@@hongk0ngfu3y what are you smoking? both hand drawn and stop motion are alive and well, it's even more well regarded nowadays
@@jehhuty think the term is niche
