- We take a FLY FISHING TRIP to the GREEN RIVER in Utah. This has been on our BUCKET LIST for a long time! We spend 3 days wading and floating in a drift boat down this AMAZING RIVER surrounded by STUNNING VIEWS! The fishery lives up to the hype as we throw DRY FLIES for BIG BROWN TROUT in SUPER CLEAR WATER.
We spend the first 2 days floating with Spinner Fall Guide Service on Section A and B below Flaming Gorge Dam. On the 3rd day, we DIY and are hiking and wading.
This tailwater is a world class fishery located near Dutch John, Utah below Flaming Gorge Dam.

Thanks Man! It was an amazing experience for sure!
I've done that hike a few times to that little stretch.
Very cool! Yea, it was a fun day!
Awesome trip and video. I have to ask, did you like fishing from a boat better or like this video wading along the bank and fishing? Which method produced more fish wading or boat? I know all of it was awesome but which was the best.
Thanks! Floating in a drift boat is hard to beat, especially on that river! We learned so much from the guides, they were top notch! I think it's worth it to get a guide and float it for at least one day. You get to cover way more water and that allows you to experience everything that river has to offer-amazing views and access to better fishing!
With that said, if your only able to wade it, it's still worth the trip! It was fun hiking back there a couple of miles and having the river to ourselves! The fishing was phenomenal! Just got to keep in mind time of year and generation. I think when we were fishing it was around 2000cfs.
@@OutdoorHighlife thanks for the great answers and information. If I able to head that way I would definitely get a boat and guild. Do you feel the time of year you went was a perfect month or do they have a peak month for the Rivers? You really picked a good place to go.
@@LIVE4THEADVENTURE As far as scenery and weather goes, it was perfect when we were there. We threw terrestrial the whole time, which was awesome! The cool thing that I learned while I was there was that there are so many styles of fishing that you can do on that river. Dry flies, streamers, nymphing-it just depends on what style you like. But the dry fly fishing on that river is the best that I have ever experienced. I know the cicadia hatch in late may and early June is something that alot of people go for.
@@OutdoorHighlife dang what a freaking great place you went. Good Job!!! Definitely one for the great memory book.
What section of the river were you looking ?
Your third day was that the C section?
Great video. What time of year did you book and do you have a link to the guide service that you used?
Thank You! We booked the guide a couple of months in advance. We used Spinner Falls Guide Service. Here is a link to day 1 of our trip where we used a guide.

Which section was this on?
B
Section C?
Section B
Did you park at little hole and walk down stream?
Beautiful fish, but you’re handling them way too much. You don’t need to take so long on the money shot.
