  • We spend a couple days fly fishing, floating, and camping on the Eleven Point River in Missouri. The Eleven Point River runs through the Mark Twain National Forest and is designated as a National Wild and Scenic River. A portion of the river beginning at Greer Springs and flowing 5.5 miles to Turner Mills is designated as a Blue Ribbon Trout Area and holds wild naturally reproducing rainbow trout.

    Ive always wanted to float the 11 point from Missouri into Arkansas. It flows about 35 minutes from where i live near Hardy, Arkansas. I'm glad i found your guys' channel. Those poor dogs. I would of had to take them on the raft and home. Poor dogs. Great video fellas.

    I’m interested in how you put your trailer together. I’m also running a utility trailer for my raft. Currently I’m running 2x4 across the rails. I’d like to keep my raft needs removable to keep it as a utility trailer when I need it. Your rail system looked nice

    • @OutdoorHighlife
      @OutdoorHighlife  9 месяцев назад +4

      Yea, that’s what I was after too. Wanted to be able to use as a utility trailer when needed. My dad custom welded me a a custom easy removable frame for the raft. It’s 1in square tubing that slides on to the rails of the trailer and is tied to trailer with 4 bolts or pins. It’s pretty simple design and has worked out great so far! Here pretty soon, I will try and make a video showing the setup so you can get a better idea of the setup.

    Dogs run loose on these rivers all the time and are not lost, had one hang out with us for awhile and move along he was actually on a hunt and treed some animal down stream.

    I love fishing, but there is no way I would have left Mark and Twain behind. Either they would have been in the boat, or I wouldn't go fishing. I hope they find a good home. We don't deserve dogs that good.

    • @OutdoorHighlife
      @OutdoorHighlife  9 месяцев назад

      It was hard to leave Mark and Twain behind and we planned on taking them back home with us if they were at camp when we got back. But here is the reality. We don't know where these dogs came from. Did they run away and there owner was looking for them or did someone drop them off Our truck was already 6 miles down river, so not going down river was not an option.(and no cell service). We wanted to put them in the raft, but we were in the national forest, and if they decided to chase a squirrel, deer, etc(which they had already did that morning) while we were halfway down the river, they would have definitely been in real trouble. Host of other factors that not necessary to explain. But, we wont forget Mark and Twain!

      The current, jacks fork, and eleven point all have river dogs that all have great homes. I’ve encountered many pets without owners on all 3. As well as many hunting dogs at not so nice hours to have them come thru camp chasing deer fawns but every local I’ve came across seems to know almost every traveling dog in the area by name. Great vid guys. Just did the jacks fork 2 weeks back.

      @ArkanSauced Thanks! Appreciate you sharing that info! Makes me feel a little better about letting them be. I’m hoping to make it out to the Jacks Fork soon!
