I'm curious how the instructor was giving proficiency test in an unfamiliar airplane
CFII was rating proficiency for instrument rating for pilot. He wasn't giving the guy a type rating.
That instructor sure appeared to be not cool with this.

instructor on an unfamiliar aircraft??
he was doing an IPC - instrument proficiency check. The pilot is qualified to fly his aircraft and the instructor/check airman is evaluating his ability to fly the instrument procedures. this is quite common as check airmen will fly all different types of aircraft regularly
