Did it all today. 6 for 6, 10 RBIs, 2 stolen bases to reach a total of 51, and 3 home runs to reach 51 on the season. Shohei Ohtani, the absolute GOAT of baseball. What a privilege it is, to watch him play.

Last year when Ohtani was with the Angels I was blessed to see him play a few times. My son's father-in-law had season seats 5 rows up behind home plate at Angel Stadium Anaheim. He was so mad how the Angels were playing that he gave his tickets to us, which we graciously accepted. For many years I was a 'AAA' hockey coach and am always in awe of Supreme sports talent. When I first saw Ohtani up close at the plate, I was so impressed that I saw him as the '21st Century Babe Ruth'. He is an amazing talent with many years left to change many records in baseball. Congratulations Ohtani on your record setting day and many more to come!

I'm imagining he's like "Ok club is open", proceed to look at door sign says 50/50 and he was like nope wrong door then proceed to open the next 51/51 club door.

That $700 million contract seems a bit low now..
This is his first season on that contract and he hasn’t even pitched an inning.
So he’s able to impact the game by this much over a season just on offense.
Next year is going to be nuts.

I mean if you want to get technical that $700 million contract is only $20 million while he's actually playing. The other 680 million is paid after his contract is up. The deal pays him $2M a season for 10 years and then he gets $68M each year from 2034-2043

@@bull79 Yeh we all know that.
Regardless how it’s structured he’s still to be paid that amount.
Which is even more value because $68m in 2034 is worth far less than $68m in 2024.
So even that in it self is ohtani doing dodgers franchise a favour.
