Had he been able to get that triple (for the cycle...just missed) and the 11th RBI (way to go with that wild pitch - did they call it a passed ball? - to let the run in, B rated righthander) I think you could make a persuasive case that it was THE single greatest batting performance ever.
Thank goodness he crushed the first of the two upper deck blasts (actually, very close to each other) off a legitimate pitcher, lest that last one be considered bogus 'cause it was a gimme.

I mean literally this man had the real meaning of a 1 of 1 game that might not ever be done again. Never say never ofcourse but DAMN! I don't see that night at the plate being broken anytime soon that's for DAMN sure 😂
And to think his walk off grand salami to get him into the 40/40 club was amazing 😅 That was every bit of a 10/10 performance, and he just turns the 51/51 performance ALLLL THE WAY UP TO 20/10 (figuratively and literally) with them scoring 20 runs lmaoooo!!!

In Ohtani's first season playing for the Dodgers:

-The first 50 HRs/50 SBs player in MLB history
-Reaches the playoffs for the first time in his career

I mean this batting/baserunning performance in itself is cemented in history as maybe the best solo plate spectacle in MLB history, but to top it off with ANOTHER first ever in the history of the MLB with a 50/50 season is truly the most remarkable baseball hitting exhibition I've ever witnessed in my 30 years on this Earth haha!
And he's still got 9 more games to bump those numbers up! I'm thinking 55/55 is VERY doable, and if he just pops off for the greatest 10 game streak known to man (starting with this game) it's definitely possible to see a 60/60! Highly unlikely, BUT possible nonetheless!

With 51/51, shohei has just 1 less SB this year than all SB that Aaron Judge has in his entire MLB career so far, all the while being just few HRs behind Aaron Judge this season.

This was probably the most fun I ever had watching a lopsided game. Dingers were rang up like hotcakes. The home crowd cheering for the visiting team as much as their own. Baseball history was made. And I still give kudos to the easily defeated Marlins for giving us fans some fantastic defensive play and home runs themselves. The only complaint I’d have would be having an infielder, as opposed to an actual pitcher, pitching to practically gift Ohtani that 51st homer instead of making him earn it like the previous 50. Regardless, fun game to watch from a Rangers fan.
