Mitchell Steindler because they’re internet test drivers who are flaming badge queens. Usually these people have NEVER been behind the wheel of the vehicle they’re trolling.
The interior definitely could have better, especially the gauges but this car is still a beast. You can get a tune for it for less than $900 and it will take this car up to 600hp!!! Not to mention the car has been reviewed as quite possibly the best handling sedan ever.
This body style is awesome. I recently purchased a ‘17 ATS-V sedan a few months ago and I am loving it for the most part. The CUE has been the only downside so far with the system having to be replaced three times under warranty for issues known to be a problem.
@@daveweisbrich1769 No major issues seen yet. I've put about 15,000 miles on the car. I just got a simple stage 1 tune that bumped up the horsepower to 499 at the wheels.
I have a Beamer 2011 i535 was looking for a Honda but found a ATS 2013 actually liked it a lot. But you nailed it on the down sides of it. For a Cadi it’s a keeper. And it just looks fly as hell
The car looks amazing on the outside, the interior is actually very nice oh, you were very hard on the car. It's super fast and has a great engine, Cadillac has come a long way. This is a much much better looking car than any of its competition.
I always knew Cadillac was one of the really cool and something that should be appreciated just like his brothers the bmw and Mercedes luxury and sport groups. Edit: since I was a little boy
Why there are some comments talking about the price is too high? It's a V, like M in BMW and AMG in Mercedes. And its performace is better than C 63 overall with a cheaper price!
Look how cheaply made it is compared to an amg. Amg has much more refinement and a hand built engine. If anything this car should be much cheaper than it is
One thing a lot of you guys are forgetting is the fact that this model is on the tail end of the generation and will be redesigned soon. It's technically a 2013 design and material
I thought if it was fun to drive, nothing else mattered? The BMW and Mercedes have nicer interiors, but then the criticism is that the C63 doesn’t handle like the Alpha and the M3 isn’t as good as it was before. Fun to drive comes with many sacrifices. It’s just how cars are.
I live in the DMV, near Sofyan. You appreciate this car here, because it’s a unicorn in sea of M3’s and 63’s. Regionally, he speaks to me; you sacrifice a little to stand out.
Cadillac - gauges look cheep. Think ferrari, 911 , or bmw. Please get rid of that plastic cue black plastic and add knobs. 2010 cts-v had a much nicer and exciting dash. Beautiful car and excellent engine...but the drivers point of view from the driver seat could be so much better.
Lol. You are not talking about the 3.6 v6. Good engine, really bad left side pcv system. Half burnt motors. Look into it, there is a fix but changes emissions.
I can't afford either, however, I think the G70 that you just tested with the 3.3L is a better value and much better car. More compliant ride, better quality, and more affordable.
@@HoraceHarriott yeah the top of the line g70 only has 360 horsepower while the ATS V has 464. Definately not in the same class. One is a sport sedan the other is a super sedan. In what world would someone be cross shopping an ATS V vs a g70??? More relatable cars would be the C63, M3, RS 4 or 5
John Wayne "I think the G70 that you just tested with the 3.3L is a better value and much better car." I hope that's a fucking joke. The ATS-V has VASTLY better performance then the G70. In every measurable way.
This blows the door off of the new CT4-V so-called replacement hands down!! This model is just badazz! The styling is artfully aggressive! Cadillac going backwards once again!!!
Grumbles about the interior....Starts driving it...Cackles like SATAN....Something tells me SATAN was whispering in your ear, "SCREW THE INTERIOR! STAB THE GO PEDAL! AGAIN! AGAIN!" 😈🤣
I went from daily driving a 2016 ATS v to a 2018 Alfa Giulia QV and your spot on that it feels like your driving something special with the Alfa and driving a top of the line Chevy in the Cadillac (and This coming from a pontiac loyalist till they killed the brand). but on the Quarter mile I got identical performance (and launch control in the ATS). All that said I found an ATS V with zero options, except for heads up display, and was driving it for 1/2 the payment vs the Alfa (same down payment and near identical rate). I can’t wait for the 2020 CT3-v (and pray nightly it’s equipped with variable all wheel/rear wheel option)!
I’m anxiously awaiting the next gen Cadillac sedans as well. I know an ingeneer in Michigan working for GM but they’re not allowed to talk about future products. Damn, I really want to know what’s coming! Lol
Thanks SB , when I test drove it myself I found the ATS-V was like tempest in a tea pot power comes on wildly on boost and it was frenetic in character..... that’s why I went for the CTS-V .....heck might as well go all the way I say! Thanks keep up the great work!
Drove one and it felt so heavy. Great power but it didn’t feel like it could be thrown around very well with all that weight. I know I know, I can’t drive for crap anyway and probably should stick with something I won’t kill myself in but still...
This car is great to drive, but it really needs to be redesigned and made slightly bigger. Next gen, I hope the nail it. I loved the sound actually, basically a V^ played through a Corvette exhaust.
I hate those gauges, love the fact that you can get a stick with ttv6 but hate that the big V8 doesn't offer a stick. GM definitely dropped the ball in that sense.
Highly underrated car. These are fantastic used car buys. used ones with less that 40K miles are selling in the $38 to $42K range. The Alpha platform and that engine is a brilliant combination if you can live with the older versions of CUE and super small back seats.
It's such a great car, but it's a damn shame about the gauges (which the driver is looking at a large amount of the time)... it just shows that the GM beancounters had to rear their ugly heads yet they still demanded a "German" price point. It just makes no sense. Had they unleashed the engineers and only had marginal input from the beancounters this car would be a future classic.
I got rid of a 2016 Cadillac ATS-V because of the horrible 8L90 transmission. The transmission would make an often & intermittent whining noise and bang into 2nd gear when it was cold. I complained about it multiple times and was told that this is, “A characteristic of the vehicle.” I wish I had just gotten an M3. There are also some CTS-Vs with the same issue.
you get horrible chatter with cold brakes on the M3 if you opt for carbon disks and the turbos are an even less reliable MHI unit with more noise. The problems with the 8L90 are solved with a software update.
DC Steve The software had been updated when it started shifting extremely hard...but that still didn’t fix the problem. The transmission would still whine and it still felt like 2nd gear was sticking when stopping. There would also be a jerking when slowing down, as if someone bumped the car from the rear.
What you describe is the exact problem mentioned in the TSB for converter shutter. The dealers should know this and do the proper steps as described and it does remedy the problem. That assumes of course your dealer was doing the job correctly, which in my opinion is the biggest problem facing Cadillac. Too many dealers that half ass quality of work and service.
DC Steve Thanks for the advice...but I got rid of the car on swapalease.com. After repeated repair attempts with the dealer, I just got tired of it...and the CUE screen assembly had to be replaced, the trunk lid had to be repainted, and the right front door had to be aligned (under warranty)...it was my 1st experience with the Cadillac brand and it left me very disappointed.
Thats a real shame. Sounds like your dealer was just not doing their job and some of the first 2016s did have problems. I have a 2017 and have driven the utter hell of this car for more than 30k miles so far, including track time. No problems at all, but my dealer is also very good about remediating any problems. I did however get mine in a 6 speed manual which in my opinion changes the dynamics of this car greatly, though its demonstrated that the 8 speed automatic is overall a faster vehicle. This was also my 2nd V series though, coming from a 2013 CTS-V which again was rock solid in reliability, though somewhat lacking in some materials quality on the interior. The thing that sold me on the ATS-V was how it felt. I reminded me so much of the E36 M3, a car I absolutely loved driving. I really hope Cadillac clears up it's dealer issues and takes better care of it's customers under the new leadership. He did a great job with Chevy Canada in addressing those problems. Johan de Nysschen was a knob and just made things worse in my opinion, glad to see him go.
@redlinereviews. I love my 16 ATSV! 1ST THE HANDLING! OMG 2 the Breaks, its fast as hell, think mine is tuned as there's ZERO turbo lag. Im in track mode all day and it drifts nicely and the ass end ROTATES baby. The recaro seats are bomb but wish it had cooled seats too The Cue is ok.
Since you love this car, I'll let you know that there is a CT5 and CT4 in development right now, and they will get V models equivalent to this. But, they might use the Caddilac exclusive Blackwing V8 & 3.0 TT from the CT6 rather than the LT1 and the 3.6 TT.
my friend bought an ats-v. He regrets it. Here's why. 1. huge turbo lag, but overboost at high revs. Car is quick as a Ferrari 488 (they raced to 160 mph), so it is stupid fast. But mash your throttle and the power curve is a reverse exponential curve. 2. understated elegance means everyone wants to pick a fight with you. Audi S4, Subaru WRX, Civic Si, and other cheapshots always challenge him to a race, wherever he goes. It gets very tiresome 3. Pig fuel economy. 12 mpg on slightly sporty throttle. you'll never see claimed 20 mpg on normal driving. 4. Noise is blurry and cheap. Not like a european sports sedan. 5. CUE gets stuck so you cant use any functions. It freezes up or doesnt listen to your fingers. 6. Friends think its a cheap 4-cylinder civic. No one knows about the V except enthusiasts. Other than that, it is very fast and handles brilliantly. bUt for the money, a corvette z06 is much better, so he's switching to a vette soon.
Yeah. It's made to compete with the 3 series and C class, but it's priced like a base model LS 500. Does not compute on any level. But that is not a new thing for Cadillac, their offerings are all way over priced.
Describing the interior: "It's kind of just the corporate GM parts bin. Of course, this [is] the cut-and-sewn interior." Seems like a rather incongruent statement...
The gauge cluster is a shame, the rest of the interior is actually pretty nice. I was coming from a Evo X so that probably makes the ATS-V look a little better but I have zero complaints about the interior besides the cluster. At the end of the day, I bought it because it handles like a beast and gives me all the performance I need while still being a comfortable dd.
I have driven all the cars in this class. The AMG is so bland, except for the interior and the engine noise. Everyone has an M3 or M4. So for me it came down to the Ats-v, and the Alfa. Ultimately the Alfa is not reliable enough yet for me, so I went with the Ats-v. It is an amazing car, and I've never been a GM fan. But the car is amazing. It has some little American car quirks, but if you love great engineering, chassis, braking, handling....this car is near supercars levels of fun!
Funny thing about you saying it’s not German is that it’s designed in Germany as well as the CTS. I thought long and hard about the CTS V but just couldn’t get past the cheap interior and most of all those butt ugly headlights that run half way to the windshield. But your spot on with the handling and fun to drive, wow, such a drivers car, it really is.
Yea, I've seen this on other channels, I think they just get press cars to review and can't really say "pass" to the manufacturers. Plus they would lose views to people who watch any review since they have nothing esle to do, such as myself 😜
I have a 2016 ATS-V with 20,000 on it, I have had them all M3 911 RS4 S4 335D so I really feel this is one of the best cars I have ever driven hands down. 464 HP 455 Torque it is faster than so many card on the road. Yes expensive, Recaro seats, the interior is not good at all but I bought it off my lease. I could not find a car with that handling and power for anywhere close to the money in 2018. $70,000 and better. Not perfect but a great car.
Yeah, the interior isn't the greatest, but the steering and handling of the ATS was better than anything at the time. You can control the rear end so easily.
One thing to highlight with the Alfa is it is about 13k more base price and there have been many many many issues reported with the Alfa from varying journalist, publications and owners.
Excellent Video! ...My ONLY advice to you is this: Your videos are well made no question!, but since you are taking the time to edit them, I think you should take the time to film acceleration footage in a remote area vs. traffic which "could involve" small children or innocent people, not saying you are giving the car it's full potential during the filming, but I personally think it will make a much better video if you take that footage in a remote area or just wait for the highways to clear out first! I'm sure alot of people will agree on this one??

So funny how so many people can watch you lose your mind over this car, yet still comment "POS, SO BORING PARTS BIN FRANKENSTEIN". Experience vs. Expectations (biases).
Mitchell Steindler that’s so true I mean you can’t blame them
Can't blame them at all.
Sheesh I'm seriously thinking about getting one
@@brandonsherfield6982 me too bro!!
This body style is awesome.
I recently purchased a ‘17 ATS-V sedan a few months ago and I am loving it for the most part.
The CUE has been the only downside so far with the system having to be replaced three times under warranty for issues known to be a problem.
I upgrade my cuescreen and solved the issue. I loved my ats 2.0 t
I'm curious to know how it's working out for you a couple years on. Any major red flags to other perspective owners?
@@daveweisbrich1769 No major issues seen yet.
I've put about 15,000 miles on the car.
I just got a simple stage 1 tune that bumped up the horsepower to 499 at the wheels.
@@fjones1914 Sounds awesome.
@@daveweisbrich1769 It is!
I have to agree with him. The interior is pretty bland and outdated. I cannot say anything negative aside from that.
If anything this car should be much cheaper than it is
Balla Thug it’s all the same shit people just love to bash American cars especially when they’re beating the Europeans
@@anthonymantis502 Thank you
One thing a lot of you guys are forgetting is the fact that this model is on the tail end of the generation and will be redesigned soon.
BuT mY soFT tOuCh lEaTher. How will his delicate skin survive?
I live in the DMV, near Sofyan. You appreciate this car here, because it’s a unicorn in sea of M3’s and 63’s. Regionally, he speaks to me; you sacrifice a little to stand out.
Cadillac - gauges look cheep. Think ferrari, 911 , or bmw. Please get rid of that plastic cue black plastic and add knobs. 2010 cts-v had a much nicer and exciting dash. Beautiful car and excellent engine...but the drivers point of view from the driver seat could be so much better.
I'm sure the next gen version will get the gauges from the new Cadillac Xt4.
BMW gauges look cheap too
Different type of cars
@@cristianchavira8591 They're both 4 door, rear wheel drive, sport sedans. Very much in the same category. Both aiming at the 3 series.
@@HoraceHarriott no...one is aimed at the 3 Series and the other is aimed at the M Series. Totally different
@@HoraceHarriott yeah the top of the line g70 only has 360 horsepower while the ATS V has 464. Definately not in the same class. One is a sport sedan the other is a super sedan. In what world would someone be cross shopping an ATS V vs a g70??? More relatable cars would be the C63, M3, RS 4 or 5
John Wayne "I think the G70 that you just tested with the 3.3L is a better value and much better car."
I hope that's a fucking joke. The ATS-V has VASTLY better performance then the G70. In every measurable way.
Under appreciated, yet you complain about everything on here.. should name the video the over rated
Its not a honda or acura so he won't say anything good about it.
AGAIN! AGAIN!" 😈🤣
victor bozzo You pretty much summed it up! 😂🤣
@@theredline that's pretty much my philosophy.😐😏
I’ve owned many cars. No issue with this interior. CUE system works fine. Not sure why people rag on it.
Lol
CT4 coming this time next year. Should have similar interior to the XT4.
Thanks SB , when I test drove it myself I found the ATS-V was like tempest in a tea pot power comes on wildly on boost and it was frenetic in character..... that’s why I went for the CTS-V .....heck might as well go all the way I say! Thanks keep up the great work!
Love it! Can I get a like for a future Lexus IS-F!?
@@GuiltyNoticer at what???

LEXUriouS Kirk fook Toyota! Buy American u traitor. I would be embarrassed to drive a foreign car!
How bout knowing that your "domestic" cars are chock full of import parts and construction?
Drove one and it felt so heavy. Great power but it didn’t feel like it could be thrown around very well with all that weight. I know I know, I can’t drive for crap anyway and probably should stick with something I won’t kill myself in but still...
wow everyone talks about calipers but look at those 2 piece rotors up front....very nice.
Love this car, very sexy and fast. I don't give two shit about what it sounds like. I like it 👍🏾
This car is great to drive, but it really needs to be redesigned and made slightly bigger. Next gen, I hope the nail it. I loved the sound actually, basically a V^ played through a Corvette exhaust.
Why do all Cadillacs look the same since matrix reloaded movie
Same with bmw
Johann, the old Cadillac chief was a loser.... no differentiation between models.... all sedans look the same, just a matter of scale.
same with mercedes, bmw and audi . . .
Thank Audi for that.
maybe you should open both of your eyes
I hate those gauges, love the fact that you can get a stick with ttv6 but hate that the big V8 doesn't offer a stick. GM definitely dropped the ball in that sense.
Highly underrated car. These are fantastic used car buys. used ones with less that 40K miles are selling in the $38 to $42K range. The Alpha platform and that engine is a brilliant combination if you can live with the older versions of CUE and super small back seats.
I love all the Cadillac V models, they look so mush sleeker, and elegant. This would be my first choice in this segment, I also like the Lexus RCF
How does it not have led turn signals...
Tony Tanti, it may not have a working transmission in it. You might have the do a Fred Flintstone in this thing. Yaba daba doo!!
6 years old. That's how
This caddy is absolutely beautiful and powerful. And loaded with features.
I spend about 2 hours a day commuting in an ATS coupe. Who spends a large amount of time looking at gauges - not me.
I agree with all of your criticism, except the touchscreen, it actually looks bigger than 8 inches and the UI was recently updated.
Looks way better than an M3 and would way rather have this.
My baby!!!!!!!! it's you again!!! every time I look, I see you!!
Most people who are bashing here drive a civic and know nothing about cars
I’m here to see if this car has a solid closing door.
🤣
@redlinereviews. I love my 16 ATSV! 1ST THE HANDLING! OMG 2 the Breaks, its fast as hell, think mine is tuned as there's ZERO turbo lag. Im in track mode all day and it drifts nicely and the ass end ROTATES baby. The recaro seats are bomb but wish it had cooled seats too
The Cue is ok.
The cluster gauge from the 80’s.

I own a 2017 Corvette. I test drove the Cadillac ATS-V and loved the supercharged performance BUT it's the styling and price that killed it.
Oh man this is nice 😍... Need not want.. lol yes I'm a GM guy... Great review 👍🏽
This is what the cts should have became lol. Gen 3 headlights and Gen 2 tail lights. Couldnt ask for better.
The mirror controls are the same as my mother’s 2017 Equinox LTZ lol.
This car is currently on my radar. Love the exterior, i like the mileage, the 8 spd trans. Seems like the perfect daily.
Go to the dealership and tell the salesman...." I don't want halogen lights on this car. Those are inexcusable." 😂😂
Do you have any Grey Poupon?
Since you love this car, I'll let you know that there is a CT5 and CT4 in development right now, and they will get V models equivalent to this.
But, they might use the Caddilac exclusive Blackwing V8 & 3.0 TT from the CT6 rather than the LT1 and the 3.6 TT.
It’s a great car inside and out. But the price tag is outrageous...
You think anyone pays close to sticker on a 6 year old model?
I just wanna know where one finds a 6 yr old ATSV considering the first model year for the ATSV was 2016....
Randomness it was available in 2015 and we’re heading into year 2019 with newer models coming off the production line as we speak.
Ok...if it was available in 2015 and its 2018....thats 4 years, not 6.
Randomness True. You said the first model year was 2016, I was just saying ATS-V was released before 2016 got here.
This car and the CTS-V are badass.
Aka as the sleeper!
my friend bought an ats-v.
It gets very tiresome
Way to much money and Cadillac is axing the ATS anyway
Yeah. It's made to compete with the 3 series and C class, but it's priced like a base model LS 500. Does not compute on any level. But that is not a new thing for Cadillac, their offerings are all way over priced.
It's pretty much a good deal compared to the C63 and M4.
Describing the interior: "It's kind of just the corporate GM parts bin. Of course, this [is] the cut-and-sewn interior." Seems like a rather incongruent statement...
Notification gang!
saint george that’s a fact every single time he’s has a new video
Im about to have one of these bad boys in my garage! Have a ats 3.6 premium with performance package now and love it! Time for an upgrade.
More like Sofyan BAE 😍
My dad test drove a 2017 Cadillac ATS Luxury with the 2.0 turbo 4 cylinder engine. With 8 speed automatic transmission. And AWD last year.
that interior was sad
yeah.. looks like a rental malibu
Better than the shitcan excuse of the Audi rs3
If there is ever a casting call for Frieza, Sofoyan, you are the guy.
Wow Cadillac has Rick's seats short for Ricardo's that's huge not even BMW or Nissan maxima has those seats and I love maxima and. Altima
Nice looking car but too damn expensive.
The good ol General cutting corners. Nice.
This guy should be reviewing women's fashion or interior design
Funny thing about you saying it’s not German is that it’s designed in Germany as well as the CTS. I thought long and hard about the CTS V but just couldn’t get past the cheap interior and most of all those butt ugly headlights that run half way to the windshield.
But your spot on with the handling and fun to drive, wow, such a drivers car, it really is.
I don't get these type of reviews. This car is ancient. Reeks of filler content. It's like reviewing an iPhone 6.
Bert Bert hahahahaha best comment..
Yea, I've seen this on other channels, I think they just get press cars to review and can't really say "pass" to the manufacturers. Plus they would lose views to people who watch any review since they have nothing esle to do, such as myself 😜
Agreed
IPhone 6s plus with the latest software update...
IT'S ONLY BEEN AROUND 5 YEARS !! You wanna talk about ancient, that'd be the BMW 3 series. They haven't changed that thing in like 30 years !!!

This car looks like a econobox on steroids. 😣😣
I getting ready to purchase my 2018 ATSV CE at my lease end. Haven’t found anything else worth living my V for.
Leaving
Gross...Cadillac.
I am addicted to the seat and steering in ATS-V.
Yeah, the interior isn't the greatest, but the steering and handling of the ATS was better than anything at the time. You can control the rear end so easily.
I sure like this and now that they are back from lease maybe I can get one. I like manual too.
One thing to highlight with the Alfa is it is about 13k more base price and there have been many many many issues reported with the Alfa from varying journalist, publications and owners.
I HATE the IP, it's the worst, hopefully Cadillac will address that soon. Always enjoy your reviews/commentary.
Wow youre annoying
Agreed.
Front view looks pretty awesome! I think that's a great color for it too.
