Thanks Steve.
Back to you steve
@@yueqi7499 thanks Intel
@@rawdez_ um what?
@@AbbasDalal1000Um.. what, um what, what?
Loved this GPU round up! Loved seeing the close ups and different angles of the GPUs. Much nicer than trying to look at tiny pics on websites. And nice to see a head to head between manufacturers. Thanks!
OMG. I’ve missed these so badly throughout the shortage era. Hoping for a return to consistent roundup content from HUB!!!
That was awesome. Thermals and noise mean a lot to me so this is great to see. Thanks for doing this. More of them would be great!
This came out at the perfect time to help me pull the trigger on the right card! Thanks for including the physical specs in the video as this helped me figure out I couldn’t fit the MSI versions in my case, and so I pivoted to the rather thicker ASUS tuf oc, because I had room in that direction.
I imagine videos like these are challenging to execute but they are so crucial to making an informed purchasing decision. So, many thanks for the quality information Steve and I’m looking forward to future AIB card roundup videos.
They are so necessary not to buy a 4070, but at least youtubers can make a living by editing videos trying to look for differences of performances as difficult. Just imagine Automotive press having to review all the same engine powered cars in different editions or colors. Or Imacs, pink vs silver vs is that green?
Thank you for having the chart with the length/width/height of each card, very important to us SFF builders! I was able to focus my attention on the 3 cards that would fit in my case.
I was looking for a video like this for so long, love to see it from hardware unboxed!
I realy appreciate all the time and work you guys put into giving us these videos. This is exactly why you are the best. Thank you.
Round up of 7900xt models would be amazing, price is dropping slowly so a lot of mid range buyers might start considering it !!!
but did you see the Jump in price on the 6750xt and the 6950xt , almost like we are heading into another price gouging market Meanwhile Direct distributors and even site sales are still Down , its Clear to see who is doing what where now
@@jamesfox2857 or you know, they probably cleared out the stock of a 2 year old card?
Yes! please do this for the 7900XT if funds allow.
There's nothing to be said about the 7900xt. There's the budget/entry XFX speedster 310 merc and the Sapphire pulse, then you have the Asus tuf and powercolor red devil variants as mid-high tier and lastly the sapphire nitro+ as the very top of the crop.
MSY Australia, ASUS TUF 7900XT AUD $1138* dam good price!
This was great. Thanks for the work and simple presentation of the data. It made up my mind for me. Love the channel. Cheers.
excellent review m8 . when u were talkin about specs i was thinking like : man, it would be really great if he showed us a spec sheet with all the cards just for quick comparison ' and 2 minutes later, there it is . outstanding job.
Awesome work! I'd love to see the same comparison with 4070Tis.
7900 XT or XTX roundup would be nice. Also (as somebody commented earlier) 40dBa noise normalized is rather on the high side, mayby 36dBa will be good middleground - name twin power ftw 😂
I think they chose 40 because it's normal noise for a quiet neighborhood.
@@AaronShenghao yeah but you don't game outside? usually inside your home it's ~35
Unpopular opinion: 33 is unacceptably loud.
Are you a Robot?
40 dBA might be good if it's measured really close to the source. And Steve might simply not have a low-enough noise floor for testing 36 dBA; in GPU reviews he often says things like "barely audible over the sound of the case fans".
Great analysis, would love to see more of these kinds of comparisons.
Thanks for the video and the awesome info. Please do more of these for the mid-range to high end GPUs. I am sure people do love watching these.
A single game benchmark that shows how little the clockspeed difference matters would have been nice, but other than that absolutely stellar format for a roundup.
I thought i entered twilight zone. I said exact same about fanboys having a Karen moment with thermal meters like 5 mins ago in a completely different 4070 review video :D
You should show the power limits of each model at some point in the video, as it does have an impact on performance. For example, the gaming x trio has a base power limit of 215w and can go up to 240w whereas most of the other models max out at 220w. From my testing, going from 200w to 215w on the gaming z trio has about a 5% performance increase, and going up to 240w boosts performance by over 10% which is nothing to scoff at.
Such a helpful video, thank you!
Just love what you guys do, it's very appreciated
I love these kinds of videos when shopping for a new card. Noisier cards are a big nono for me. That said, I really would appreciate a graph of noise during stock operation just like you do with the temps. Noise normalized is all well and good but it's hard to judge the user experience from that.
Keep up the good work!
I bought an Asus Dual 4070 for my Mini ITX HTPC and I have to say that it's great.
Short, only one 8pin, and 3080 performance but with only 200 W.
same (almost)
And you can easy undervolting to 20-30% without losing perfomance!
Dude thanks for all the awesome content. I’ve had a laptop for 3 years, it’s a 7 year old design so upgrading is definitely in my future.
You have a video for most things that I’ve had questions for. I appreciate the hard work.
The last time you guys did a GPU round up was for the 6600xt in 2021, good to have these videos back
Would've been nice to have a chart of maximum power allowance/slider on each GPU. Because MSI for example hard power limits many of their models to below Nvidia Fe levels in the bios. Lower end models, like the Ventus, yes, but also some you don't expect like watercooled ones; MSI Seahawk X 3080 had less power limit than Nvidia Fe. Kinda sucks for tinkering.
Great overview! A Palit/Gainward card would have been nice as comparison, they are sold quite cheap in Europe
I have Palit RTX4070 JetStream and if we look on the cooling system is awesome (3 FANs & 6 heat-pipes); if You don't need LEDs is best cheap option
I saw the cheapest being sold here in NL (Europe) the Inno3D and KFA2, both hit lowest price €600 (inc. VAT)
We get inno3d and zotac here. Unsure if good or cheap rubbish
I was waiting for a video like these for a couple weeks. Is the first decent review I saw of GB Eagle.
Nice Round up ! Missed them ! Nice to see some focus on nonHalo product & power sippers - 200w ! Dream 1440p box w sub 100w cpu - can go small instead of mega tower & mega cooling .
Thanks for including less known/mainstream brands. There's even more of them in Europe and are cheaper than ASUS/GIGABYTE/MSI, but lack of reviews makes it hard guess if they are worth getting.
Great video, thanks. The Asus Dual OC, and a few more basic models, has just dropped in price, as least in the UK, to £530 @Scan (FE is £570 RRP). Looks a great card for a SFF build (Ncase M1) and 1x 8pin cable helps too. Mine should arrive in a couple of days, so fingers crossed!
the white one or the black? im looking for a white gpu and im between 4070 / super asus white oc and 7800 xt hellhound spectral white
Thanks for covering the various 4060 models
Good content as always, thank you.
great job as usual, 4070ti roundup would be great
Noise Normalized Testing is the way to go. Still running my 2080 MSI Trio X - it was also the best in the past 👍
Agreed, love my 2070 super trio X
Love the video! Quick correction, early in the video you mention the Asus dual doesnt have dual bios. Can confirm it has a quite mode switch on the top as shown next the power connector in the video. Would be cool to see how these changes effect noise adjusted results but understand that's a lot of extra work
YES! This is great.
Absolutely what I needed, since im looking for a new GPU and a single pov for comparison between the GPU manufacturers is much appreciated.
Love my Eagle OC card. Mine was boosting happily to 2950 out of the box. Undervolts beautifully. 4070 may have its issues (price and 12GB) but DAMN is it efficent. As someone living in the UK, power usage is a big decider for me. Upgraded from 3070 for both the little extra VRAM and lower power. Can't fault it and definetly don't regret the purchase. DLSS3 is pretty magic too.
You wasted your money.
I bought the PNY 3 fan model 4070 and have been very impressed with it after about 6 weeks. Super cool and quiet so would have been interesting to see how it compared. A$979 so at the cheaper end of the scale too
Bought the 2 fan Verto version, so far very impressed with it, very quiet with good temps.
Hey! The founders edition is available in my region but im confused between the founders edition and the asus dual oc, which one should I get? (Performance based)
thank youuuuu. You guys are awesome!!❤
Please do the same for 7900 XTX! There are some really good designs out there. And being that it’s sold for under $1000 now makes it a great competitor to the 4080.
I'd be interested in seeing a similar comparison of the 4080s. According to Techpowerup's review the PNY Verto XLR8 OC runs very cool and very quiet, and it'd be interesting to see a second opinion on that, since review's are scarce for the new PNY consumer stuff.
AIBs partners reuse designs across as many GPUs as possible to reduce cost. I would be confident in just using this video as indicative relative performance for the 4080 AIB models, especially given the similarity of the 4070 and 4080.
@@michaelan9688 Thing is, this is a completely different cooler design from the 4080 and 4090 PNY models, and the 4080 is a much hotter card in general.
Mate you can go with any fat 4080 and it'll be pretty quiet or essentially silent like my msi one
@@IVPixel The big reason it's interesting to me is that according to tehcpowerup it's very cool while being measurably quieter (multiple db) than many of the others, a bit like the MSI model, which is very impressive for (apparently) their first in-house designed consumer cards (not just rebranded galax), while also being a lot cheaper than the msi equivalent. However it's only one review, and it would be very interesting to see another take on it.
Techpowerup 4070 is PNY triple fan😉
thumbs up for doing quite a bit of work!
Have they resolved GPU sag with the backplates yet? It has been a while since I've puchased a new GPU. The TUF and MSI Gaming are gigantic and look like they will sag and\or put a lot of pressure on the slot, etc.
Thank you for this video.
It would be great if you'll do a 4070ti roundup.
TBH, I'd love a like to like comparison of stagnant performance.
For example
So 4060->3070-2080->1080ti
This certainly isn't a perfect matchup, but you get the idea.
How new gen and new drivers match up against old gen and old drivers.
Bump
Would've been nice to see some FPS comparisons between each model. To see if there is any noticeable difference between the variations.
In most cases, no, there won't be a difference. Unless you're someone that can spot a 1-4 fps difference.
just pick the highest mhz and lowest temps: msi gaming x trio
@@ARealPainI mean, people won’t have to “spot” the difference, it will show in the FPS Counter… But I know what you mean, I’m just nitpicking and being a smartass 😅
But nonetheless, it would be neat to see the slight differences in FPS, mainly the averages and which ones sustain a higher FPS the longest.
I will say though, I do like and appreciate the card’s performance testing for temps, boosting, and sound comparisons amongst their respective series. I would like to see these tests roll out shortly after the FPS review tests. Though I know, HWU and many other channels, are working hard to do those initial tests and reviews when a GPU launches and they probably do not have enough GPUs from that series’s tier to do this type of comparison right away.
@@leo-ub6nb i get ya. Get the most of out of the card tier.
As long as none of them are near thermal limit with their cooling solutions (the 4070 is not) then you just pick the one with the highest allowable power draw and then the rest is RNG binning for how far you can OC it.
If I get a chance to get the founder model of 4070 do I get it or pick the Asus Dual OC version (which is my personal fav at the moment)? Btw thanks for this video @steve.
For the Asus Dual you said 2:36 that it does not have dual BIOS, but in the table it says it does have it??
My MSI 3080 Gaming X Trio i've had since Launch is still a cool, quiet beast. My next card will likely be an MSI card too - they're built like tanks and the coolers Are top notch.
Claim backed up by facts, if you are not a believer, replay the video! :))
Just some friendly advice though I'm sure you've heard it before, never buy a product for the brand as all brands make good and bad products.
When you feel the time is right to upgrade, look at reviews and go with whatever card is the best for your budget 👍
Yeah I love my RX580 Gaming Plus too still, hitting the same 1421MHz boost clock as when I got it & so quiet while keeping it's self cool.
they do a really good job with their OC Models but for some reason on MSRP ones they do cut some corners that shouldn't be cut like the VRAM Cooling on the Ventus.
@@TBD_TeebsK
MSI makes their share of cheap cards too, every company does.
An A770 round up would be nice as there's interesting differences with regards to memory clock speeds as you can't overclock said memory. On top of that, some of the designs available are just out there like the Acer Bifrost compared to conventional coolers. Potentially including the A750s as well to bulk out the line up would be a good idea.
aren't there only 1 model of the A770?
@@LiLBitsDK Huh? There's 2 overall models from Intel, one with 16 GB of VRAM and another with 8. Then there's the partner models of which I think there's another 4. Acer makes one, Asrock makes another, and Gunnir makes two. I forgot about Sparkle which make another two I think. So, 8 models of the A770 in total.

@@aeromotive2 yawn?
perfect timing for this video, hey steve do you know anything about palit cards? 4070 palit dual is the cheapest here and looks like PNY one, maybe are they just very similar
I noticed that the fan speed on the Ventus model is different for the GPU temp vs the hot spot temp. Is this a mistake? Swapped with zotac or windforce models?
Thats exactly what we need to make a choice please make more similar content ❤
Steve please do a 7900xt roundup as these things are falling in price. You can pick them up from £730.00 making it now one of the best price to performance gpu this generation.
Awesome stuff, thanks
I don't know if I'm missing something but a few of the test numbers or names seem to be swapped around? "Ventus 3X" and "Windforce OC" are swapped in the GPU temp test, and "Zotac/Ventus 3X are swapped in the Hot spot test.
All i can say is that we really live in the dark times of PC gaming, a 600$ card being just a 70 class card is crazy to me. Looks like my gtx 1070 ti will be the last Nvidia card i bought.
I don’t see much from AMD side though. I want a 7800 or 4070 - the RDNA3 power efficiency doesn’t look very good, but I also don’t want a 12G card
The guys at Harbor Boxed did it again! Thank you
I had a 310mm length limit on my last build, a side by side roundup like this is nice.
Did you finally manage to get your hands on the aorus master eventually? I’d like to see how that stacks up
The MSI Ventus 3 is a faulty design: its cooler does not touch the upper memory chips (above the GPU die) at all.
Yup, that's one card I would recommend people avoid at all cost and return it if they already have one. The plastic backplate is not helping either.
@@deuswulf6193 I wonder why @hardwareunboxed doesn't mention this. I understand in the real world it may not have immediate negative impact, but what about long term impact?
The VRM temp is not displayed in current software tools, so you can't really see the impact, it would need to be measured with a thermal image.
I would also recommend avoiding this card just because we don't know how it hold up because of this design flaw.
A round up of the 7900xt would be awesome. Than I could convince my wife that I need one..
You should be convincing her that you need a 7900XTX. Honestly, the 7900XT isn't worth it over a 6950XT considering the current price difference
hey i have a question.... i had a 2080ti from gainward phoenix inside my pc ... now she died and i wana upgrade to an 4070... i read everywhere that it has a PCIE 1x8pin... is this the same as my oold 2080ti had ? just that i need to plug in only 1 of the 8pin cables ? thx in forward already =)
What do you do with all these GPU's when you're done testing? Do you have to return them all to the suppliers?
I have the ASUS Dual and im very happy with it, especially that I got it a bit under the MSRP. Thermals are great ( core is maxing out at 60 and mem at 71 ), noise is very low and overall quality is very good. Coil whine is very little, can barely hear it over the case fans and I have PC on the desk.
Dobrá volba 🤝
I got it last week as well. After reading all the reviews, the dual has the best performance/cost.
Was also looking at this one. Looks really basic, but still decently performing. I dont care about RGB, the damn things are expensive enough as-is :P
@@The_Noticer. I wouldn't consider it basic. It has ASUS's sci-fi theme known as PRIME going for it. See Asus PRIME motherboards for an example.
My Gigabyte has no coil whine tho.
You staed earlier in the video the asus dual card did not have a dual bios but then later you said that it does, so which is it?
Should i get the 4070 asus tuf or gdt the 4070 aero white? Cause im going eith a white build but i would rather get performance what should i do?
Very impressed by the Gaming X Trio. I like the design too. I hate how overpriced the Strix cards got, Asus is out of their mind.
I understand it is hard, dependent on other things and takes a lot of time.
But maybe if you could consider 30db for noise normalized tests as 40db in my opinion is way too high, and sometimes it can differ on lower sound compared to higher.
Anyways I'm still thankful for the incredibly vast amount of data & information, helpful indeed.
30 is really low, dependent on where they are the noise floor might be higher than that.
Yeah 30 is way too low sorry.
My fan runs at 80 db 💀
@@Hardwareunboxedhow close to the gpu do you measure the 40db?
30 is too low, but 40 is also pretty high (depending on the distance measured). 35db at 20” ~ 1/2m is a good middle term and more reasonable (is also used by a couple of testers like Steve from GamerNexus for Cooler noise)
omg ty, here in my country i was looking all prices and for some reason has a asus dual for a good price but didnt know if it's fine or not, was thinking to pair with R7 7700x, what you guys think? i acc any suggestions
Did you set the switch on "p" on the asus dual oc? Btw.. nice round-up
7900XT at it's lower price is definitely worth considering over this card.
Very true
In my country 7900xt cost 37,6 % more at that point i would just buy rtx 4080. so not fair comparsion plus in europe one also need to look how much eletricy card takes.
I think they are completely different products, 4070 pulls 200w max and can be a 2 slot design!
@@janvarga4023 RTX 4080 is £350 more than the 7900XT in the UK and the performance difference is marginal, plus it uses less power than a 4080.
@@Golden_AceDBD I suggest the 7900XT as it is currently cheaper (in the UK) than the 4070ti, with the performance closer to a 4080. The addition of 20GB of VRAM makes it a good (if not great) value for money option. Yes, if you can't stretch to that, then the 4070 is the best option out of the latest generation offerings. The 7900XT is a fraction over 2 slots. It's definitely no XTX, which is a clear 3 slot design.
Wow MSI blowing away the competition for thermal performance!
are you talking about the model that costs almost as much as 4070ti?
@@rain-er6537 Where do you buy the 4070 ti at $640? I want to buy one
@@rain-er6537 Did I mention price in my comment?
The cooling is overkill for a 200w GPU.
I did the Trio as a quick decision when spec'ing my system. so far it has delivered good framerates and a very quiet performance. Part of my decision to go 4070 was relatively low power draw, noise and that I didn't want a system that was super hot in the room.
Amasing analysis. Congrats.
The biggest disappointment that nobody talks about is the quality control of these graphics cards. I had to return the 4070 Ventus 3x twice due to a throbbing cooler and an abnormal coil whine that was louder than the cooling system in total.
well i have one and friend of mine has also one, no issues 🤷♂
Ventus did have some problem with coolling in both 2000/3000 series, you are not the only one with that problem.
Throbbing cooler ~.~
@@Rspsand07 bros head is in the gutter
@@lastexile6924 I probably lucked out when I had a ventus dual rtx 2060 two years. Thing ran with 0 issues.
Given the current price drops of the 7900xt making it decent value for money, it would be awesome if you could do a similar video for the Radeon side of things
Im glad with these comparisons you're not wasting time doing gaming benchmarks and putting it towards the more useful information surrounding the card itself.
It means manufacturers need to focus on something other than getting the 30 second boost to run very high :P
Can I see anywhere what game was used for the benchmarking, and at what settings? I would like to compare the 4070 with other models.
Unless you're one of the rare people who mounts their GPU vertically, all metal designs, or even just the front design overall are useless. Once you put it in your PC, you'll never see it again until the next time you unplug the card. If looks are important, the backplate and the side edge designs are the most important.
😮, the video I was praying for, looking for a 4070 at the minute!
why though
Me too
4070 is poo poo
Hi steve
I don’t know buy which one
Msi gaming trio or asus dual OC
Gimme an idea❤
Can you make an OC limits comparison with these same models? I'm curious if the 8 pins and 12 pins have diferents power limits.
You made a mistake it’s supposed to be 4060 not 70.
It does feel like the rtx 4070 is the most affordable card that is still purchase worthy in the current gen.
It's a £600-700 4050Ti with a different name LOL absolute farce as per usual from Jenson - Nvidia get a big ZEROOOOOOOOO from me as per the last 6 years.
It’s fine tbh I don’t get why people hate on it, that’s my opinion since before the 4060 release
Absolutely not "purchase worthy" lmfao
it's not worth the money.
@@fwabble 4050Ti would be low end card. 40 series is overpriced, 4070 should be $400-450, but it is definitely not low end card. It is capable of outputting 120-140 fps in latest games like RE4 and Hogwards on ultra settings with RT 1080p, don't be a clown, it should probably be 4060Ti, but definitely not 4050Ti.
Hi HUB! What are your thoughts on GB's PCB cracking debacle and their bad warranty policy?
will there be a similar video with 4080s?
🤯🤯 DON'T BUY MSI VENTUS X3 , BIG BIG PROBLEM WITH VRM NOT HAVING ANY CONTACT WITH THE HEATSYNK 🤯
The VRM is actively cooled. There are three power stages that aren't, some will be for the memory. Has anyone shown this to be an issue? As in do the components run excessively hot? My card never throttled for example.
Is there any significant difference between the 4070 TUF Gaming and the OC version?
I'm thinking of buying one them but the difference is only $500MXN, around $20USD.
I know Msi ventus had several problems with poor build and several but does this problems in quality also happen in the msi trio?
I wonder the factory boost clock oc from factory (the only thing distinguishing some of the Gigabyte models) affect performance.
I just bought the Gaming X Trio a week ago, this is pretty awesome to hear.
Between the Asus dual and Asus TUF Gaming, how would you go about it in picking one of the two?
what is the dual bar he is talking about? I searched for the dual bar but Google showed me something about the resizable bar. Could someone explain what is dual bar?
He's saying Dual Bios with a thick accent....Its a switch on the card that will let you toggle between silent/performance modes.
Color me surprised regarding the MSI Gaming Trio, jumped from bottom of the list to the absolute best in a matter of 1 second. Those cooling result are absolutely impressive.
I was already interested in MSI Gaming X Trio variant and your stats just confirmed that it is indeed the best one to go for. Thanks
Probably a stupid question but, can anyone explain what does 'dual bar support' refer to? Thanks
Bit confused Steve is the Asus DUAL RTX 4070 OC a Dual BIOS card or not?
U guys know if the ventus x2 it's better or worse then 3x?
Great work as always! 4080’s next please! I have the MSI Gaming Trio
