Movie is really good actually, just saw it in Luna cinema perth. Going in without watching the trailer was pretty great when the dog scene came around. 10/10 for sound design, visuals and great use of the 'coming of age' theme.
Saw this last night and loved it. Definitely one of Hosoda's best, feel like there's elements of Satoshi Kon seeped into this. Probably his most adept and amusing film so far. His other works have a lot of heart but can lack subtlety and complexity, which I feel is more present in Mirai. Even the trailers don't really do it justice and make it seem more like his previous films, whereas I think it's a step above.
They lost all credibility when Miyazaki's The Wind Rises lost to Frozen. It showed that as far as the animated category goes, it is purely a popularity contest, nothing more.

Dragon Ball Super Broly has stunning visuals, a great story, aside from a few issues and great voice acting. The animation, compositing, direction, music, and sound are all done with great effort and turned out to be a great movie. Dragon Ball Super Broly deserves at least some recognition. This movie beats the other boring, children's 3D animated features.

I Watched it on netflix for my first time ever and i fell inlove with anime. it's cartoons for adults! Very relatable....great storyline love the face expressions of the characters in the story :) i thought kun was being so rude to his sister hitting her over the head with his train 😣The parents had alot of patience.... I loved when the grandma came to visit her daughter and she told her "you raise kids with good intentions" that hit me hard being i am a mother i feel the stories have moments when the viewers can learn a thing or two. Great story about the future i am very please since im 27 and it was my first time ever in my life watching anime i just never understood it before. I love it this is a movie older children would appreciate too!
Since you're a mother i really hope you don't neglect your first child after your second one and so on. The mother in this anime was awful, at least that's how she was portrayed in the movie. Always neglecting the boy while giving 90% of her attention to the daughter, i was shouting in my head like play a little with your boy for fuck sake or teach him how to act with the baby instead of expecting him to know everything from being scolded. She was a very bad mother, good thing the tree was there because this anime could've ended ugly. Good intentions don't make up for good education and real care, i think the anime had a subliminal message about child neglect by using that strange phrasing. No one ever says to a mother that they raised their child with good intentions unless they want to infer that he/she failed in raising that child which was the subliminal message in this anime at least from my point of view. Take care of your children folks, don't be assholes. It's not that hard.

time travel is my most favorite type of genre--- the longing, feelings of emptiness and the tearjerk fest is inevitable.
The art style is even similar to Wolf Children as well. Mamoru Hosada and his team do superb work! Definitely watching this!
