I remember when those came out. Many people left them out in the rain and they rusted so badly, we used to see them at the dump at least a few of them per month. The bikes were only 2 - 3 years old at the time.

hi i am in the UK and in 1981 bought a Murray Baja for £116 it was metallic blue, it was considered by my local bike shop to be the first mountain bike in the uk, it was a better spec than the Raleigh bomber which was only 3 speed. great build brings back so many memories of riding mine over hills and moors.

Nice build bro. Simple just the way I like it. Can you send a link to were you bought all the parts? I just came on the same exact bike and was thinking about doing something just like yours.
    Thanks 🙏

Thank you, all parts used are take-offs parts collected, wheel set from 80's. Mtb, bars are motorcycle motorcross, stem Huffy bmx, and so on. Good luck on your Baja build!

@@hoosiercycles6595 thanks bro. I just watched it also. Good advice one using the zip ties to hold the wheels in place.
I’ve never worked on a bike so all advice is welcome. Thanks again 🙏

80's mtb's great souce for wheel sets, axles without quick release, although you can swap out axles
