Good evening everybody, I hope you're well! There's no Pit Stop Sunday this week but instead here is a video that is quite overdue, and that is when I - with some help - fitted a set of Eibach Lowering Springs to 'Leo', my Mk2 SEAT Leon Cupra. Big thanks to the guys who assisted in the garage, and also to DPM Performance for sorting out a bit of discount on the springs. Head to www.dpmperformance.co.uk/car-parts/seat/leon/eibach-20mm30mm-sportline-lowering-suspension-springsleon-1p-20052013-20tfsi-cupra-20tsi-fr-20tdi-fr if you want to get a set for yourself.
I bought a Leon with these on. If you like feeling every bump n crack in the road, then they are for you. However the FR OEM springs are lower than the standard set up & far more comfortable than the eibach•
@@CarObsession FR springs are lower than the standard springs that are fitted to none FR models. The eibachs I had were 30mm lower than the factory fitted FR springs. Needless to say I removed them and threw them in the bin 🗑️
@@CarObsession I think the lower ride & less comfort may suit some people more than others. The roads here in England are not in brilliant condition & a lot of areas have potholes , so maybe not suitable bfor those reasons
Would this be the same procedure for a 2.0lt 2007 leon referenced sport 🤔, if not can anyone point me in the right direction for a how to for my model. Thanks in advance.
Hi sorry in my previous reply to you when I said ( I’m surprised ) I was referring to the fact it doesn’t effect the insurance. Badly written by me. 🤓👍🏻
Ah I see. Greenlight Insurance is designed for modified cars so they only charge more for increases in power. Things like exhaust, springs, spacers, etc won't change the premium 👍🏽
Haha, I'm far from an accomplished mechanic so it would be wrong of me to teach people how to suck eggs especially when I can just about do it myself 🤣. Thanks for watching.
Hi Martin, thanks for watching, and thanks for the comment. I would have done, but the job took longer than expected and by the time I was done I had no to time to seek out decent roads (I don't have many decent driving roads on my doorstep).
@@CarObsession I’ve got an 07 cupra stage1 by rtech in gun metal grey mate and front spring snapped!👎🏻 so got to replace it, but for a proper one from vwag is over £200!! So cheaper to replace all 4 and wanted to know how good the eibach are for daily use 👍🏻 that’s why I commented, would of been good to hear some feed back on them, cheers bro✌🏻
@@martinmsport2750 Hi Martin, at 7:20 onwards I commented on the ride compared to the shock springs, so hopefully that information is sufficient. Another reason why I did not go to any B roads is because the wheel alignment had not been done, so I wanted to have that done first before I did any serious driving. I drive the car often (not quite on a daily basis) and I have no issues with the ride. Yes, it's still firm, but I would argue it's better than stock. Hope this helps.
@@CarObsession sweet as mate really appreciate you messaging me back man, il probably be getting those springs on Friday (payday) 😀 I’m changing my job in the next couple of weeks and will be getting a company van so will only really be using it at the weekend, and the mot is due on Friday as well 😂 all fun n games!

Thx for the video because of you iam gonna install the same spring on my cupra
@@furkanozata5032 Cheers Furkan, good luck!
Thanks for the info, will try doing my Cupra this weekend 👍👍

How can the FR springs be lower than the Cupra? 🤔

@@SnowflakePolice1 Interesting as I only heard good things and my own experience has been positive.

Well looked a lot better and glad it's not too harsh. My friend has lowering springs on his doesn't feel too harsh to me
Hi mate, thanks for watching.
nice springs, the fact that you did this job mostly yourself, you're more than halfway to a mechanic :) well done
Thanks mate
Great video, hope to see more mods on the leon.
Keep up the good work 👍
Thanks mate, they'll be more videos coming, thanks for watching 👍🏽
hahahaha the lights. And yeah, doing mechanics on anything younger than a mid 90s car can be very hard work.
5:42 I had the same crack on my Leon 1p 1.4 tsi, while driving!!!
Not good! Thanks for watching.
how much did it lower the car 20mm or 40mm im thinking about doing this to my leon tfsi plus the short shiftier
Hi Dan, as mentioned at 6:43, it's 20mm at the front and 30mm at the rear. Thanks for watching.

Hi Liam, I'd be surprised if it's different. Thanks for watching.
Nice video. Thank you
No worries, thanks for watching 👍🏽
Wha mm spring are they
Did thia improve the handling of the car?
Hi Kyle, thanks for watching. Yes they did - I'm hoping to film a follow up video at some point.
Just curious how much has it affected your insurance premium changing your car from stock. 🤓
Makes no difference. I'm with Greenlight, so they only charge more for power upgrades. Thanks for watching.
Thanks for the reply I’m surprised. Love the vid’s keep up the good work 👍🏻
@@iansimons7466 I always reply where possible pal 👍🏽

What am are your springs?
Hi Ryan, what do you mean?
Great video, nice and informative but not trying to teach people to suck eggs. Looks like a nice subtle drop too

Would of been better if you took it down a few b-roads and twisty lanes

Hi there, thanks for watching. Those are my driving gloves.
