Arkansas State Police Pursuit | Don't Forget Your Girlfriend

- For the latest in your demonetized enjoyment: On Friday, August 28th, 2020 while patrolling northbound on I-555, in Poinsett County, Arkansas, Trooper Blaine Middlecoff was ovetaken by a black passenger car displaying Florida tags. Middlecoff ran the tags displayed via ACIC, and the return indicated that the tags had expired in June 2020. Middlecoff initiatd a traffic stop on the suspect vehicle at the 20 mile marker northbound.
“I then approached the suspect vehicle on the passenger side and immediately smelled the odor of marijuana emitting from the vehicle. I observed a male occupant (operator) and a female occupant (passenger), and I advised I was Trooper Middlecoff with the Arkansas State Police and advised the operator of the vehicle he was being stopped for expired license registration. I then asked for his license, registration, and proof of insurance. The suspect was only able to provide his license and a rental agreement at the time. It was at this time I asked the suspect to exit the vehicle and meet me at the rear of his vehicle.
Once at the rear of the vehicle I asked the suspect if there were any illegal items within the vehicle or on his person, in which he stated there [were not]. The suspect stated he had smoked marijuana earlier in the day but did not have any with him.
I then did a quick search for weapons on the suspects person and walked back to the vehicle and asked the passenger if there were any drugs within the vehicle. The passenger stated there was nothing illegal in the vehicle and stated she was on her period. I then asked the passenger to step out of the vehicle. The passenger again stated she was on her period before exiting the vehicle. Once out of the vehicle I observed a large bulge within the lower portion of the passenger’s front waistband. I asked her what the bulge was, and she stated it was a pad for her period. I then advised her I knew it was not a pad and to pull it out from her waistband. The passenger then pulled a small baggie of suspected marijuana out from her waistband and handed it to me. I then placed the bag on the front of the suspect vehicle and escorted the passenger to where the suspect and Cpl. McLaughlin was standing.
It was at this time I returned to the suspect vehicle to search for any other illegal items within. When I opened the front driver door, I immediately observed a 40 round rifle magazine in the door pocket. Then I observed the barrel of a rifle just under the driver seat. It was at this time I made the decision to place both subjects into custody until my investigation was complete. As I approached the suspect, he fled towards his vehicle, escaping my attempt[s] to detain him. * * *
Cpl. McLaughlin and I entered our patrol unit, leaving the passenger, and began pursuing the suspect. As we were pursuing the suspect, I reached speeds of 120 mph before catching up to him approximately 3 miles from the stop location. The suspect entered the 24 exit onto State Highway 463. He then immediately returned to I-555 southbound in attempt to flee into Tennessee. As I caught up to the suspect - reaching speeds of 130mph - I observed him weaving in and out of traffic, almost striking multiple vehicles. I was then able to get close enough to perform a PIT to end the pursuit. On my first attempt the suspect engaged his brakes, disrupting my positioning. I then attempted to reposition for a second attempt, but the suspect continued to cut me off and brake to keep me from getting in position. I was able to get in position a third time but again the suspect braked and attempted to ram the side of my patrol unit. After regaining control, I was once again behind the suspect vehicle as he continued to flee. After many attempts to regain a good position for a PIT, I was able to PIT the suspect vehicle as he tried once again to brake. This sent us both into the median of I-555. The suspect was able to regain control of his vehicle and proceed onto I-555 southbound.
It was at this time I performed a second PIT which stopped the suspect in the median. I was then able to take the suspect into custody without further incident.
Once the suspect was in custody and in the back of my patrol unit, I searched the suspect vehicle for any more illegal items. That search ultimately revealed - among other things - 168 grams of marijuana, $7,128 cash, and multiple loaded firearms.
The suspect vehicle was towed from the scene by Rusty’s Towing. The passenger, whose first name is allegedly “Maddie,” was never located. The suspect, Randy Blackburn, was arrested and transported to Poinsett County Detention center on charges of felony fleeing, reckless driving, speeding, resisting arrest, possession of firearms by prohibited person, simultaneous possession of drugs and firearms, possession of schedule 6 with purpose to deliver, and possession instruments of a crime.

Not only ran off.. but physically shoved her out of the way.
I think she might need to make better choices.
I understand the officers emotions right now. Been down that road. The adrenaline and then anger hits you hard.
I was going to say that when he finally got him stopped, you could hear the adrenaline in his voice when he told him to get out of the car. It sounded like he was going to cry, but I know he was just mad. This officer deserves a raise after that takedown.!! Lol

IMO, Scott McLaughlin, the trooper who was in the right seat was the main reason things went bad from the get-go. He let the driver wander around while he just stood there and did not maintain control of the situation. After the pit, he was more concerned about his car than helping assess and control the situation. At one point, you can hear trooper Middlecoff apologize for damaging the squad car. McLaughlin wasn't doing anything to help Middlecoff search the perp's car but stood idly by occasionally looking at the damage to the squad car. If he was doing his job, the perp would not have regained entry to his car and sped away.
I'm not sure what he was there for. Probably related to the Governor or something.
My best guess is/was trooper in training
I got 38 cases pending trials. 63 in active investigation, another 250 on the log I can't clear.

I noticed that too. As soon as the girl came over they should have been made to lean on the bumper and stay or be detained in cuffs. They smelled and found weed which could have been enough to detain until car was searched. The old man wanted to chat instead of staying aware of the situation.
Then he chatted with the arrestee and walked around the car like a turtle, never assisting his partner.
And if a frog had wings, it wouldn't bump its ass when it hopped.
Holy shit this Trooper's partner is the worst, doesn't do anything while the suspect is fidgeting around, and doesn't even jump out and help with the arrest when they stop the car, he just strolls in after oh my god haha
Must be the supervisor
LOL and after the suspect speeds off, that trooper is just casually walking back to the car.
It's the good cop bad cop routine, one is good at their job and the other is terrible at it 😂

I know they had to, but it still made me laugh when they left the girlfriend on the side of the road while they chased after him.
I didn’t find that funny. Something could’ve happened to her. Yeah , she tried to cover for her boyfriend, put yourself in her shoe. Would you want to be left on the side of the road like that?
@@trishisback838 - There's relatively little that could have happened to her, and the potential negatives of hypothetically being hit by a passing car or being generally inconvenienced are more than made up for by the positive outcome (to her) of being able to flee and escape any identification, charges or repercussions whatsoever! 😂
And anyway, it was a necessary action taken by the officers. The suspect fleeing in possession of a gun posed more of an overall risk than did leaving the woman beside the road. And it's against protocol to take her with them in a pursuit, because of the risk if they were involved in an accident. And leaving an officer with her would have made the pursuit more difficult and more dangerous, because only one officer would be driving, operating the radio and taking the suspect into custody.
She left the scene too. Such scummy behavior. She would have been charged.
😂😂😂

In hindsight, when he saw the gun under the seat he probably should have made sure it was unloaded and "safe" prior to going back to put cuffs on the guy.

Females always playing the victim. You don't think she was smoking that weed with him? You don't think she knew he had that assault rifle in the car? The trooper knew he had it after searching the car for 3 minutes. She rode with him in said car for days/hours. She even tried to conceal the weed from the troopers. She needs to be arrested right along with him.

7:03 the moment you could tell his plan to split. Mr Officer on the right side should have been paying more attention, been more in control.
When he was looking completely down swatting bugs, I knew he wasn’t going to be of much help. True until the end, he barely lent a hand except only after the cuffs were on.

The fat cop was too busy grazing the pasture and day dreaming of Kentucky fried chicken 😁😁
Did you not watch this video? One cop did everything while the other only made it worse or did nothing whatsoever.
As soon as the officer opened that driver side door to start his search, that's exactly when the guy got super antsy and started planning to run. His whole body language completely changed. Surprised the other officer didn't pick up on it. They should probably be detaining (cuffing) occupants of a vehicle before they begin a vehicle search.
I don't agree, detaining someone and not finding anything isn't exactly ideal either. So it's a balance I suppose.

Rule #1 take car keys
yea but do they listen? Naw they'd druther keep it inneresting
One habit I adopted was having the driver turning the vehicle off and have'm put the keys on top of the cab or hand them to me before removing the occupants and hand them back to the licensed driver upon completion of traffic. Just baffles me why many LEO's don't do that in a lot of their stops. High speed pursuits does amp you up, but you got to know when to amp it down, hot headedness doesn't help focusing on the task after detaining the suspect. That was a hell of PIT despite the driver trying evasive maneuvers to counter the PIT, he still got put in the ditch,...or median in this case. TY for the content, enjoy watching ASP do their job, stay safe y'all!

There was. He had a gun too.
Why don't cops pull the keys out of the ignition the first chance they get? I see a lot of these pursuits where were the perp jumps back in the car and takes off
Well first of all they don't have the "Right" to take things that belong to you first of all without reasonable articulable suspicion. As many times I watch people fleeing ya seems like a good thing. BUT in America we still do have rights and we still have freedom of travel without being accosted.

Honesty actually does go a long way, I was pulled over with over an oz of weed once, told him exactly where it was and he only charged me with paraphernalia for the pipe and grinder, he prolly kept the weed for himself tbh, also I forgot to mention the 1/8th I had in the glove compartment and he didn’t even search there so I didn’t leave empty handed lol
Thrilling dream 💭
Noise
That was some kick ass driving officer!!!!
He did all of that to save his girls ass…What a gentleman.
WOW
Not quite... That was his wife's car he crashed after leaving his girlfriend on the side of the highway
That was his side piece, chic didn't mean nothing to him did you see how she look? Definitely a happy meal kind of girl ie... side piece!
He looked shady as hell.
The driver was chatting with the policeman, softening him up, chatting him up, eyeballing him, sizing him up. Waiting for his moment. you can see him multiple times whispering to her that he’s going to takeoff. She turns around and looks at the camera.
That was some insane awesome police work. Well done to those cops and especially to the lead, wow 👏👏👏
You like paying taxes to fix the police car over weed? Totally unnecessary. Just as the gf where he lives...
He so mad because of the fucking paperwork he has to do now.
And he lost his hat.
You do not piss off the Arkansas State Troopers. They are the masters of the pit!
Pitmasters if you will
Willmasters that will pit
Damn that was good work. those Arkansas guys are friendly until you get on the wrong side of em, then they sure get the job done.
WOW!!! Normally the troopers Adrenalin comes down pretty quick. This guy is rightly upset. Thank You ASP.
I’m sorry but 13:50 has me in tears. Idiot got ran over by his own car, and that cop was PISSED. The voice crack when he hollered “SHUT UP” was icing on the cake.😂😂😂😂😂😂
Didn't he ask in the beginning why is the rental car tag expired? Did this guy just rent a car and then keep it?
She'll have him bailed out within the next couple of days
Ride or Die Chick
It's a bad day, when you not only run from the cops but also get run over by your own car. Or at least that's what it sounded like he said.😂
Even your car was pissed that you thought it could go that fast. 😂😂
That trooper’s voice got squeaky af when he got mad 😂
The girl probably put his hat on that was left on the side of the road…when other troopers came by they thought she was one their own and drove on to the scene. 😂 She just went her merry way and smoked the rest of the weed all by herself😮🤣
Great work officers! ❤ so kind in the beginning and that was a badass pit maneuver
Except the cop on the right was terrible
*THAT WAS ONE OF MOST MAJESTIC PIT MANEUVERS I'VE EVER SEEN❤😂*
What I don't understand is why the trooper didn't remove the keys from the ignition once he decided to take those 2 into custody.
I get he left his girl behind and some find that awfull, but can we plz not pretend she wasn't in on it and knew what she and he were doing that day. She's just the same as he is.
Also I LOVE the officer and the pump he got out of that, I know he hates the situation but damn he wasn't going to back off that day, thats for sure.
Also it’s not like his girlfriend was in any danger being left with the Cops 🤣😂
No one is the same as another. To say that one person you care about is gonna make the same decisions as you is wild. My ex was a construction worker by day and apparently a criminal selling pills to coworkers. He had so many pills and went to prison and I left him. It’s just insane to assume she knew anything. 😂
Weed ain’t a drug
Big pharma are the real drug dealers.
And murderers
It was probably safer for the girlfriend to be on the side of the road than in a speeding car driven by someone out of control.
That second cop calling taking his time 🥱 😊
Seen a few of these videos now and is there a reason they allow them to keep their keys in the ignition?
Usual suspects confirmed. Again.
Want a cookie?
Troopers it's so much more easier to remove the keys from the ignition to even prevent a getaway opportunity in the first place. Think smarter so you don't have to PIT harder. You would have had both suspects at that point.
No one watches the videos of Troopers removing car keys, but there probably some out there...
*Much respect to the officers. Good job. Thanks, Sirs.*
It was the second cops fault the he could buck,
Then he gets out the car all slow after they fishtailed the guy 😂
You know the Trooper is lying about "working with him" so why not run for it? Oh wait!! Now he's got a evading rap. And a big repair bill. Nevermind. Lol!
I gotta admit, that was impressive. Not too many people can get passed 2 officers, and manage to take off in the car.
radios, no hubo primeros auxilios etc
And I think you can hear him screaming "WAAAAA! WAAAAA!" as the taser is going off while he pulls away, too.
It’s the highest achievement he’ll ever have no pun intended
