I wonder if this cable can be hid through a generic plastic protective conduit that electricians use? I have one and I'm wondering if I can hide the cable through it. The "thing" at the end of this cable seems thick to me to pull through.
Thanks for the useful video, I am also interested to know what you actually think of the TV itself, it is worth paying the premium for the look and the artwork gallery? For similar money you get can get a very very nice LG OLED, which is my dilemma. Form over function, perhaps.
Hey Boomerang2, Honestly, it’s my daughters tv. She is an interior designer so the design aesthetic is of a great importance to her. I actually really like the look. It really does look like a picture on the wall. And you can change it - even to your own pics. If you didn’t know ( a visitor) you’d never guess it was a tv. The tv picture is great as well. Now, ask me if I WOULD spend the big money for it. Probably not. But I’m probably too practical at times. There are other things I’d spend money on first. BUT, I do like the look and concept. No denying that! Comes down a few factors. .in the end it’s a judgement call. So, be sure and let us know what you decide(d). Thx for the comment!
Not to code in many USA locations. And, if on the off chance that a fire were originated from this in wall, non-fire rated wire, insurance company could deny claim. Electrical codes are there for a reason. Good luck with the install. I am opting for a large hole for an a/v fire rated, UL approved box.
Hey Ming, The screens are VERY delicate so take every caution not to apply uneven pressure to the screen. Follow their directions explicitly in this matter as they call your attention to it. This one came damaged so we had to do a return on it. All went well nonetheless. Thx for watching.
Thanks for the demo! Super helpful. Curious if you added accessories like a cable box/Apple TV/ Roku INSIDE the drawer. Wondering if the one connect cable can carry the signal for those accessories as well, somehow.
Hey Brad, Thanks so much. The Frame is a smart tv so the apps are typically available on the TV. But BEFORE you buy, it would be worth a call to the company. They have changed the cabling from year to year so it is not out of the question that capabilities would change from year to year. It’s too big a purchase to assume anything. Thx for watching!
Hey, cool video. Got one question though - we want to install the TV in the living room but don't have a drawer to hide the box. Behind the wall we have a closet for clothes, so we would like to drill a hole, push the cable through the living wall to the closet behind the wall and place the box - do you know if that would impact the remote control? I mean, there will be a good connection / signal between the TV and the remote control, but not between the remote control and the box - hope this makes sense. Appreciate your time!
Hey Radu, This install was for my daughter, so I’m responding from memory. I believe the remote talks to the TV directly. The cabling then goes to the box. Im gonna guess you should be good to go. Let me know if this isn’t the case. Thx for watching !
Thanks for the video. It helped me figure out what kind of cover plate I should get. Is it drywall that you installed the TV? Did you use the wall anchors included in the TV package? Was wondering because mine said that those wall anchors are for concrete walls.
Hey Thomas, The remote works great. The tv is connected to the connect one by wire. So you aim your remote at the tv and the signal is carried by wire to the connect one. Thx for asking and thx for watching.
I would just like to ask is the one connect cable OK to run inside a dry wall or should you use a plastic conduit for safety. As I seem to recall this is not suitable for inside of the wall use. I have just purchased but not installed yet. Thanks
Hey Pupmaster, The cable supplied w/ tv is not wall rated. Samsung does make a cable that IS wall rated - it’s called an In-WAll cable that is UL listed. From their site regarding this cable : “The One Connect In-Wall Cable allows for a clutter free solution with sufficient length for setup between the TV and the One Connect Box and is UL listed for in-wall installation.” Hope that helps.
HouseBarons Unfortunately, the only in wall rated cable from Samsung fits the 2019 version and according to Samsung support chat, the 2019 version does not fit the 2020 Frame tv. They don’t have an eta for a 2020 in wall rated cable. I have to wonder what changed from 2019, but you never know.
I didn’t hear you mention that the one connect cord that comes with the tv is not in wall rated. So I’m assuming you are ok with going against code? Curious on your thoughts
Hey Tim, We are planning on an update video on that as Samsung is very quiet about that additional and costly add-on fact that should be made more apparent. Anyway, thx for pointing that out.
@@Housebarons Thank you. I actually purchased that expensive cord and had to send back because it wouldn't fit in the wall space because it's so bulky and definitely would not have allowed the TV to mount as well
@@timchurch4377 following just because I’m in this situation now but am hearing all the issues with the “wall rated” version. Has anyone else solved the in wall need outside of buying the bulky one
Hey Tim. Ok how? Ok rolling the dice or you did more research and found that the likelihood for something going wrong is slim? I’m on the fence about buying this because of the bulky in wall cable. Thanks!
The one connect wire- is it a fire retardant wire that was provided to you? I am in Canada and a fire retardant wire is not provided and I want to hide the wire through the drywall. Any suggestions will be appreciated.
Hey Emile, The wire supplied with the TV is not designed for “ in-wall” wall use. The “ in-wall “ wire is NOT supplied. It’s a separate purchase. Your best first practice is to call the tv manufacturer and ask them for the exact model number for the wire. It seems like they have done a LOT of changes with each TV model year and a cable made for one year won’t automatically work for another year. At least that’s what some reviews have posted. Hope that helps. Happy viewing!. And thx for watching!
Hey Adesh, The standard price is $1300-1400 dollars ( USA ) plus accessories. But the best time to buy one of these at discount is Black Friday (Friday after Thanksgiving ) when all the big sales are running. Thx for watching.
I tried to go to your website twice but it said that I might be trying to impersonate you to steal your money ???? and Safari couldn't open that page saying it could not open more than 20 redirections ? What a shame. I'm new to your channel and was really interested in seeing what your website had to offer. I've just watched your 'bead and baton accent wall' video. It was pretty good.
Hi! Thank you for the video. I saw you are using the one connect cable from the original order- does that mean it is not necessary to get an in-wall rated cable? I am installing the TV on the drywall of the wall against the outside and want to know if I need to spend the big bucks on the in-wall rated cable. Thanks!
Hey Tsing-Hao Wu, The way I understand it now, the supplied cable is not fire-rated for behind drywall. Protecting that cable or buying the one made to go behind drywall are your best options. You could also call the company to see what other options you might have. Thx for the question and for watching.
You're smart, most people on RUclips make a huge whole on the wall. Your way is much cleaner if you need to patch it in the future!
Hey Gery,
Thx for the kind words and thx for watching!

Hey Melinda, not a bad idea. Sometimes those channels come in two pieces Tasha together to accommodate the large end.

How did you plug the hole behind the TV? Did you use the same wall plate that you used below? If yes, did it prevent the TV being flush to the wall?

I noticed that you used the standard one connect cable. Any concerns around it not being “in wall” rated?
Hey mrdv,
To be 100% safe, use in wall cable. Otherwise it is a risk you have to accept.
Thx for watching
@@Housebarons What risk you have to accept?! Use conduit!
Yes. Risk exist because it’s a live wire.

Yes, it can be adjusted. We did use our own level to make sure it hung true.
