    It is not necessary to totally disassemble the Samsung S5 unless you have multiple issues. If you just need to change the LCD and Digitizer you remove the front section only, before reassembling, reconnect the screen ribbon to the motherboard and power up the device. If it is working, turn it off, remove the battery and proceed. This is an excellent tutorial for a complete disassembly, thank you.

    Fairly good job. The small antenna wires are not "ribbon cables," they are mini coax cables. The connection from USB docking PCB is a ribbon cable to main PCB. It's always a good idea prior to removing the 3 screws on the backside, to remove the small cover from the home button ribbon cable and disconnect it from the main board to avoid it from being damaged as you remove the display from the mid-frame.

    My camera won't focus on my S5. I'm being told to replace the actual camera itself, you need to remove the screen. My screen is NOT broken right now. Is it more than likely I will break the screen in removing it? If so, is it just the digitizer I have to replace, the LCD I have to replace, or both?

      Make Shure the connecter is securely fitted. If it is and it still flickers then you must replace the panel

      Re-check the connections again sounds like one might not be installed all the way.

    on ebay I see I can buy the little kit and the sgs5 screen only the glass I want to buy it but this video didint really tell me how to replace only the glass like I need. I'd I did follow the video I'd need t buy a whole new screen digitizer which is few hundred

    • @DirectFix
      @DirectFix  8 лет назад

      +Daniel correct you need to replace the complete screen assembly. To just replace the glass will require a $k to $5k machine to do it correctly. This is why we sell the complete screen assembly and not the crap glass that everyone else sells that makes you think that you can do this cheap which is false.

    If you needed to heat up to glue to get t screen off and you then cut it out w that scraper tool, won't it be lose if all you do is reinsert it back unto the case. Don't you need to reapply glue.

      Good question. You use an adhesive kit located here: www.directfix.com/product/XX2825.html - these were not available when we made the video.

    I have a question. I hope somebody has an answer for me. I went to Verizon to see why my phone was not properly charging. They said my port was bent inside so they ordered a new front. Took it to Verizon, they transferred all my files. Wipes my old phone and placed in the box to return my old phone to them. Get home and my screen goes blank. Thought it needed charging. Nope, blank screen. Called Verizon, they turn around and sent me another new front. Took that to Verizon and the new one works. Got home and realized that my "memo" were not there. I went back and they would not take the fronts that I still had in my possession apart to flip them so the one with a bad port and a good screen go on the one that is a blank screen that still has my information on it. My question to you is.....do I just remove the screens and take them to Verizon or do I have to get into the motherboard. Please advise. I'm sick because I had stored a lot of information that I didn't know I could back up in a Samsung account. Thanks!!!!!

    why does no one specify what temperature you should use to heat up the adhesive to? I have a heatgun that's 500F/1000F but it might be over kill

    • @DirectFix
      @DirectFix  6 лет назад

      Because all the heat guns are different and some do not show how hot they get. Then there are people that use a blow dryer which has no way to gauge the temp coming out.

    • @CarloTheImmortal

      blah, does it take forever with a blow dryer?

      sometimes. It all depends on how hot the hair dryer will get.

      You can not just replace the glass. You have to replace the complete screen assembly with the Glass and LCD together. Here is a link to the correct parts: www.directfix.com/category/Galaxy-S5-screen-replacement.html
