I used this video and everything worked fine except that the notification LED in the upper left corner is now glued over... it seems you've layed a strip over it and so did I... so for everyone else in the future: check for a hole in your glue stripes at your notification LED in the upper left corner!
its bee 10 years wow! This was my first smartphone, and it has been unusable for many years. I've had many phones since, but I have been wanting to repair my old phone just to see what kind of old data is on it! I might get hit with major nostalgia but let's hope I don't have a password setup that I don't remember. Oh, that would be terrible! ^ ^
iv ordered the parts to repair my galaxy s 5 i have to say the screen is rather easy to remove if the lcd is already broken as mine was. i damaged the home button cable doing it though so i bought another (£2.00) so was not a big loss. thanks for the the video.
You're welcome. You do have to be careful with the home button assembly as it can be torn quite easily. Glad to hear the video did help you though. Thanks for watching.
I have a quick question about this. After dropping my phone the i believe the display's flex cable came loose. At first the screen was black or miscollored, but i am able to make it appear normal by applying pressure overtop of where the connector is located. However, I have not got the touch screen to work using this method. Is this likely caused by the cable still not being properly connected, or could it be another problem caused by the impact? Thanks!
+Steven Vinson The screen assembly will have adhesive on the back side. You would only want to add additional adhesive on the frame or outer edges of the screen.
Plz advice me, is the glass original gorrilla glass 3 after being replaced, wud it be the same like before? I need to mine replaced, da glass inst broken but there is a black line in the lcd n its so annoying. Pls reply
what if my phone turns on and buttons work, but the screen is all scrambled colors. can i just open it and re-plug something in or does it possible need a new LCD screen ? i would love to be able to fix it cheaply right now. it didn't fall super hard, so i feel like it may be an easy fix, but no shops around me want to actually diagnose it..
My galaxy s5 got like yellowish squares on the screen and you could see it clearly if you use some app with a white background or something's bright is there any way of fixing this issue apart from replacing the whole screen assembly?
+Repairs Universe actually after looking at the discoloration for a while i realized it's shaped exactly like the keyboard could it be amoled burn? and btw i bought my s5 3days ago for 80$
whats a digitizer? is it the same as lcd? because I see alot of people saying it costs over $100 for a digitizer but isnt there a lcd for way cheaper on amazon? im so confused.
Will this solution help if my s5's LCD is broken and the screen has green, purple lines? my screen is not cracked but when I open my phone it goes all different colours and I cannot see the screen. Will this video help for my problem?
+Angella Demon +QU1NT3553NT14L I realise this may be a little late but for others reading the comments this may just be that the ribbon cable that needs reseating unfortunately this is a very tedious task and my advice is use more heat than you expect when taking the screen off and go very slowly as the screen/lcd will crack before you even get chance to say-
i followed all the steps. few months later my screen started turning kinda yellow. and then a few more months later my screen turned black. the light shows up on the bottom. but it wont let me go in the phone. how can i fix it. my friend said that the sensors r touching. is that true?
When the Galaxy S5 is disassembled, the water resistance performance would be affected. Therefore, you should change the form tape orGalaxy S5 front housing adhesive to a new one to better warranty the feature.
It is definitely different then both the S4 and S III, but if your display assembly (LCD & touch screen) is already damaged then it is actually not a difficult repair.
I find that using adhesive is useless. The better way to go is with the loctite G2 glue.and gently clamp the phone for 1/2 an hour. The adhesive tends to let go and the screen lifts once it gets warm again.
my s5 has the same problem, but the screen is white with noise, like a tv with no channels. But the touch is OK, sound is OK, vibration, messages, internet... tried to push some parts of the back, but nothing happened :/
I HAVE THE SOLUTION! I've been searching for a fix for the black screen of death for my Galaxy S5 for weeks without any actual working solution. All you have to do is heat up the top half of your phone with a hair dryer and gently lift the screen up from the right hand ride with a thin Stanley knife until you can see a rectangular-shaped plugin. once you can see this plugin, all you have to do is place it into its socket on the motherboard and gently push down, locking it into place. simple as that.
Hi Deo. We will actually have pre-cut adhesive strips for the Galaxy S5 soon, which will be much easier to use and apply when repairing your S5 display assembly.

I fixed my phone by myself thanks to your tutorial. I was freaking out big time. I also didn't want to pay, $168 again.

Hi, I'm from the philippines, is there a difference with sm-g900f and sm-g901f lcd?
do i need to reprogram my after the replacement?
Hello i want to ask type G901F and G900F, Are both LCD types the same?
Hi,may i have a question? What is thickness of the adhesive? :)
Do you use 3m adhesive on the back of the LCD or just use the adhesive on the edges of the frame?
+Steven Vinson The screen assembly will have adhesive on the back side. You would only want to add additional adhesive on the frame or outer edges of the screen.
Plz advice me, is the glass original gorrilla glass 3 after being replaced, wud it be the same like before? I need to mine replaced, da glass inst broken but there is a black line in the lcd n its so annoying. Pls reply
Our replacement parts are OEM compliant, meaning the same specifications. You should not have any issues with your LCD and touch screen purchase.
what if my phone turns on and buttons work, but the screen is all scrambled colors. can i just open it and re-plug something in or does it possible need a new LCD screen ? i would love to be able to fix it cheaply right now. it didn't fall super hard, so i feel like it may be an easy fix, but no shops around me want to actually diagnose it..
is this still waterproof after replacing screen ?
Do you guys sell only the LCD without the glass?
Unfortunately no. We only offer the LCD with the touch screen.
tyyy so much learned a lot
My galaxy s5 got like yellowish squares on the screen and you could see it clearly if you use some app with a white background or something's bright
is there any way of fixing this issue apart from replacing the whole screen assembly?
+Maurice-Mores The discoloration could be from heat damage. The s5's display is one fused unit and replacing it as a full assembly is recommended.
+Repairs Universe actually after looking at the discoloration for a while i realized it's shaped exactly like the keyboard
could it be amoled burn?
and btw i bought my s5 3days ago for 80$

A digitizer is the component that senses touch.
Is it possible to change the lcd screen without replacing/removing the glass?
+Dave Ng No you can't. The glass, lcd & digitiser are all glued together
Will this solution help if my s5's LCD is broken and the screen has green, purple lines? my screen is not cracked but when I open my phone it goes all different colours and I cannot see the screen. Will this video help for my problem?

Can you use a hair dryer if you don't have the fancy dryer?
Yes, a hair dryer will work for you.
i followed all the steps. few months later my screen started turning kinda yellow. and then a few more months later my screen turned black. the light shows up on the bottom. but it wont let me go in the phone. how can i fix it. my friend said that the sensors r touching. is that true?
So after I replace the new screen, I wont lose any data, apps, messages screen shots etc?

all lcd are the same for s5? does it matter the model
When the Galaxy S5 is disassembled, the water resistance performance would be affected. Therefore, you should change the form tape orGalaxy S5 front housing adhesive to a new one to better warranty the feature.
Will it resist the water again ?
Ibrahem Ali Unfortunately no.
+Repairs Universe The bronze coloured stuff under the Digitizer is that important? i took all mine off not knowing what it was.
Buna caut displei samsung s5g900 daca aveti datimi un mesaj si care e pretul
Wow the s5 looks like its a pain in the ass to repair!
It is definitely different then both the S4 and S III, but if your display assembly (LCD & touch screen) is already damaged then it is actually not a difficult repair.

+Darren Gabbe The only problem with using any type of CA glue is it affects future repairability.

my s5 turns on makes noise and lights up but the screen stays black what can I do to fix it?
+Jason Chilin You may simply require a new LCD and Touch screen assembly as shown in the video.
Yes that could be the problem. The ribbon cable might need to be replugged or something similar. Or in worst case scenario you would need a new LCD
Jason Chilin your display has hone
my s5 has the same problem, but the screen is white with noise, like a tv with no channels.

Hi Deo. We will actually have pre-cut adhesive strips for the Galaxy S5 soon, which will be much easier to use and apply when repairing your S5 display assembly.
I threw my phone at a moving bus and cracked the internal screen.
