Before anyone calls me out on it - no, I did not have 2FA turned on for my Namecheap account, and yes I do now! Even us security pros are not perfect! 😂

Well it’s been a while since I did one but I can maybe brush up, or get a guest on who does them now. What type do you need - Hybrid?

Thanks. You can add domains to 365 using PS, but not the actual DNS records - they have to be entered at the hosting provider.

Peter I have hosting at godaddy but my domain is registered elsewhere, do I add these DNS records where the domain is registered or where my hosting is (godaddy)? Thanks

You would add the records where your domain is registered in this case.

Hi Peter. Very very useful video. I have a question though, is there anything wrong with allowing Microsoft to set up your custom domain for you? This option is available in the "more options" drop down before you click continue on "how to connect your domain".

It’s fine to do it that way, as long as you are with a provider supported by MS for this method like GoDaddy.
Also, need to be careful using this as MS will add all required DNS records including MX and Autodiscover and you may not want to do this by default - especially if you have hybrid identity.

      @@peterrisingM365Hi Peter.
To be honest I have no idea about what you're talking about. I don't know what a hybrid is? Basically I am sole trader electrical contractor trading for 3 years now. I have been taken for a ride by an SEO so have decided to do it myself. I am planning to employ staff soon so need a flexible system to manage things. I chose 365 for business (premium) and I think it's great. Love the flexibility. Learning lots from people like you but still a baby really. Should I just input all the data manually as you did and let FastHosts be the domain manager?
      Sorry for the big post.

@@mb-electricalservices No worries - happy to help. You definitely don't have hybrid then and in your I would say go ahead and do the auto reg of the dns records if it allows you to so and all should be good.
