That's absolutely his problem. Alex says the exact same things Qanon does. Alex used to be the biggest conspiracy voice in the world, but now Qanon has surpassed him. Every Q shirt getting sold is an Info Wars shirt that's not getting sold.

Between Alex telling off Qanon, and him trying to stop people from storming the Capitol, its strange to see him become a voice of reason in this whacky world
It's weird now but I feel like before Trump came into the picture and he started capitalizing off of these things, he mostly acted in good faith.
@@2millionblunts I'd say Alex Jones mostly operated in good faith before Sandyhook. This is the guy who held a protest against the KKK when they had one of their rallies. He infiltrated the Bohemian Grove. He hated Bush as much as he hated Clinton. Old Alex Jones conspiracies were fun, and he was against government in general. Sadly, it all started going downhill around Sandyhook.
It feels that he only appeals to Trumpers because of money. If he sucks up to Trump, then Trump's fans suck up to him and they'll buy his products because they're dumb. Keep in mind that Jones spends a lot of time promoting his water filters and vitamins while saying shit like "the globalists don't want you to have this" which should raise some redflags as to whether or not Alex was serious about his beliefs during the Trump era. It's all about money, and it honestly feels like Alex Jones is going to cash out and retire. He knows that the grift is coming to an end.
Also, Alex Jones tries to avoid his own fans in public. It's as if he knows how crazy these people are. Hell, he doesn't even take his guests seriously. Dude fucking shouts over them as if he doesn't care about what they have to say. In regards to what Alex personally believes when it comes to politics, he probably fucking hates everybody.

@@Naruxos07 To be fair to Alex Jones, the whole Sandy Hook thing falls pretty much in line with any other disaster conspiracy theory that were taken serious and those who weren't. From Bush did 9/11 and jet fuel doesn't melt steel beams to Doom was the cause of Columbine. The only political views he's been consistent on over the years is the support of minimal government and limiting it's power, the "just leave me alone, don't bother anyone else if they don't want you" type. And has been stated by both his own attorney and people that have hang around him for a long time it's largely a character that he plays. Granted the crazies these days have unified from all sides in recent years from the far left-wing hippy conspiracy nuts with shit like "5G causes Covid/Cancer/Aliens/Etc." to to the far right "all mainstream political leaders are satanic pedo's" types, which wasn't the case when he started in the early 90's. Where it was simply to local dude with some weird views, BBS's online and the odd convention getting a visitor count in the 3 digits at best including staff.
As for his "support" for Trump is arguably simply the result of, at that time, right wing conspiracies having a bigger market and be taken less serious combined with 8 years build-up and the move in media in general to switch 24 hour opinion news shows (like most, if not all, 24 hours news shows these days) and thus picking political sides (which nearly all moved to the left) combined with more "clickable" articles with the advent of online media and slow death of the subscription news model. Add to that the active attack by the democratic party and now opinion based media on Trump supporters and general name calling without real arguments ("basket of deplorables") and more moderate left wing conspiracy theories being taken serious by the media (and still are) like the whole "Russia stole the election" while grasping at any small oddity pretending it's a smoking gun (remind you of something current?). And you have a large swath of people on the right being disenfranchised and not at all being taken seriously, which leads people to conspiracy theories through more questionable news sources and anything on social media. Or in simple terms I'd argue that Jones' support for Trump was a result of the political and media landscape at that time and Jones recognizing the growing market on the right combined with the unification of people with similar weird believes.
A lot of that hasn't really changed, if anything it gotten worse, which has led to recent event, but clearly that has gone to far for Jones. Jones clearly draws the line with violent actions.
The only other conspiracy group that really gotten bigger is within the black community and the medical related conspiracy types, but that growth was far less predictable and not as big of a potential market.
Jones is a good guy at heart but just makes money of feeding the crazies. I highly doubt his grift is even close to over, I imagine him going back to his pre-trump ratings probably a bit better than that seeing as far from all of his listeners support the storming of the capitol or support the Qanon stuff (and some just listen for the meme's, which with the publicity he had gotten the last 4 years probably has gotten him some extra listeners). He is a good businessman though, the perfect bullshit merchant able to make a turd shine like a diamond from the right angle.
