Swapping my Suzuki VStrom for a luxury, or Maxi Scooter. Either the Burgmann 400 or possibly the Kymco AK550. I do want something capable of long range touring like I do on the VStrom but getting old and need maximum comfort. Wouldn't mind twist and go either. I do wish I had the TMaxx option in the US.
I just bought the new 2024 Bergman 400. Love it except for one problem. When you stop and lock the front door wheel, you have to be careful not to click the key too far and initiate the parking light. It will drain your battery. I accidentally did this the day after I got it home. Went to start it and the battery was dead. The next model should engineer a greater space between the lock bike and “Parking” which I would not use anyway. I now check my headlights to be sure they are not on before I put way the bike for the day/evening. Thanks.
i have one 2023 .i do road trips. the under seat trunk extends more to back plenty of space i loaded with extra bags options plenty off space . even moto camping .
Hi. I am wondering why Suzuki stopped making the Burgman 650. My thoughts were always that I began my motorcycling career with a scooter (Yamaha Chapee) when I was 14 and I was going to end it with a scooter in a few years from now (I am now 59). But Inwas hoping to get the 650. Not sure the 400 has enough power.
Waiting and hoping honda brings the adv 350 to u.s. would be great! Do not like the parking brake on the Bergman, but for a 1000$ more you can get a BMW g400gt with heated seat heated grips and way more options if your already in this pri e range, curious how suzuki will compete
Seem way over complicated after seeing the simplicity of the park brake on something like a ruckus, Don't get me wrong, it is very interesting and might even have some kind of benefit over a simpler p brake, but I haven't been able to think of any lol
bmw c400 gt you mean, those scooters have kymco engine and fabous for theyr engine problems over the years, when you buy suzuki or yamaha for scooters you spend on pure quality.
Owned a couple of Burgman 400s over the years and they were good bikes. Unfortunately Suzuki seems to have done nothing to them beyond reducing the underseat storage. So now when you compare them to competition they look over priced and under spec. The 400 did not make the bike any faster than my current Xmax 300, given the weight difference, and the fuel economy was well below the Yamaha. I do miss the parking brake funnily enough, as an amateur landscape photographer I always rode the back lanes with a camera under the seat, and the parking brake made stopping on hills for that impromptu scenic photograph possible. I have missed a few instances of fantastic light through not being able to stop.
I definitely wish the Xmax had the parking brake. Sometimes I need to change cameras I have find a flat spot to do that. The burgman is way over priced in my opinion.
I added a "S" shape metal hook to the left handle of my scooter to hold the brake lever as my parking brake. In fact, you can make a hook brake to your preferred shape from wire cloth hanger.
Hi, I'm going to buy a scooter for the first time (dont even have riding license) I think of burgman 400 but it is kinda expensive for me (400k turkish liras). I look for something comfy and safe for my first time since I have no bike experience. I want to get faster as I learn (I like speed but dont wanna die yet). What would you suggest? Should I look for another cheaper models or brands? Dont really know the reason but I really like the design of suzuki.
I've looked and looked, Dan. But the Yamaha Xmax 2023, for the money, is by far the best offering available in new scooters. There are no issues with it and it's $1200-$1500 less than Suzuki's Bergman... for only a few cc's less. Gord
You will hate the seat and riding position on the xmax. It feels like you are riding on a large hard plastic lump in the seat and you are. Lol horrible seat no comfort at all. Everything else is good but the seat is terrible. Can only do 30min before max pain kicks in. Burgman is like drining on a sofa 🛋
Have the 23 Burgman 400. I can get a maximum of 75 mph @ 8,500 rpms, 500 past redline. It’s disappointing because it should go 100 mph all day long. Bought it used with 30 miles on it at the Suzuki dealership
@@rm9sbg93zxjzg 150 pounds. Mine should go 95 all day. Suzuki dealer said I need new pullies and a belt drive for $1,500. It’s rode like this since having 30 miles on it, says no warranty work for me
Except kymco is made by honda. I had the kymco agility 125 it had the best seat ever and it would do 65mph at 99mpg with 150lbs rider. I have driven all the yamaha scooters and the kymco is much better. More comfort never ever brakes down ever. And it has a rapid response cluch system that is trademark by kymco it is very fast off the line much faster then any other scooter of it's cc range. I currently have a yamaha smax it has a faster top end 75mph but honestly the seat sucks I was much more comfortable on the agility 125. Idk why but yamaha likes to round the seat on the interior to make room for a helmet under the seat which is nice but your are sitting on a hard round plastic lump under your seat and it is horrible. And the seating position is way to forward. The kymco gives you plenty of room to sit where you want with its flat seat. Wish yamaha had the same seat. With its speed and a kymco agility 125 seat yamaha would have a true winner.
@@taylerellis378 Nope! Kymco is not made by Honda! In fact, Kymco was licensed to make motorcycles by Honda 60 years ago while making some parts for Honda. Locally, we regarded Kymco has worse craftsmanship than SYM. Actually SYM delivered some quite good middle-weight scooters at 300 to 550 c.c. range.
Mine is being delivered today. Can’t wait.
Congratulations!!
Just bought a 2008 Burgman 400 yesterday and I’m loving it so far!
how is it on the freeways? does it get shaky in the higher speeds? do you get blown around alot?
Took my Burgman 200 everywhere . Great scooter.
Riding mine for almost 1 year - pure pleasure!
Very nice!!
The older Burgmans may look bulky but are also very ligth to drive !
Nice video.
Thanks for watching!!

The same exact thing happened to me with my B200. Love the Burgman but the parking light design can be improved.
@@vegasdan9820 Thanks for backing me on the design flaw with the parking lights key position.👍
I created a system- clicking all the way down and one time back hahah , now it’s a habit 😅
There are 4 stops on the key turn - active/inactive/lock/light and they are all equal distance with a definite click in between.

Good to know. I’ll have to go for a test ride at some point. Thanks for the information.
How did they cut 30pounds from the 2019s? 467 according to my Reg.
when are going to have a full review of this band boy?
If they start making the 650 again I'd buy one in a heartbeat.
They still make it. Sold in Europe!
@danielmarrett5240 I don't know where you get your info but the burgman 650 is no longer in production.
The brake lever in the middle isn't an emergency brake but is a parking brake, just saying 🙂

That's one thing that the xmax doesn't have is a parking brake. Does a scooter need a parking brake? I don't miss it.
