Lenovo T and series lappies are excellent. I actually prefer the T440S/T450S models to the newer T models as the newer ones have battery issues. The T440S/T450S configured with 10 hour batteries, touchscreen, SSD and 12 GB RAM are bulletproof and last FOREVER. Although ten-ish years old, they are the Toyota Camrys of the laptop world and can be bought dirt cheap on Ebay.
UPDATE: Since this video was uploaded, I upgraded the storage to a 1TB SSD and I finally got macOS Monterey to work perfectly. A tutorial video is in the works! Link to my GitHub repo: github.com/MultimediaLucario/Lenovo-ThinkPad-T440s
I'm surprised how little reach you have for such a well organised and enthusiastic review! Good luck and keep on working hard I'd love to see your channel grow dude.
The T440s with Intel i5 4210U is my favorite modern day Thinkpad for light browsing and other tasks. Very efficient processor with very little heat and noise. I can spend the whole night using it without the fan coming on. Also love the dual battery setup. It seems to be very durable with the hinge still stiff and tight after years of using it. I also have the i7 version but its not as cool and quiet as the 4210U. last of its kind in my opinion. As for OS well I have used different Linux Distros on it but my favorites are Fedora and Rocky Linux. Sadly I decided to ditch both after Fedora made some bad changes recently. I now use Windows 10 2019 LTSC. Quite possibly the best Windows OS in my opinion. No bloat. No nonsense. I have never used Mac or even owned an iPhone but I can understand why others prefer the Apple ecosystem.
I just bough an T440s yesterday. I will wait it till thuesday to arrive. Cpu-i7 4600u, display fullHd touchscreen, sim, san disk ssd 2Terrabits , 12gb ram, keyboard light, 2 batterie at 90%. I have t490s but I wanna send it to my brother in Italy. I like compact laptops.
Considering the generally mediocre hardware inside MacBooks and the further sacrifices made to their performance with their limited cooling solution, this actually does seem like a decent alternative (assuming, of course, people are okay going through the process of installing MacOS). Regardless, this is a really solid review! Your narration was confident, the editing was solid, and overall the quality is really good! Keep it up! (Also a bit jealous of you learning how to use Final Cut Pro, that was the software we used back in TV Production and even after four years I felt like I was fighting with it every time I used it)
Just bit the bullet on a t440s after my crappy hp laptop from 2017 broke. Looking forward to something solid and getting out of the home office to do some work!
I don't understand why people doing light web browsing or office work buy expensive new laptops when you can get these for a bargain! They go for 150-200$ are easy to repair, full of ports and do not run excessively hot. Very sad that windows 11 is not "offically" supported by these computers while they are very capable machine.
I'm kinda confused watching this video. I am wondering when this laptop was released, seeing that it comes with a 4000 series Intel processor. I'm actually looking to get a laptop replacement for the one that got stolen some two months ago, and it was a Dell Latitude E7470. Ever since I have considered going for a Lenovo instead but I am short of cash. However, I saw this in an ad and thought to get on RUclips and watch the reviews. The first review I watched was from 8 or ten years ago or so, making me think that this is a really old laptop but yours seems to have been more recent, 8 months ago which makes me wonder about the specs of the device that you have. You mentioned SSD whereas the one in the ad I found is 500 GB HDD. I am confused, really.
@@ekeretteekpo3004 I got the one with the i7 4700u/4800u (not sure which one) for €150 used. I bought it from a Dutch craigslist/Ebay. The previous user put in the SSD as an upgrade. I hope this clears things up a bit!
Great stuff, planning to do my own review of this laptop with the i7-4600U in the near future. I tried installing Big Sur, Catalina and Mojave on mine about a month ago, but couldn't get past the initial USB boot. After selecting the USB-installer the screen went black and nothing happened. Gonna try that again some day though.
oh yeah i tested it out, big sur works for installation but ventura and monterrey doesnt quite work for installation, it just goes in to black background with a gray X for support apple which i think it meants it cant be installed

I don’t think the T400 supports this version of macOS but the T440p and also the regular T440 can. I would know because I just did that for a friend of mine and he loves his T440.
When you get into the install for big sur, did it start the install at 2 hours and 20 mins and have the loading bar 80% done? My install time keeps increasing so I'm going to leave it to see if it will install overnight. All you have to do is load opencore and drage the 2 base files into com.apple folder and have the efi on the boot drive right? Or do you have to configure anything else?
Hey Man! I also have a T440S. I am attempting to install Big Sur. Everything in the installer will work wifi keyboard, etc. But once I start the install, the install time hangs and will not do anything. i am wondering if you had this problem and could help me. Thanks!
Bro got mine all up and running on a t440 but I can only boot with the USB I've tried the mount efi but still doesn't boot without the USB how can I fix this thanks bro

By the way, that thing before the intro was a reference to an old series of ThinkPad commercials called "Legends of ThinkPad."
The T440s is fantastic! Linux, Windows 10 and Windows 11 all work well.
Will window 11 work on Thinkpad t440, Not the s?

I had no idea that ThinkPads have this large community backing them. I might pick one up for myself.
Thinkpad's been a solid workstation laptop for as long as I've been around, nice to see the product line is still pulling its weight lol
Thanks for the tutorial! Its super easy to follow! And this review is amazing too! Good job!

I wonder if Lenovo will ever make a Linux operating system designed and tailored for ThinkPads?
As a person who is looking to become a DJ, I love this video.

I got the i7 version with a 480gb Ssd and the 1080p IPS display FOR €150!! It’s such a steal I even got the charger and extra battery

Nice one. Will your guide & efi folder work on T460s i5?
This guide is not compatible with the Lenovo ThinkPad T460s because the T460s uses a 6th Generation Intel Core i5 while the T440s uses a 4th Generation Intel Core i5.
@@DJTydalOfficial I would expect that a 6th generation intel core would be better than a 4th generation's. Please, clarify for me.

What are the specs of your T440s?

Whenever i try to boot with your EFI and Big sur on my T440s it just freezes on the apple logo :/
What processor do you have?
Can you do this on the i7 version of the t440s
