  • After months on Zipp wheels and Goodyear tyres, I've made a switch to Campagnolo Shamal wheels with Schwalbe Pro One tyres. On my first ride with the new set-up, it was a great chance to make a comparison of the sensations. Both sets of tyres are 30mm and tubeless but the ride qualities are considerably different.
In the coming weeks, there'll be even more wheel and tyre reviews (with the help of Ryan O'Keefe) but for now here are my initial impressions after swapping a couple of key components on my bike.

What would be your choice between the Schwalbe pro one and Pirelli p zero tlr tubeless?

Hey Rob, how does that new rotor go again mate?😆😆😆.
I started using the Schwalbe Pro One Addix Race V-Guard about 3months ago. Fast, light and very sticky in corners.

hi nice wheels, can I use these wheels on my gravel bike, thinking of using 40mm tires, would it work?

Is he saying the shamal bearings are faster or the zipp?

I stopped in my bike shop today and got a close look at those Shamal hoops. Those wheels are so beautiful I ordered a set. I had the older Shamal Mille aluminum wheels and they were awesome and I hope these new carbon wheels are just as good.

    Hi mate.
Are these the tubeless version or tubed? If they are tubeless any issues fitting these?
    Thanks

Tubeless. And no, no hassles with fitting.

There’s a town in Ireland called Belmullet. I expect they have a Bogan Av there too.

The commentary on the rotors doesn’t tell us much about the wheels

The wheels look good sounds like they could be a bit Flexi though.

How good is a wheel if it needs service after short rides? Zipp could be awesome but their hubs are bullshlt. Your Cognition hubs need service frequently, so get used to it. The bearings can't be rebuilt.. three brand new ones needed everytime. Wasteful! Further, these are proprietary bearings, sometimes hard to find. Not convenient. There's more, but too much for me. FFWD, Hunt, Enve, and plenty others make great wheels easy to service.
