This was inevitable. A through review is required of all the systems is needed and Root Cause Analysis hopefully will be carried out on the reasons for the injuries failure to spot them as well as for the conflicting advice. Maldini rebuilt AC Milan and its recruitment set up. The side that won Serie A was built by him with some astute buys. For me he would be a good choice but personally Mitchell shades it with his experience already in the Premier League and in Germany and France. However, we could do something totally out of the box have Paulo Maldini as Director of Football aided by Paul Mitchell as head of recruitment. With Malini’s links to Italian Football and Mitchell’s to France Germany and Austria we would have a lot of bases covered. Ramsdale would be good move as he’s only 25 which is young for a keeper the question would be cost as Arsenal paid £24M +£6M add ons and I expect they would want at least £30M for him. We need to get a quality CB in. Kelly would be a good squad player but quality CB and CF is a must with possibly a RW. We will need to sell some of the lesser players Miggy Sean Longstaff and if we can Callum Wilson to generate a few millions plus the release of their wages to get Ramsdale a CB and CF. PSR will be the key in this I suspect as to what we can buy.

Regarding acquisitions in the summer we need to solidify our defence with at least another CB we need a quality RW and a proper CDM and a striker that can stay fit even if hes not that top quality, I think a proper striker that can hold the ball up and allow Isak to play off him and adding a CDM allows Bruno further up also Hall needs to start every game for me.

It did look like he tangled legs with the West Ham player though so surprised to hear it is such a long term injury. I’m sure they decided to see if he can run it off (as most players do with most injuries). Can’t fault anyone for the issues to Lascelles or Livramento - freak accidents. Almiron, we don’t know yet but either the physios and coaching staff knew he had an issue prior to going on, or they didn’t. We need more info there.

I agree with the injury review. Any club not doing this annually is asking for trouble. But I will push back on Lascelles and Botman. Lascelles clearly said something like "let me see how it feels" and realized his error right away. This happens in almost every match. It just usually doesn't end up with the player coming off.
As to Botman. Like I told u once b4. I played with 2 diff guys on 2 diff teams and both had acl or mcl issues. And they were told "u won't do more damage, but u need surgery and it's just comes down to pain tolerance." I don't know how many doctors let alone sports medicine experts are in your audience, but I'm guessing not many. I agree it needs to be reviewed. But the amount of hindsight is 20-20 fans is a little crazy. Just bc u read an article by a journalist doesn't mean youre now an expert. It's not like you stayed at a Holiday Inn last night. (American fans should get that. It's a famous series of commercials)

The spotlight was on the former head physio, Danny Murphy when he resigned when returning from extended paternity leave.
I am wondering increasingly if instead of it being to blame, could it perhaps be that he was so against whatever medical/footballing procedures that had been in place in his absence he resigned as he was so unhappy with what had happened. From what I can see from the timeline, Murphy was around for the season where the first team didn’t really rotate, joining us in October 2022. The difference in injuries from then to now is a stark contrast.
If so, it is also another black mark against the way Dan Ashworth implemented the structures around the team.

So long as we vet Maldini's background to make sure he doesn't have a gambling addiction or something like that, I'm alright with him. Personally though, I prefer Mitchell. He's a proven track record of getting in top talent (Trips, Son, Mane) and, more specifically, experience in the Premier League, Maldini doesn't.
In regards to the injuries, My dad always used to say that the ground was cursed. Even before the take over, players used to get injured and in unusual ways. Might have something to do with the 6ft slope of the pitch which is the largest in any stadium in the country. Constantly playing on that slope can have a degrading affect.

Can't remember a season like this ever for the amount of serious injuries to key players at the same time. Need hard hats and safety boots on for the rest of the seaon 😂😢

Maldini would be in my all time World XI (I'm 64). As DOF I'd go for Mitchell.

Hear me out i think var is a major problem for injuries, so when the players warm up and then not long in the game we have a 3-5 min var check the players r cooling down and then r expected to go 100mph within a few seconds when the decsion is made, could be pitches, over training, medical team, so many different things can go wrong

I would be very surprised if ramsdale leaves arsenal as a number 2 to come to us as a number 2, he would want the number 1 jersey, i would love him to come, but we all know that Eddie is very loyal to certain players would he ever drop pope I don't think so.

We should pitch to elite players that it’s the Iron Man Challenge to play for us given the injuries … we’d end up with a top 11 of SAS professionals, wearing camo paint and B&W balaclavas! 😂 The real invincibles! 💪🏁

Hi paul this is agreat channel i love it that being said dont hate me for this comment i know this vlog is about our injuries but we must address the Tonali topic obviously dan Ashworth screwed up here he obviously did not check Tonalis background now it turns out not only is he serving a 10 month ban from italy turns out hes been betting here whilst banned he obviously does not give a toss about Newcastle united i have seen a comment from eddie Howe pleading with our f.a.Tonali has an illness ,illness my foot he bets because he loves it .Its his choice to do the betting no one makes him do it my opinion is send him back to milan and demand our money back mark my words hes done wrong here now the F.A. will not be forgiving in theory Newcastle united have wasted 55 million pounds .

Ramsdale will have learned a lot from his experience at Arsenal. There's no way he'll come as no.2 & he will want it understood and agreed that he's coming as no.1. I reckon he'll be wanted by several champs league clubs around Europe & we wouldn't get him anyway.

Eddie Howe has a very poor reputation for keeping his players fit. Now everyone is beginning to understand Fraser's point of view why he refused to play for Eddie while at Bournemouth for fear of getting injured and jeopardizing his chances of signing for another club. He was totally justified in having those fears if we had his insight of what's happening behind the scenes with Eddie's lack of awareness of players' physical condition and the physical demands he imposed on them.
