      Great video, I like that it addressed the sports washing and had an array of opinions.
      I agree with the guy that said it would be great to back fan ownership or more ethical ownership... but how do we get there? Let's not pretend that alot of western billionaires and governments aren't the ones selling Saudi weapons.

    The 4-1 against PSG was the best game of football i've ever been to in my 25 years of life and I have the new ownership and management to thank. For the last few years we've all been pinching ourselves at how perfect the ride has been so far. Remember fellow Geordies, enjoy the hell out of the ride to the top! Because this is football - tough, stressful times will return one day only at a different end of the league table. HOWAY THE LADS!!

      State sponsored clubs have a huge asterisk hence will never go global. Literally no one in the world of football cares about their success as everyone knows Abu Dhabi & Qatar is buying trophies for MC & PSG. It'll be the same for NU. Self made clubs will have million times more respect & kudos for their achievments.

    Ashley didn't give away 10,000 season tickets because people found something better to do, he gave away 10,000 half season tickets when loyal fans were pushed to desperate measures and began canceling their season tickets half way through the season in an organized boycott of Ashleys ownership, which was a key driver in forcing Ashley to sell the club.
    To say Geordies 'found something better to do', is an absolute disgrace to this superior fan base.

      It’s scary how British people feel entitled to a billionaire’s entertainment property. Ashley owned Newcastle. It’s his company and now the Saudis own it. It’s pity to whine about a property that you don’t own.

      A football club is an important part of a community, not a billionaires plaything. Any owner who is privileged enough to take control of a communities prized asset has a responsibility to that community to ensure the club is properly run and at the very least reasonably funded with the profits the fanbase generates. Not used as a cash cow and neglected for over a decade, left to rot alongside the fanbases hopes.

      So many of the world's biggest clubs do sponsorship deals with Gulf nations. Arsenal supporters slag us off about PIF while having Emirates on the front of their shirts and they play at Emirates Stadium. Saudi Telecom is one of Man United's oldest business partners and they did a new deal with Saudi in 2017. Real Madrid and Benfica - Emirates sponsored shirts. It's the business of world football these days. Not saying it's right or that I agree with it but that's how it is.

      Apparently the suits have said we can't afford anyone unless we risk getting a points penalty and we would have to sell our best players on to create profits and then continue this process.
      But some clubs can buy in players and stick them on 8yr contracts until the rules are changed and they don't have any punishment. Funny they're one of the clubs who tried holding the sport to ransom a few years ago and again, weren't given a suitable punishment for that either. Still, they're alright with their billions that mean they won't struggle under FFP rules....

    New signings all been pretty modest and savvy.
    Eddie Howe has done wonders last season getting them into Top 4 with a team consisting primarily of players who were facing relegation the season before. I think Trippier has been an instrumental addition also, it’s no wonder was awarded the captains armband so quickly.

    Here is the number one reason why The Rise of Newcastle United is unstoppable. (Or rather the rebirth).
    Newcastle are the original sleeping giant. As man utd were when they won their first title in 25plus years in 1992 under the great sir Alex. Newcastle were the most successful club in England behind Aston Villa in 1971 having won more trophies than any other team. Well, their wait has been longer than Man Utd's but it has been agonisingly painful. With their waiting list and demand for season tickets let alone tickets sold on the day the stadium could if it was big enough be full every week with 80-90 thousand fans. This can be ratified when counting the 40,000 applications for a small amount of season tickets available last year. This sleeping giant has awoken and when it wakes it wont go back to sleep. Everyone watch out it's their time now.

    If Newcastle were the only team to be owned by a regime we don`t like then the people complaining would have a point. But they dont because a handful of other clubs are owned by places with human rights issues. I didn`t see anyone moaning about the world cup baing in qatar , besides politics has NOTHING to do with sport.

      So many people complained about the qatar cup, so many people complained about city and so many people started to complain about man u when it looked like they could be taken over by qatar. It's not just us, and it isn't just them. I found it laughable when all i heard by man u fans over the 3 or 4 months that a qatar power house was trying to buy their club was "Newcastle never got all this shit." When yes we fucking did. Fans just have a small vision that mostly surrounds their own club so everything about their club gets magnified 1000x over and think the world revolves around said club. It does not.

    To most Newcastle fans, the Saudi side of things is an irrelevance. Yes we put up with the oil money and sportswashing jibes, when in reality, because of FFP, Newcastle had far less to spend than most Premier League sides due to chronic underinvestment by Ashley. The board bought wisely, got a great (and underrated at the time) manager in Eddie Howe along with Trippier and Guimares. They poached Chris Woods off Burnley and ironically sealed Burnley's fate and relegation. Then performed a miracle in climbing away from the relegation zone from a losing proposition no other team had achieved. The following season they qualified for the Champions League, 5 years ahead of the 10 year plan!

We've never, in our history had the boardroom power to be a sustained threat to those who have sat on the top perch of the English football pyramid. Now, we have the sensible, reserved, professional wealth in the C-Suite to ensure Newcastle United have the stability to solidify their rightful position as one of England's elite clubs for generations to come. • @mattswinnerton9892
      @mattswinnerton9892 11 месяцев назад

      I don’t care about Chelsea either 😂 it is funny how many city fans forget why they are where they are and forget where they came from. My point is Newcastle if allowed could buy city about 50 times over. Of course they will succeed. The money now is ludicrous. As for city you will be the first to point out how much Chelsea have spent after your lot are found guilty. It isn’t 1 or 2 charges. It’s not even on an Everton level. Hundreds of charges against city. So for all city fans say “we are a well run club” you’re not. It’s inflated. Let Newcastle have their go at spending in the way you have and they would make you look like you can’t afford a bag of chips. Hence they would be the best team by a mile which is where city are currently, and I am happy to admit that. City are easily the best club right now.

    • @mattswinnerton9892
      @mattswinnerton9892 11 месяцев назад

      I am not fussed on arsenal either. You seem determined to try and get me to bite about my team I’m not bothered. There is no argument. All I am saying as as previous when you’re found guilty the tune will change cos it “won’t be fair”. From my perspective I’d just like to see Newcastle be allowed to spend what they like as well, it’s the only way a team can compete with city, by doing the same thing they have done.

    Unfortunately I'm sorry to say, but we are the club who will forever trapped in a "stasis" situation where FFP will frustrate the club. Our only way to improve it seems will be our nemesis of having to stay as a fringe/feeder club by selling quality plsyers like Botman,Guimaraes & Isak on to the European Superleague Wannabe clubs, who are the elite few that FFP doesn't appear to apply to..
    The whole situation is f***ed unless you cut the club a bit of slack, but then everyone it seems, doesn't want us to be successful because of who our owners are.
