Which card do you want to see next? the RX 6750XT? RX 6950XT? Let me know!
RX6600
6800XT ^^
6950XT, fantastic card.
RX 7600
RX 6600 non-XT (2)
For those having crashes ultrawide, lower the Dynamic Resolution as AMD stated in the 23.8.2 driver notes. It did fix it for me
or don't use it at all
I don't have crashes but I noticed that it can cause ghosting so I turned it off on all my computers.
Really great explanations on the reasons the hardware is performing the way it does. *subscribed*
Thank you 💪
Love this video. Great stuff
Love all the videos. Thanks for your hard work. It's greatly appreciated. 👍
Thank you!
Thanks for all your efforts 👍
Thank you as well!!
Got 7900xt and runs great on 1440p. Love it.
Great to hear actually
same for me
"hey look, game runs fine on my nasa rig! what are you complaining about, dude?"
Yes, I have 7800x3d and 7900xtx combo, on max settings @1440p, FSR off got between 90 and 160fps, about 120 avarage.
kkkkkkkkk u guys are crazy. Runs great with 7900xT? This game is really bad optimized.
Thanks for doing the ultrawide resolution! Super helpful!
Thank you as well 💪
I expected more performance out of it for Starfield but it's not the card's fault it's the game. I've also had it crash three times twice I had to reinstall the drivers, strange bug.
been playing Starfield on a 6800xt this week, and have zero complaints. no crashes. no dev errors. no screen tearing and a solid 70-100 fps at 1440p, and ive got it set on mostly ultra settings. i tried the 4k fsr and got around 60-75fps max settings. looking forward to trying my 7900xtx next week when i get to my ny house and dont gotta work down here in florida heat lol
amazing test my friend!!i have 7900xtx and very happy with this GPU !!wish you the best
Thank you, all the best for you as well
Rather than another high end video, an AM4 with the 6750xt can show what money can buy.
I am pending for the 6950XT/6750XT for the next test
@@AncientGameplaysplz 6950 xt that's what I want to see before I try downloading it see what I can expect
Testing Ultrawide 21:9. You are my hero
Nice 💪💪
Muchas gracias for the video!
Fair and unbiased video, unlike.the cr a p that Ngreedia Unboxed has been pushing.
Pleas,.keep.up the good work!!
You deserve way more subscribers!!!
Thanks!
Cant wait to play when this game releases in a couple of days. Having access to DLSS mods will probably make the 4k experience so much better than FSR/Native.
Thank you for testing ultrawide resolutions.
Thank you for watching :D
Thanks for the video! Besides the graphics tuning in Adrenaline, what if anything do you have turned on in the Graphics Options setting in Adrenaline?
Video I’ve been waiting for. Beautiful work. For the next one, the 6950XT would be relevant to compare with the 7900XTX. The best old generation card with the best new generation at AMD. That would just be perfect. Great content. Bravo.
thanks for another great video! could you please share what you use for your fps/gpu/cpu stats overlay?
I cannot sorry, otherwise it would be personal anymore
Fabio, first of all, congratulations for the excellent quality content.
I just gave up playing this game. I use an R9 5900X, 64Gb RAM and an RX 6800, and in the city of the first planet, even in the 1080pUW preset Low, just increasing the rendering scale to 80% (FSR active), there were moments when the FPS dropped to around 40~ 50. I can't believe the game is really that heavy to be at this level. I can only think of an optimization problem anyway. When I see patches that fix this, maybe I'll give it another go.
In comparison, on this map in the first part of the video, the FPS was above 120. But on the first planet (New Atlantid, or something like that), and on Venus, the drop was monstrous.
I can only imagine 1 point besides the bad optimization, which is the fact that my monitor is UltraWide. So 1080pUW would be close to 1440p Widescreen in performance (due to pixel density). But even considering that, the performance is still terrible. Compared to other titles, even on day 0 I played TLoU P1 above 110 fps with everything on High.
That's because of the cpu and ram, this games looves them
I tried Starfield yesterday on my system.
I run a 5800 X3D CPU and RX 7900 XT GPU and just let the game decide what graphics setings to run.
It ended up at 1440p Ultra settings with FSR2 enabled.
The Adrenaline software reported an avarage of 135 fps but I haven't got very far into the game yet.
I was pretty happy with that to be honest but I may play around and see what I can get in native.
5800x3d with 3600 cl15 memory and 7900xtx fsrq 85% though at 3400x1440p and you probably found out already but you will be getting less than 80fps probably less than 75fps if your memory/CPU isnt well tuned.
thank you so much for making this video, as im getting tired of people thinking "no gpu can play it" as ive been hearing. i personally use my 6750xt and it does fine with the right settings at 1440p. but i truly think 1728p or 1800p is the way to go for most people who want a bit more performance but not go as low as 1440p or upscale. :D
Fabio you the greatest analyst in the game scene. keep up the great content.
Nahhh, i just do my thing haha
I am impressed although if they improved the asset loading and some other issues I'd like to see more performance gain in wider spaces.
i see almost no issues there, just need an nvme
Yooo finally, 1440p UW benchmarks
Great work, looks like a lot light sources are not working, street lights not lighting the ground.
Has to do with other light sources on top of it I guess...
i bought a 7900xtx just for starfield, knew my 3080 wasnt going to cut it
What are you using to get the stat overlay? It looks like adrenaline but im not sure how you made it look so clean. My adrenaline overlay looks terrible!
Its afterburner
esse sotaque não engana ninguém! :D
Um abraço
What program do you use to monitor temps/usage/etc? I can't imagine it's MSI Afterburner as it's not compatible with AMD Adrenaline edition
Great video! I have a RX 7900 xtx, what is the best settings? I've been rocking ultra no upacaling and get 60 fps in demanding open areas and 80+ fps in less demanding areas. I don't know much about FSR settings? What is everyone else doing? Ultra VS High settings?
I played some Starfield today. I made it to a completely different star system using a gravity jump and landing on the next planet before calling it quits for today. My current setup runs between 40-60 FPS at 1440p low. My current setup is an MSI GL65 laptop with an i7 10750H, 16GB DDR4 2666MHz RAM and RTX 2070 connected to a 32” 1440p 165Hz G-Sync/FreeSync Premium monitor.
The PC I’m building will be a massive upgrade from what I run now. It’ll have a Ryzen 9 7950x, 32GB DDR5 6000MHz RAM, and a Sapphire Tech Nitro+ RX 7900 XTX.
I’m also planning on upgrading my monitor to the 45” Corsair Xeneon Flex 3440x1440p 240Hz Ultra Wide OLED monitor, getting the Bigscreen Beyond VR Headset, a HOTAS, and a steering wheel setup. As I’m planning on getting into DCS World, and I already play American Truck Simulator using as simplified controls as possible on an Xbox Controller. As I can’t even use standard automatic transmission settings let alone a manual transmission until I get a wheel setup. I also have an interest in iRacing.
Hello Fabio, how are you? Excellent video. Bro, will it be possible to enable FSR 3 in any game that uses API DirectX 11 and 12?
With the RX 7000 series, AMD aimed at Q1 2024 for that feature
@@AncientGameplays Thanks, I don't have a graphics card, I use the one built into my processor (7700X), for 1440p would you recommend buying the RX 7700XT or the RX 7800 XT?
Could you put in the benchmark videos a part with the recommended settings to have a middle ground between fps and quality?
Humm, possibly
Just upgraded from Ryzen 7 2700x with Nvidia GTX 1070ti to 5800X3D with 7900XTX
Used your videos on using DDU to install a new GPU and the AMD Adrenalin guide.
Just want to say thank you for your videos and guides.
Had zero issues with swapping over.
And I want to say thank you for watching :D
5600 + 6800 XT in 2K high, run pretty well! can feel the cpu bottleneck sometime for sure ( new atlantis CPU usage is crazy :) but overall good experience!
5500 + 6700 in FullHD ultra, runs great! dont have change to try it out in 2K, but this budget PC is really more than usable for starfield at least :)
Have a 7900XTX, 6950xt, and a 6750xt. 6750xt paired with 5600x & 16gb ram. 6950xt paired with 5800x and 32gb ram. 7900xtx paired with 5800x3d & 32gb ram. All ram at 3600mhz and they all push 100 fps in 1080p and 1440p no issues. Had some crashes here and there with the 7900xtx combo on Ultra/High setting, everything enabled except motion blur. I noticed my ram utilization jumps up to 85% in the dense city parts. Crashes and hangs as well were upon loading in and out shops/ship and running with amp aid while over encumbered in open map. Frame rates dropped to 60-70fps in New Atlantis coming out of train station, spaceport, and in the well.
Hey Fabio. Could you share the new 7900XTX overclock settings for the latest drivers? Since 23.8.2 does not like previous oc configs. Amazing video btw cheers
will upload it the the folder
Awesome video as always, Mr. Ancient Gameplays, informative and entertaining.
I have a question that's more related to your previous video. So, regarding the shade cache problem of the last two driver versions, you recommend the 23.5.2., however that one caused one of my fav games (Far Cry 3) to crash midgame, which didn't happen with 23.4.3. Is 23.4.3 as good as 23.5.2 ?
check your OC stability in the first place, if its not the OC, then revert to 23.5.1 or 23.4.2
I've only XMP and SAM enabled, if that counts as OC at all, otherwise nothing oc'ed. Ok, I'll check one of these revisions (or both), anyway thanks for the reply, truly appreciated 🙏🏽👍🏽
one random crash can just be a game bug, and a repeatable crash can also be a game bug. Repetitive random crashes are a sign of a hardware or driver problem.
@@marsovac I had regular crashes in this particular game. When I reverted to 23.4.3 problem was solved. Currently I'm on 23.8.1 and haven't experienced a crash either (so far). It's weird with drivers, isn't it? But I heard Nvidia users experience stuff too.
Do you mind sharing your Adrenaline settings used for this game? I have a 1440 freesync monitor, a 7900 xtx and a 5800x3D. Trying to figure out if I should be using Radeon Chill, the Frame Rate Target Control, or RivaTuner Statistics Server Framerate Limit. And also if I should have Enhaced Sync turned on or not.
Those are in my 7900xtx oc video
First time realizing how high the Zen 4 CPU's clock in game.
Can't wait for Zen 5+ and RDNA 5 whenever it comes out. (since RDNA 4 flagships are allegedly cancelled)
Good video to show that the Starfield experience isn't actually all that bad.
I wouldn't go for that word of RDNA3 GPUs being cancelled on the high end. That still doesn't make much sense to me
Thanks for the informational video. Personally I won't be playing Starfield until a few months have passed and performance has been improved (and price has dropped).
Man I'm jealous.... 7900XTX would be INCREDIBLE to own, holy sheit
I have an all AMD build as well. What is the program you use to generate the frame rate on screen?
Afterburner
I have an LG 4k HDR monitor that only runs at 48-60hz so running my 7900xtx on 5900x, I only needed 60fps. At 4k native res, I get 68fps too so I'm happy.
What I do notice is my AIO fans in overdrive! Super crazy.
Also tried it on the 7940hs running at 65W. At lowest settings, I only got 19fps. Not playable all.
160fps in starfield and it looks awesome. game was crashing on drivers 23.8.1 so updated (the ddu way) played for 8 hours straight. loving the game, loving the card never over 60degrees. 2k with all on max and FSR2 On. Intel 13700K.
Can't wait to see how my 7800x3d will handle the game, once the Nitro+ arrives - OC/UV-ed obviously, as thought by yours truly ofc 🎩😌
Great CPU/GPU combination. Congratulations
@@anthonybaker5199Thank you. Unless I had found a 4090 for 1200$, I couldn't justify going for any other combo.
@iordanchis2437 You are right on the 4090. That Nitro +& 7800x3d together almost the same price as a 4090. That crazy. 😂
@@anthonybaker5199 Bro I just realized that 🤣🤣🤣 Holy!!!
@iordanchis2437 Trust me. You are going to love the Nitro+. Congratulations again 👏
will soon know what i get out of mine, just got a 7800x3d together with the 7900xtx, upgraded from a 5900x. I know I know, not needed, however, I am setting up a bunch of dockers and doingsecurity cameras and ai learning, so the 5900x is really ideal for that
and only other system i had laying about was a 6700k.... so I mean did i really have any other option (you know other than the 7950 LOL)
I have a 13700k @ 5.8ghz with a 7900xtx loving it so far :)
Great!
Thanks for the ultra wide numbers, not many reviewers test them, I'm now looking forward to wednesday when the game unlocks for us peasants.
I didn't want to pay this much for the game, but since it will be to do video and other things as well...
hi good experience! how about making another test bench 5600ryzen / 6600xt or 3060/6700xt for our mid builds friends?
I'd love to see Intel's side, because for my rig (i7-13700, 4x16GB 3200MTs and 7900 XTX) I run it around 80 FPS at 1080p on Ultra (no FSR), is it because I need to switch to DDR5? I still am very confused how things work and if it's even worth it..
In some review and gameplay I sow CPU on 37%-46% and GPU on 65-73% in first city and to me is a bit odd. Its strange to call CPU bottleneck when software report under 50% CPU load /5700X and 6800 2k high native ress/. Nice video 😊 thumbs up .
Its a bottleneck in terms of cache, ipc, frequency and ram, not core count 💪💪
Hi, is this on the reference card? I'd assume so from the 400W limit
Yes it is
great video as always, i have a 7900XTX paired with a 7950X and i'm getting just a little more on average (but i have a custom loop for GPU/GPU both tuned)
seems right to me :D
I have a 7900xt, paired with a 5800X3D. But with activatet FSR2, the Game is constantly crashing. With FSR2 off it works well, but not so great Performance. Any hints, what the problem may be? Drivers are up to date (23.09.1)
Any help would be much appreciated.
Hi sir thanks for the video on 7900xtx . Can you make a RAM oc guide for ddr4 please . Many people of AM4 platform would really benefit from ram oc in this game . I hv 5900x and 7900xtx and i avg 60fps
What metrics/Overlay program are you using in this video? THANKS ❤

Amd cards can't render correctly the sun when you're on the day side of a planey. Try look at the sun, light is there but no sun rendere. Happen on every planet. Rtx cards are fine. I have rx 6600 and i'm loving this game but there is this problem. Some reddit user are complaining about this glitch even on 7000 gpus. Not sure if older amd cards have this issue. Btw i wanna thak you to help me fixing some black screen issue, love your work :).
i ran at around 120fps on 1440p on my 7900xt.. however i noticed that the gpu hotspot temp was like 5 degrees higher than on any other game, scary that
Scary why? The gpu is juat being used differently
Mr.Fabio, I wanted to ask if I should get 7900xtx and 7600x or 7700x with 7900xt? I play games and do a lot of editing on 1440p
with high tier cards it makes no sense to get 6c/12t CPUs at all, even more if you edit a lot. Get the 7800X3D since it is pretty cheap now, if you want to focus more on the editing, get the 7950X
@@AncientGameplaysI see, Tysm ❤. Then I think i might wait for 7800xt so I have more options. Also, is msi x670e necessary or i can get msi b650 and save up some more for 7950x?
i would like to see the RX 7600 next
..so I recently paired a PowerColor 6700 XT with a 5600X.
I would love to see how a similar mid range system handles Starfield in 1080p & 1440p.
I can do that 💪💪
Do you have an AMD Radeon RX 7600 8G ? They're giving it as a gift with the card now. I wonder how it runs on it, if it makes sense to buy it. I kind of would like one more card
I do have, can test it I guess
I buy 7900 xtx stock which driver is best atm thx for answers thx
6950xt! It's a monster still.
Which kind of OV/UV settings did u use?
Oc mostly, presented on my XTX OC video
Will you benchmark the 7800 xt? I plan on getting that one and i trust your benchmarks buddy.
Yes, but need to buy it first
I'm playing star-field on R7900x3d, 6750xt, 165hz. I'm enjoying it.
great CPU!
Could you try testing the game if there's any actual difference in performance with 32GB/64GB RAM versus 128GB RAM? It seems Buildzoid noticed that this game is somewhat reliant on Memory Bandwidth. The faster the RAM the higher the performance in huge performance percentage jumps. I'm wondering if having more RAM capacity helps too since there's more RAM to dump the data into while the bandwidth is utilized constantly by the game. Nobody seems to want to test this at all.
Capacity? Not really. Frequency? Yes. Currently editing
Hey bro I see that when you change monitor settings from 1440p to 2160p the part that is greyed out actually changes on your part. Mine only stays on 2160p. I try changing to 1440p than it reverts back to 2160p when enabling Borderless Fullscreen. So basically mine always stays at 2160p even while it’s greyed out.
You don't understand what borderless fullscreen does. It uses your desktop resolution for the game.
If possible can you add for the 7900xtx undervolted results? Thanks for your tutorials!
that will bring lower results in CPU bottleneck scenarios, like 1080P/1440P in the cities
@@AncientGameplays thanks for the feedback! , this week I am getting my new machine, ryzen 7 7800x3d w/ gigabyte 7900xtx , can't wait to optimize the pc with your tips!
7900 xtx is a beast! I think I'd be playing this game on medium/low settings on my 6700xt and 5700x cpu.
possibly, the CPU is the weaker point there
On 1440p low-medium with fsr 75% u should play it just fine I think! I lobed my 6700xt! I just upgraded to 7900xtx but 6700xt is still a beast for its price
I only game at 1080p, I don't game heaps but go through phases where I game a lot. I could only afford about $300 usd so the 6700xt was perfect.@@charizard6969
Would adding more ram benefit this game or would a faster ram be better?
Im running 32GB at 3200mhz
Nah, 32gb is more than enough
Boas amigo, vais fazer alguma review das rx 7700/7800 xt?
Cumprimentos
Vou, logo que consigar pegar uma..
Got a 7900xt with 7800x3D and DDR5 6000 CL30
Never dips below 60 fps with FSR2 at 75% res at 4k
i find it is often better to run the game at 1800p and use some CAS sharpening than using FSR at 4k. the performance boost is bigger than quality FSR and it looks better to me
Wish to see with RX 7900 XT/7800XT/RX 4070 those are the cards that I'm wondering which to get.
7900 XT is better value than rtx 4070. Also more future proof knowing 4070 has 12gb of vram while 7900 xt has 20gb. It is just my opinion. After my 3060ti which had 8gb of vram is just not enough these days and pretty sure 12 gb vram will be obsolete in few years too
@@cerkute2644 It's hard co compere rtx 4070 and RX 7900 XT in value .In Poland RTX 4070 costs 3200 PLN while RX 7900 XT costs 4300 PLN :)
what kind of hotspot temps are you seeing on your gpu?
usually around 15-20C over core
did you happen to check reported "GPU memory usage" in hwinfo64 while and after playing starfield with 23.8.2 ?
memory leak?
@@AncientGameplays seems to be. edit : that's a definite YES, memory leak also appears in other games.
same with the new 23.9.1 , sadly games crash or hang after a while making my pc fans go nuts.....while temps are nothing extra ordinary. A very grave bug and AMD did not read my previous bug report or they dont give a damn as usual.
I've been playing Stanfield on my AMD R9 5900x system with sapphire 7900XT Nitro+ and the game has been running really smoothly Without a single crash as of yet.
I have 32GB DDR4 @ 3800Mhz dual rank sticks. My 5900x is optimized and is hitting 4900-5000Ghz constantly in this game.
My nitro+ 7900XT is under voted and +15 on the power limit it clocks in at 2875-3025Mhz in the game @1440p vram ram is ar 2700Mhz as well.
The game runs smooth and in Atlanta city I do notice if I have the fps cou.ter up the fps drops to 69-87 fps and the gpu is not maxing out so the 5900x even optimized is bottleneck in the city. In another world with lush forest the gpu maxes to 100% and ranging from 88-112fps.
I have for off and res scale to 100% and ultra settings except shadows I turned them to just high. I noticed you get a few more fps when cpu is bottlenecking a bit.
I have a 7900xtx and 7800x3d and I run the game on 1440p ultra native, but I get 73-80 fps. I don’t get 100 fps. What am I doing wrong?
Would be awesome if you could test 6950 XT in this game.
Jesus 398.0 Watt thats one hefty piece of hardware!
There's lots of high tier parts consuming more
In my case my 7900xtx OC +15% powedraw is reaching 110°c.. In stock mode + undervolt its still 102/103°c ! Is this the case for you too ? Or do i need to repast my gpu ?
no need to repaste and no such temperatures. You're having issues with the card or airflow...
@@AncientGameplays my 103°c stock is Ofc a junction temp, my case has 7 fans (4 intake & 3 push) cpu is like 60°c. it's seems to be inside the card itself :(
Will you get the 7700xt and 7800xt for benchmark?
Not yet, will have to buy..m
we're having a baby in January, as a gift to myself I am going to get a 3090 and upgrade my PC a bit, the sleepless nights need to be bearable in some way.
only if used, otherwise your better getting a 4070Ti
Interesting. I have a 7900 XTX with 7700X, so basically same setup. In 4K ultra at Atlantis you are getting almost 80fps, while I get 65 at 1440p ultra native. I see my gpu usage about 80-90% in that area. I undervolted and tweaked PBO setting for my CPU. Can this be the case why I lack that 10fps difference? Also, I am not using EXPO, games start crashing randomly, this can occur every hour or even not crash that evening at all, so I just set 5600Mhz speed for my ram. Should I use XMP maybe? What are your thoughts?
your issue is most likely the poorly tuned ram. Activate expo, increase the vsoc voltage to 1.3v and the RAM voltage to 1.38v. Done
@@AncientGameplays I will try. Thanks!
the CPU matters less than RAM speed in this game
@@marsovac 7700X is actually the highest clocked single core CPU in the 7000 series. I think it should perform better in most scenarios.
can you test ryzen 5000? I am running a 5700x with a 6950 xt and I feel like its time to maybe upgrade my cpu to a 7000
Yes, this game loves CPU and RAM, i believe its time to upgrade
Hi. in your opinion can starfield run smoothly with 5600x+ radeon 6800(non xt) with 16 gb ddr4 of ram with 3600mhz?
Humm, maybe at 1080P or 1440P with FSR2. The game still needs to be fixed
@@AncientGameplays i run in 1440p so i will not play native, okk that not a problen
I would like to see you run Starfield with an RX 6800.
How does the software show the 7700x, a 8 core cpu, as having 16 cores?
I gotta be missing something here, can someone please explain this for me?
Because it shows the cores and threads.
3700x 32gb of ram and a 7900XT.
The game seems to get stuck at times ? Also can't have SAM active on recent driver without getting an blue screen and then booting to BIOS with reset settings
Tried with XMP for memory and resize bar off = no ISSUE.... but XMP on or off but with Resize BAR on = Blue screen on next startup of the system
Update mobo bios and check system stability. Also, you have a big bottleneck there
Is it already possible to play starfield with hyper rx enabled+fsr3.0?
Nope, fsr3 wasn't implemented in the game yet
I do have a 7900XTX, but I'll be able to play tomorrow because I will be using the Game Pass version. It's nice to know that it runs well! Thanks, Fabio. Edit: By the way, I have a 5800XD; do you think it bottlenecks the 7900XTX too much? My plan is to hold on to AM4 for a few more years before jumping to AM5.
It does, pretty well in 99% of cases
I have the 5800X3D/7900XTX combo for 1440p Ultra native settings.I've been playing nonstop. It's been running extremely well. The CPU bottleneck only kicks in in super demanding areas. It usually stays between 60-75fps, never dipping below 60fps. Everywhere else it stays between 90-130fps.
You are going to have a lot of fun if you're a Bethesda fan. This hardware combo is one of the best for Starfield. Best gaming experience in a long time for me. I can't put it down
@@josh4434 I have a 5800x3d and 7900xt and it regularly drops to the 30's. What could be wrong here?
@@Cacao613ram speed and too high settings for the game
@@marsovac I'm using 3600 mhz cl18 ram
This reminds me of Cyberpunk and Spiderman, every youtuber pushing it, but no sign of anything interesting ever happening in the gameplay.
I mean, I was showing it in some areas just running around as the missions have a lot of talking as well
@@AncientGameplays Nothing personal, just something I have noticed in all 3 games with benchmarking etc, nothing seems to ever actually happen in any of the games, yet tons of youtubers repeatedly post videos about them🤔
In atlantis 1440p high i get 60+ fps with my rx 6800 oc 2400mhz 920v SAM ENABLED is that good ?
I believe so yes, check your cpu as well
