      Looking at your ships cockpit, your ship sucks. I got the Star Eagle early on in the game by becoming a Free Star Ranger and completing the missions. The Star Eagle may not be the best ship in the game, but it can be given to you early in the game, and it can be upgraded as you Add skill points to the right skills. But anyone at level 26 that doesn't have the Star Eagle is a sitting duck against other ships. The Shields are over 800!! You also increase shields by adding skill points to increase them. The Cargo capacity is over 2200. Add skill points to Starship Engineering and you can upgrade the Grave Drive, Reactor, fuel capacity, etc.. The Star Eagle, as it comes from the Star Rangers is WAY more powerful than the ship you used to fight the Starborn.

    This is literally a nod to not only New Game +, but the people who play Bethesda RPGs in general. The protagonist is literally you, in an alternate universe 300 years in the future where humanity has spread throughout the stars. Have you become a ruthless pirate who won’t think twice about killing innocent civilians to get what you want, or are you a movie hero fighting to make this universe a better place? Do you see the artifacts as a “game”, where whoever collects them all and ascends first wins, or do you feel like the Creators had intended for the Starborn to become keepers who help humanity find their way?

Not to mention more power. Became rude and hostile in conversations with NPCs and killed to get what I wanted. Just to get more power. Pretty interesting. I really love how Bethesda added NG+ to the story rather than just starting the game again like other NG+. One thing I would of liked to see is for the Artifacts to be in other places around the game world. Like in peoples private collections or maybe onboard a space ship and so on. Here is a thought I had.
    The Unity is actually an Eldritch horror outside of space-time and use's the artifacts to bring people to it and if they accept it eats a part of their soul in exchange for power.
    So each time a Starborn goes through the Unity the more of their soul and humanity is lost.
    I have my own term for this kind of entity, Soul-Amalgam.
    In one way or another two or more souls get combined/merged/eaten, etc.
    Needless to say these things are not mentally stable but they all have one thing in common... they want more souls so they can grow.

    I wish there was an ending that didn't feel so unsatisfying, abandoning your whole life and all of your loved ones for the pursuit of power.... Poopy ending in my opinion, where's the cutesy moment me and my crew reunite as thousand year old star born like the hunter and the emissary. it seems odd from writing point of view anyways. If you romance Sarah and save her she'll tell you she fears entering the unity because we might never see each other again only for that to be confirmed by the emissary lady, then suddenly later on she 180's and basically says nah one of us will eventually lets just do it.... Like I was all for settling down on a quaint little planet and having little homesteading farmer babies but hey.... Endless search for power and understanding it is I guess.... I feel like a lot of this would’ve been rectified by simply making the walk away option an ending itself, with its own achievement. If you really wanted to excel in your RPG making abilities you might even have romance options have a custom voice line where they explain how they chose not to enter as well, missed opportunity….

    I really do not like the ending. It forces you to “ascend” so to speak. Also your lover essentially says that no matter what, both of you will eventually leave. I find that stupid. I think that you should be able to totally reject the idea of leaving all your friends and universe behind, while also having a middle ground and really loving the unity. You should also be able to just leave the Unity and have it give you the choice of completing the main story there. I don’t know, man. Also we kind of learn to despise the Starborn because they are a massive antagonist, yet we are basically forced to join their cause…
    What could make it better is that you could get emotional at times when you talk to your friends I guess. Also, what the hell is the story add-on going to be about?? I sure hope it allows you to return to your old universe. Tell me what y’all think, I thought it was kind of cool at first, but once I realized you couldn’t return, I hated the idea of it completely.
    By the way, I REALLY like Starfield, I didn’t have amazing expectations, but whatever they once were, they have been surpassed. This is the only game that has made me motivated to 100% complete. Unfortunately that requires ascending a ton.

      It can be Sam, Sarah, Barrett or Andreja, it’s decided by whoever dies in that universe when the hunter attacks and who dies is decided by your affinity with them and whether you go to the eye or stay at the lodge. Your highest affinity character is injured on the eye and you can save them by leaving the lodge however your second highest affinity character will die at the lodge if you do. The only way to save them all is in a new universe where you have prior knowledge of the hunters attack and the hunter will even commend you for stopping his attack before it even happens however if you let him attack the lodge and do enough damage to him in the process he’ll actually give you his gun as a reward for fighting well but you can get his gun from killing him at the end and it’s pretty trash anyway. The emissaries gun is way better and you can get that the same way at the end. Also the emissary will drop his armor but the hunter won’t so killing the emissary is both the only way to get starborn armor without new game plus and it’s the only way to get a second starborn armor for a companion after getting yours from going through the unity

    The Emissary and the Hunter are both You, but just two different sides of you. You have always chosen one of two paths. Both of your own selves exist in your own mind (encoder/decoder of multiple universes), which they have to share. So each represents two different paths you always take in the end. Your choice becomes the universe your own mind has to encode and decode (and live in and with).
    Therefore, if you defeat them or persuade them, you can meld both halves of yourself together with the power given to you to chose to be one new unified being, and thus you become a Starborn!

      It’s literally shows in the story that the hunter is a version of keeper aquilus and the emissary can actually chance people depending on what universe you’re in. It’ll be whoever dies in that universe at the beginning of the story and who dies is decided by who you have the most affinity with and whether you go to the eye or stay at the lodge. After becoming starborn you can save them all in the other universes and in that case the emissary would just be who would have died. In my first playthrough it was Sam coe, for my friend it was Barrett and by the time I was on new game 5 or 6 it kept being andreja. To me I think that means that there’s multiple emissaries in the multiverse but only one hunter and that’s because the hunter actually hunts other versions of himself so that the only one that exists is the strongest, he even tells you to kill keeper aquilus in your universe if you side with him but you can convince the keeper to just run away and then lie to the hunter

    Starfield only has 1 ending. You might see different scenarios like a romance partner or whether you sided with UC SYSDEF or not, but the game (no matter how many times you go through it) always ends the exact same way. The game always ends with you going through the "Unity," and then you begin your NG+. Whatever you did in the previous game has not bearing on what happens in the next.

      I skipped, landed in the lodge and i showed them where all the artifacts are. You are basically skipping everything you already done, and only go to collect the artifacts which are already discovered for you to walk to and collect. At that point you basically go to do the end fight scene again. Only real difference is that you will be higher level and have collected more points for your skill tree(s) and temples.

    • @kzar99
      @kzar99 Год назад +1

      IF you choose to repeat main story (in NG+) you will notice some differences in dialogues and occasionally you get some new answers (labeled Starborn) due to your knowledge of how things will end. This applies to 99% of NG+. But in case you land on one of the ~10 possible alternates starts (example: all constellation members are you or are children) then you get a totally different game (but some of these starts are bugged). The most brutal one is the one where you are not allowed to save or use any items- meaning you rely only in your powers). these starts are the most funny for me to explore.

    • @kzar99
      @kzar99 Год назад +2

      IF you choose to skip main story, you tell constellation the locations of all artifacts and temples, you get to gather them, then go directly to the 2 ending missions (choose side and fight). Something like speed-running you can complete in 2-4 hours more or less. You get no companions, no faction quests, no nothing. Only artifacts and temples.

    If there's only 1 set of Artifacts in every universe... How do the Emmisary and the Hunter seem to know each other across multiple universes. There's no way, realistically speaking, that one of them jumps to a new universe and finds the other again who just so happens to remember everything abour their interactions in the universe that they got stuck in??? Is this some kind of hole in the plot? I know they keep their memories when they pass through Unity, but only ONE of them can get through. Idk. It doesn't make much sense. Anyway I guess I'm going to do a second playthrough acting as Kang the Conqueror lmao.

    • @Banjoboo
      @Banjoboo Год назад +3

      Yes and no.
      There are few things you need to consider.
      Going through the Unity changes stuff up. Remember you can meet yourself sometimes, or have Sarah as a plant. Canonically, every Hunter/Emissary you meet (especially in the 1st playthrough) have gone through the Unity so many times, albeit the Hunter more (due to him having max armor). They know through going into it that most times, the Hunter wins, but sometimes the Emissary wins. In your playthrough, the Hunter has never lost AND the Emissary have never lost. Because they come from infinite timelines. That version is Hunter after coming off a 100+ win streak and the Emissary coming off a 20+ win streak. Knowing of the unity mechanic, it is implied that they know that rules because they've done this so many times.
      Everytime you find a Starborn, that is their version of coming off a winstreak. But a winstreak isn't as impressive in the context of infinite. There are infinite winners, but even more infinite losers.

    • @Banjoboo
      @Banjoboo Год назад +5

      It just so happens in this playthrough, the Rook (player character) survives. This is the 1st iteration that the Hunter/Emissary has seen it. Normally, the rook goes through the game, gets powers, and dies when the hunter attacks. Various iterations of who gets extra pissy about it.
      Also it is to be given, that your surviving companion(s) all come with you into Unity.
      So you *could* think that all the Starborn you fight in this game are just various versions of Sam, Cora, Barrett, Sarah, Andreja, and Keeper. The rook never really became one, until now.
