I'm perplexed as to why 21 people gave this a thumbs down? Pretty solid late 80s performance in an epic setting???
BUT... As Of THIS Comment, Over 420 "Thumbs Up"..! -= ( ~ );} =-
......Millennials???
Because this band was terrible.
It’s baffling how people just overlook the hair raisingly bad vocals and harmonies.
Oh to be 18 again and at Red Rocks ! Love that place ;-)
Thank you! This was my 21st birthday. We danced in the 21st row!
I am truly blessed to have seen this band they are definitely the best at what they do there will never be anything that compares We miss u jerry
The Drums off the rocks were cosmic and when drums and space are great the rest of the show was totally fantastic!
Yes ! Yes ! Yes ! Performances like this were the gems the kept us searchin for the sound.......... Great to see Jerry and Bobby so lively and proffecient!! Great show! Thanks for sharing!
I was here. My first and only GD show. About to start my senior year of high school at Cheyenne Mtn. I went along with some of my musician friends who swore this was the best band ever. I was never a fan. I remember the keyboard player being the only standout musician. The vocal harmonies were so out of tune I had to take several breaks and leave because I was getting nauseous from it. Lol. Great fun if you dig it, but I was often baffled by what the crowd was cheering so hard for.
Oh well. It’s history now. Peace.
One of my faves! Jerry, Brent, and Bobby's vocals reach moments of pure ecstasy.
I was at this concert. First time seeing the Dead live. Second time Boulder.
I was 10th row center. I have a master analog cassette of this show.
One of the best Ship of Fools you will hear....LEGEND!
A fine version for sure but check out 4-7-87 Brendan Byrnes Ship Of Fools. Great show all around but the best version I personally saw.
Absolutely! Killer. One of their best. ⚡️
You said it my friend! Jerry at his very best!!🌹
The crowd swells on this one are amazing and Jerry is so emotive.
GR8 Job Brother Tobin..! (i WAS there TOO!) Deb n' i are watching now... 1st time in over 3 decades for me..~!~) -= ;) =-
I remember this three night run - it was awesome. Didn't have tix for one night and was chased by Mounties climbing up the ravine but found paradise dancing in the desert...
WOW that's great Bobby nail's masterpiece
my only dead rocks shows. probably saw 50 shows in 87 those were the days. now lookin back we saw some epic shows in the 80s. but the 87 shows are burned in my soul.. thats my dead for sure....
So very grateful for all your hard work Kevin thank you so much !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I was lucky enough to be at 7 Red Rocks shows. 2 trips to see the Grateful Dead and 1 to see Furthur
This show is my first ever at the Rocks so it hit a nerve
I caught these shows. Nice to see them again. Thanks to everyone involved.
we all need a little these guys
bobby sound tremendous in this mix, such twang and " she's more of a rollercoaster than the train i used to know"
Me and my friend snuck into this show via a hole in the rocks under the stage that dumped you back stage. This was after hiding under blankets in the back of a truck to get into the park while hitchhiking from the Chief Hosa campground
Saw the dead at the rock's in 82.A special place for the dead and there fans.
Hey Kevin: an offering on this special day of 75 years of Jerry ... JGB 11-17-81. Happy! Peace!
Thanks for this!
fun fun fun night not lost yet! Boy i loved those brain wave drum solos at 1'30'40- 140!!!!/ They Made the Red Rocks Rock for sure! The view being much much much different now! But still spectacular and grand!
2018!!!! BusnBug Forever!

Thank you Kevin for keeping the songs to fill the air!🌏✌️⚡️🌞💯♥️🤯🤪😜
Most excellent! Thank you and also for your detailed notes. I wished I was there.
Great vocal harmonies between weir and garcia during masterpeace
Tons of steel- Jerry is smiling at your cameraman. How cool. Thank you
That let it grow is really nice
Phil Lesh answering a girl asking Jerry if he was looking right at her, Phil; "He can't even see me!", Jerry; "Oh! There are people out there?"
Oh yes!!! Digging in now... Many thanks!!!
Every red rocks show I have seen them it’s been something special my first was 79
Thanks!
Jerry loving the ship of fools
thank you
oh ya kev thanks brother✌⚡💀
Ahhhh, tripped out at that show (surprise). It was so hot so Cold Rain & Snow was awesome. Camped up in mountains. Hitchhiked rides....
All Along the Watchtower was awesome! Loved hearing their rendition of it
cool! never heard Tons of Steel before! cool ass tune!
You gotta love it when they'd come out firing with a "Cold Rain and Snow."
I believe this evening was the night they started set 2 (this) after we’d sweated a 90 DAY drought!! And on que as they started to sing, drops began to fall! It doesn’t get better than that!!
Chills!
Today is Sunday January 24th , just finished the new Attack on Titan episode and ate some Shrooms and now I'm here . Feels great .
This is the ones I went to in Colorado plus more 3 nights they played every night I would only go one night. it is about one mile or more above sea level there. I also remember I went with two young ladies during spring break from college and went to Arizona to see them and the day after drove to Los Vegas to see them there and a guy said he had tickets at the same price as normal and we bought them and thanked him for his loving-kindness.
As a college student this sounds almost inconceivable to do nowadays
Good job with the camera work. Probably a hand held, but you knew when to focus on the right player. Obviously knew the music. Don't think a shot was missed.
Who remembers the "Fire On the Mountain" on the final night when the fire was burning up on the hill?! And heading up to Telluride it came on the radio that a bunch of tickets had been released when we had none! Great tour ending at Calaveras. Bobby wanted a "Jack Straw" opener but Phil nixed it and it was "Box of Rain". Bobby got pissed and all red-faced but smoked the following "Jack Straw". Those Calaveras shows were off the hook but it was SO hot! Tempe was OK but the security was a drag. Ah such memories!
No but different show at Ventura Beach, fire (re) ignited in the hills around us as they were playing Fire on the Mountain.
Jim Foxworthy I do!!!
And who remembers the Fire on the Mnt. at Portland Civic center as Mount St. Helens erupted ?
I was there on the mountain that night and all 3 nights. No tickets but man you could hear every cymbal crash. My first shows at Red Rocks. The Fire on the Mountain was us trying to stay warm!!! As I recall there were a few fires that night on the mountain. We didn't realize summer nights could be so cold
Dude around 11mins, Weir comes out HARD and so fucking cheezy for the ladies on Rooster!! Then Garcia takes off and its just sooooooo kick ass!!!!
Samson and Delilah!!!
The real deal
Jerry Saves{~}:=}
wowwowowowowow
t'was in the way back of a pickup truck all the way from Minneapolis for these shows...but man did they scorch! Had to get back for work after, so missed Telluride but I recall really REALLY wanting to blow work off (yet again) and go. Lost jobs, girlfriends and whatever frivolous flotsam when the urge beckoned...
Phil was fatter than Jerry!! LOL
thicc
Most Wawsasu. Per fecto
