Nice wlk through, thanks! Batavia was the first MD site that worked for us in the Hyundai Ioniq 5 after lots of problems early on, so it's a familiar and fondly recalled site. Hope your return journey to Chicago was safe and uneventful!
Those 800 volts EVs actually do work. However, the Lucid can only get 44kws, while the Kia and Hyundai now get up to 98kws. Still far from the blazing fast speeds, but at least they can charge on magic docks. Hopefully Tesla will allow higher speeds in the future.
That's great to know! I've seen old videos that Ionic 5s were having troubles with the magic dock. Wondering if the software updates are enabling Ionic 5 now
Every time I drive by a Tesla Supercharger location it's only like three or four Tesla's there or less anyway so whenever I pull up my Mackie to it it doesn't matter but yeah they do need a longer cord
Need longer cords. I don’t see the benefit of the Magicdock unless the parking and cord issues are fixed. Tesla was short sighted when they deployed this.
By the way, the Tesla Magic Docks V3 are now providing the full 500 AMPs to none Tesla's. Just thought I mentioned it in case you wanted to make another video with the improved charging.
The only issue that I see is that you are talking 2 charging spots. If nobody is charging then it’s cool but if you are road-tripping and there is only spot the you won’t be able to charge. I saw you addressed my observation. Hopefully Tesla make superchargers with longer chargers or non Tesla car manufacturers move their charge ports to the same as teslas so this is not an issue in the future.
The governments (taxpayers) pushed the selling of EVs. But these car technology isn’t appropriate for cold states , big states and poor states. And megacities where most of the people hasn’t a chance to charge at home. Maybe there will be a market of 5% for EV. But there will be no transformation of traffic. In Brazil, Indonesia , India, South Africa, Russia , North African countries like Egypt , Tunesia . … the EVs are an idea . But not for the people who live there .
Thanks for the great demo…. Glad to see it in the Ford app.
Thanks for the demo. Great to meet you at Schenectady.
Likewise, my pleasure!

You had to park so so close due to the short cables, did you scrape the bottom of the bumper on the cement pad?
Nope! I just wish there wasn't a median to the right of the car, otherwise I would have parked there

totally agree on that. I would only use the superchargers if it isnt full (unless im down to 3% and its the only charger around)
