She said she uses a local potter's kiln. A kiln in an apartment would be pretty dangerous! For me, I reached out to a community center and they fire my pieces. But there's a kiln share website that can help you find kilns near you.
Definitely would need a kiln to make it food safe and with this kind of clay. She said she fires it at someone else's studio. If you're using air dry clay just for fun, you don't need a kiln, but it won't be food safe.
Did you say you throw your water in the trash? There are easier ways to recycle your water and used clay slip without putting plastic bags of water into the landfils.
Ah please share! Would love to learn more about what you suggest. I buy frozen fruit for smoothies and such and they come in plastic bags. I only use a few ounces of water at a time when i throw on my mini wheel and I always put the slip in those frozen fruit bags that I save up. I am extremely mindful of it but would love for you to share other options.
Well I never heard anyone say kil, n is clearly pronounced and I checked it confirmed it before replying… I guess different pronunciation around the world
I’ve taken a few classes and watched probably 100+ pottery videos and have never heard anyone say “kil” instead of “kiln.” It used to be pronounced “kil” but that was prior to the 1900s when “kiln” became the common pronunciation. So yeah, it is pronounced “kilN.”
Hey, I’m just trying to start what hung your videos ♥️🥹 Can you help me with the type of clay and where to buy it. It seems that there’s lots of names for clay 🤧🫠
There's lots of types of clay as well! If you're trying to have food safe clay, then look for clay that is kilned at cone 5 or 6. That's typically the standard. If you're just trying it out or starting, and you don't care about eating out of it, I'd suggest getting air dry clay from an art store!
Would love to see your cleanup process / routine!
Please make another video that details your cleaning process please :) Thank you!
Such a great video! Thank you for sharing ☺️💕
Thank you so much for sharing what is tool for making ceramic.
You've gotten me interested in ceramics! Awsome video
I enjoyed watching this as I just got into my clay journey this year. I would love a part 2!
Yay!! so excited for you. What else do you want to see?
You should look into using a bucket system for the water.
Does it has a side effects when exposed to clay ? I have an allergy with dust but i want to start this kind of hobby
I wanna do this just so I can make pots for my plants 😅
This was so so so helpful, thank you!!!!!
Which clays should I work with if I wanna use an oven?
What is a good way to fire the finished pieces? Do have a kiln in your apartment as well?!

How do you fire your work?
She said she uses a local potter's kiln. Actually learning how to use a kiln is a super tricky skill.
Can you post more video plissss😉😉😉❤️☺️
Why does the clay need to be on a porous surface?
❤
You can put your waste water in a water gallon so you can dump it in the trash. Instead of using trash bags
no kiln is necessary?

just here to tell you, you're cute and have a lovely smile. Have a nice day!
How to male clay?
Typically you buy it. You can theoretically make it out of dirt but it depends a lot on where you are and what you have available.

She got more hair on her arms than I got on my head. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
A kiln is pronounced, kil, as the "N" is silent. Please pronounce it correctly, as you lose credibility if you don't know the correct name.

Wow, you sound like a ton of fun.
It's not as serious as you think it is I promise, so relax
the n is not silent, her credibility hasn’t been lost…but someone’s has.
