Love your channel! Most useful information on you tube. ... I stopped doing leg extensions years ago when I heard they were bad for my knees. I later developed knee pain and knee injuries. After knee surgery, I found that light leg extensions greatly reduced my pain and discomfort. I've been doing leg extensions now along with my regular leg and hip exercises. My knees haven't felt this strong and pain free in years! I will continue to do leg extensions and get them as strong and pain free as possible. ....
I am 50 days post ACL Operation, I tried leg extensions after ACL(Prone leg hanging) then I got pain in my knee for 5 days.. then I stopped leg extensions.
I'm after acl reconstruction, but, when i did leg quad extension, i felt a pain in my knee. In literature is talking about shouldn't make a leg extension also.
Thank you so much for the video. I am at around 10 months after the surgery but I am still finding it difficult to achieve symmetry probably for the same reason. I find it hard to do leg extension still as my quads are not getting stronger with other exercises.
This video is really helpful, thank you for breaking down the mechanics. I lived with a detached left ACL for about 7 years (I am a runner and don’t play pivoting sports, and multiple doctors recommended not addressing it). I had a labrum tear in my right hip last year (also had impingement). Do you think my right hip injury could have been caused by over compensation of my weak left knee?
So I was given 0 PT so I’m really lost still, it’s been since August of last year and I’m still not healed… but a few questions….. when I’m Standing up in one position my weight basically makes my leg stiff and not able to pick it up… secondly I can walk up stairs but not downstairs…. And when I’m trying to lift my leg a part still hurts but I can still lift it different ways… any advice would greatly be appreciated thanks

Also had far too many arguments with younger and older PT about the leg extension machine. You all are great!!
You guys are my absolute favorite youtube channel!
Thank you!
Thank you!! 👏 I’ve had so many convos with older PTs about the rest of the leg compensating for lack of extension and no one would listen
One of the bests videos in youtoube about this topic

What exercises did you end up doing to regain knee/leg strength?
Thank you very much. This was very informative
ATG split squat has a horizontal component.

Can I also train my Leg like that with a torn ACL to build up strength before the surgery?
Cumpli 6 meses de operado del lca de la rodilla izquierda, pero no me siento capas de hacer esos brincos con una sola pierna,
Please make a video on whether we should hyperextend our knee or just 0 deg of knee extension is good to go?
I too have the same questions.
Leg extensions are functional, hence why the greatest athletes in the world use it: Usain Bolt and Cristiano Ronaldo.
Awesome!
I have a question.
