NORTHERN SLOVAKIA | High Tatras, Bardejov and Spis Castle Road Trip

Slovakia is such a beautiful country in Europe. If you are planning a nice vacation in Eastern Europe, and are wondering what to do in Eastern Europe, or you are just looking for the best Europe travel ideas, this video is for you. Slovakia is definitely a nice place to see in Eastern Europe.
Northern Slovakia features numerous World heritage sites and a Slovakia tour in this part of the world will take you to some of the nicest places in Eastern Europe. The very beautiful nature of the High Tatras, or Vysoke tatry, can be seen in a most beautiful nature walk. Orava Castle and Spiš Castle are among the nicest castles in Eastern Europe and the Wooden Church in Hervatov is an absolutely amazing church to see in Europe. Equally impressive is the medieval town of Bardejov, truly a nice place to see in Eastern Europe and one of the historic sites in Eastern Europe that you need to see.
In today's video, I will take you on an amazing tour of Slovakia through Northern Slovakia for seven of the best Europe travel ideas. We will visit Vlkolínec, a beautiful village in Slovakia surrounded by beautiful scenery in Europe. From there, we will travel to Orava Castle, the location for the very first Dracula movie ever filmed, Nosferatu, and one of my favorite castles in Eastern Europe. From Orava Castle, we will make our way to the High Tatras, the beautiful mountains in Eastern Europe. From there we visit the beautiful wooden church of Hervatov and the impressive Open air museum of Svidnik, visit the town center of Bardejov, and the famous Spiš Castle - some of the nicest places to visit in Europe!

Thanks for a really great video - so informative and enjoyable. The drone footage is fantastic (as usual) and fantastic for showcasing the beautiful countryside and magnificant castles. The close ups of the flowers, birds and insects just lovely too. The medieval town square of Bardejov reminded me of Tallinn - especially the old town hall in the middle of the large square . I really can't wait to pack my bags and visit Slovakia!

Thank you Janus for this great video. All places are really worth visiting. Nice village with traditional houses. Amazing castle. The dracula castle doesn't look as scary as it's name:) The High Tatras with the enchanting blue lake and stunning view, that it's not any less beautiful than in Swiss Alp. I really enjoyed watching this long video multiple times, very impressive, informative and cinematic with brilliant drone shots ! The lovely music make this video like a real film 😍 The Outro with the photos are so cool. My love for Slovakia is getting bigger and bigger!!! Slovakia has sooo many beautiful places to explore. Did you visit all these in one day tour?

Orava Castle is the most beautiful castle in the world, in a beautiful environment and with nice people who live there. It's worth going there and seeing it for yourself.

@@januslog Quick question. I’ve just spent five weeks in Australia without having to convert any currency. Touchless payments are everywhere. Am I going to need a supply of euros to get through Slovakia?
@@chrispaulus4491Maybe a little late but you will need cash in some places. Especially im villages and maybe in the castles. But I think in Bratislava,Košice and High Tatras you will be fine.

J, you know how I feel about your Switzerland work,but this by far is your best yet. How interesting and so informative. This is something that everyone who is planning to travel should watch. Luckily you tracked down the lady to let you in the church. I know you couldn't find her in the past. I would go to the country just to visit this small chapel. Geographicall center of Europe is in Slovakia.
Thank you for watching. It’s actually quite difficult to find a unified opinion on this. When researching I found every organization with authority having different regional maps for Europe. And I understand several countries claim being the geographic center of Europe. But none of this takes away from the beauty of Slovakia 🇸🇰😊

How does Dracula get toSlovakia? Isn’t he supposed to live in Transsylvania? Or does he have a sommerhouse in the Tatras?
Haha, good question Susan. He must have a summer house in the Tatras 😂. I guess the location scouts for Nosferatu located him there 😂
Of course, Orava Castle is not Dracula's, but it was used by filmmakers for this purpose
not Eastern Europe, Central such as Austria, Czech rep., Poland, Germany, Hungary,.. ! anyway nice video again.

Slovakia is in Central Europe.
Slovakia (also Czechia) is geographically Central Europe, the eastern Europe is only Ukraine, the neighbouring country of Slovakia. Slovakia, then still Czechoslovakia, was part of the Eastern Bloc of the Soviet Union after World War II, along with the Polish Baltic States, the Balkans and half of Germany, including half of Berlin. Slovakia was never eastern Europe if at most part of the Eastern Bloc of the USSR but still geographically it was and is central Europe.

It’s not eastern politically, nor geographically, STOP using 1945-1989 terminology people, please!

I agree, I should have said Eastern Central Europe. Having said that, I think people in Ohio would shrug off being placed on the East coast while I’m surprised to learn that being part of Eastern Europe seems to somehow be a bad thing for many people.
