@@got2bjosh You're misinterpreting his words. His "loss of motivation" was just temporary mental fatique that every player experiences in their career, often repeatedly. It only lasted for a couple of months. He said the wrist injury came when he was already fired up again, eager to compete. His doctors said the injury was a result of too much strain in his playing and practicing.
Finally, took long enough for the upload. For this match, Ben was at 45% return points won. As such, he won in straight sets. In the high 30th percentile is where Ben needs to be to reach top 10 & the 40th percentile is where he needs to be to win a Slam. No way around the historical data.
Theim was top 5 and won the US Open in toughest era since 70s and 80s. Congrats to a former champ on exemplary career.
The streets will never forget 2021 US Open Dominic Thiem
Boo stop with spoilers in thumbnails
Thiem is a shadow of his former self.
Well, he has twice the age of the kid
@@ziggy7506 Not even close. He's only 30.
R u all dumb? His wrist injury was so bad that he ended his Carrere at the end of the season
It's obvious, we all know that.
That’s called life bud. You think you’re some kind of genius for acknowledging the downfall of an athlete’s career with time?
We trust you Domi, go ahead.
After the wrist injury, Thiem went from prince of clay to cant even win 1st round
Teem said he lost motivation after winning USO then the injuries followed soon after. It's a mental game. Once that goes, the body will too.

Anyone who been watching nows he cant break a serve for shot this year. He started getting better last week but before that it was terrible
Ben finally has his forehand back. Its over 🎉
It’s not the forehand that’s the problem. It’s that utterly *putrid* backhand.
@@hitthurdeaux no the backhand can do what is needed even though it doesn't look aesthetically pleasing fundamentally it is sound.
His backhand is one of the best on tour
It's such a pity. At Thiem's peak, Shelton wouldn't have had a chance. Please come back, Dominic.
Because Shelton isn’t at his peak. Cope harder
