Yokes block our view of the instruments and are not as natural as a stick which is like holding the aircraft from above and putting it where we want it. It's better than a side stick because either hand can be used. I sprained my left wrist once on a trip and it would have been very difficult to get home if I was flying a side stick. During training on the DHC8(12000 hrs experience) when executing a dead engine low level turn into the critical engine in instrument conditions, the yoke is almost straight up and down blocking the view of the flight instruments. IMHO, All aircraft should have center sticks.
