It really is very easy to do. You have three screws to mount the plate to the slide. There are two screws to mount the red dot to the plate. THE IMPORTANT PART is you have to have the Correct plate for your Red Dot. From Springfield you can order different plates for different Red Dots. The Slide comes with a plate that is Compatible with: HEX Wasp J-Point Leupold DeltaPoint Leupold DeltaPoint Pro Redfield Accelerator Shield RMS Shield RMSc Shield SMSc SIG Romeo Zero Crimson Trace 1500 Also very important is that you degrease everything and use Blue Locktite on the screws and torque them to recommended specs. I got the Bushnell RXS 250 that mounts to the included plate. Hope this helps.

You could call them to be sure.
You could have your slide milled for probably $200.
Look on line for a place that does it.
