Just picked up an OSP slide/barrel/Crimson Trace RDS for my 5 " XD. The Crimson Trace zeroed just fine, so far 250 rounds through it and everything is good. RDS manufacturers should just adopt the RMR cut and quit messing around with all theese funky footprints. Different plates are only $25. Kudos for Springfield Armory for giving us this option of just purchasing the OSP slide, us Cali boys don't have the option to buy all those new optic ready pistols. Glock needs to take note of this option.
Well, for what I have been looking at, some manufacturers are slowly starting to favor the RMR cut, but not all of them. I liked this upper so much, I went ahead and got a new pistol and put this upper on it!! Video coming up, with the Red Dot on it too
If I want to put on a Holosun 507 on mine do I need to buy the RMR plate that Springfield sells on their website? Is that plate compatible with this XD?
@@evoben24 Honestly, I'm not familiar with the 507 myself, but Springfield sells three different plates, one comes with the slide, the other two you have to buy from them. Give them a call, they are very willing to help and they have the info you need!!
@@7331warrior My pleasure, I don't want you to find out the hard way!! But... They do make a complete OSP upper that allows you to convert your .40 into a 9mm OSP
Can we please have one for the Sub-Compact version?
That would be great, but I think they're concentrating on the Hellcat for the Micro Compact line now.
Just ordered mine , early father's day gift to myself can't wait to try it out
You will love the versatility of this setup!!

Does the Optic mounting plate match the Holosun footprint?
Found the answer...for Trijicon/Holosun footprint, you'll need XD5073 Mounting Plate (Sold separately)
I was about to say just that...
What are the screw drivers to take it out to add the optic!
We used the Real Avid Kit, I would get one of those, it has EVERYTHING you need!! I don't remember now, this was so long ago.
@@yrsuedcan you link me it bro?
@@dmining65 I can't put links here, RUclips doesn't like it
Go to RealAvid Dot Com
Go to the search Bar and put SMART DRIVE
You will find it there!!
whats the bit to use?@@yrsued
@@dmining65 I don't remember, I didn't check, I pulled bits until I found one that fit, that is how I normally use these Driver kits
does the .40 cal stock barrel fit into the OSP slide?
No, the hood is wider on the .40 barrel, I don't have one to test it, but I'm 99% sure of that!!
@@yrsued sounds good, thank you for the response.

Does it fit the XD40 barrel and spring guide?
No, this is only 9mm. They do make a complete 9mm upper to replace .40 Uppers. I don't see Springfield making anything in .40 S&W.
You will be lucky to get 1200' per sec out of that ammo
I will test it, but velocities listed on boxes are optimistic at best…
