I love that you went to tampah beach! Excellent footage, It gives you a good picture of the south, except for the prices. 69$ is far from dirt cheap. If you opt for a homestay and slightly bargain, you'll be set up with a room, breakfast, dinner and a scooter for 10-15$, minus the luxury, however you'll have more local interaction and will be able to see how the family goes about their day to day lives if that's something you might be interested in.
Yeah, I usually stay at homestays, but Tim Lo was with me and he made me stay at a few fancier places than I'd normally go to. He's a little bit pickey about the beds he's willing to sleep in. I, on the other hand, could sleep on a hammock on the beach. ( :

Hahaha, you know what's funny? A producer I worked with on the first episode told me I should remove the "goofy" line from the opening sequence and then my cousin told me the same thing a few months ago. I guess I'll need to remove that part for season 2 opener, lol.

What makes your videos stand out from the rest, apart from your catchy intro and laid back/unpretentious presenting style is the detail you provide. Such as the name of the taxi cab company you used/recommended and the cost of the fare. As someone who is watching this because they are planning/researching to visit, these are the kind of details that are really useful to know.
You mentioned the cost of the sailings, but to go even further, it would be cool to know what time you caught the sailing and if there are sailings all day or whether they are only in the morning for example. I'd be interested in working with you to grow your channel. Will connect. Sally

beautiful place to visit, its already on top of the my list, but honestly ur prices are far far from dirt cheap, I spent almost 300 bucks to spend 2 weeks in myanmar and u are telling me for just 4 days u spent 191 bucks, im a backpacker if i plan to travel around for a few months, I would rather spend less in lodging. thanks for sharing anyways, awesome video

We are currently staying in Lombok and spend around 12€ per day per person. Including accomodation (look for the homestays), 3 meals (go to local Warungs), fruitshakes, scooter rent, parking tickets at the beaches. Transfer from Gili Air to Kuta Lombok was 17€ for two persons. You have to look for good deals and engage in a few friendly discussions ;)

I don't usually plan anything. If a friend is telling me they are going on a vacation, I'll just tag along and have them film me every once in a while haha. Or sometimes I just fly randomly some place, like I did in Honduras.

Great video! But little correction, Lombok Island named after a word from Sasak Tribe, "Lumbuk" which means "Straight" or "Honest"....because we have long beach shore from east to west and our people are friendly and honest (typical of villager). So Lombok NOT named as Chilli

Lombok means chili is Boso Jowo (Javanese), but the correct meaning of Lombok meaning is straight, that is as Lombok language
the name Lombok is actually derived it which literally means straight (ahead). but more tourists said that the name actually means chili as it means so in bahasa.

The only issue with any of this is that things change so quickly in indo. One year a pub club or accommodation can be great. Next year they are gone or are nowhere near as popular or good. Dont go to Bali or any outer islands expecting any of these places to still be around. They could be but there have probably been better nicer places replacing them. And prices change. 30 years ago you could get amazing accommodation for $5 a night. Every year I go back things have got more expensive and the place has changed.

i'm from mataram lombok, all the prices is for foreigners, for usa locals is much cheaper, for ex fish $3 but for locals only $1.2-$1.8,,

What the locals told me is that all the fast boats charge about the same price no matter where you leave from. I'd just go with whatever port is nearest to you so you don't spend a ton on taxis or drivers.
Fly to Lombok airport from Jakarta would be the easiest
Is Lombok good for families with young kids?
Obviously, I did not travel with kids, so I can't say from personal experience, but the couple at 4:51 were there with their kids from Quebec, Canada and they seemed to love it and didn't mention any issues.
