I just returned a week ago from Gili Islands and already missing. Great place for all ages, I stayed on Trawangan but visited all three islands. I stayed for two weeks and never got bored, want to say that locals are very nice and friendly people, very easy to communicate, everyone speaks English. What can I say, miss you Gili Island!!!

Thanks! I know it's tough to save money to travel, but it's worth it. One of the largest expenses is airfare. I use a credit card to buy everything I normally buy (groceries, gas, etc.) and then pay it off the next day with cash. I get a ton of reward miles that way. I flew to Thailand for free using my reward miles. If you're not already doing that, you should look into it. Just don't buy anything on the credit card if you don't have the cash to pay it off the next day. ( :

Nice video. I leaved 9 month on Gili T. I know some of the locals in your vlog specially the band in Sama Sama. But you should try the north of the island, it's a bit more quiet and enjoyable during day time.

I never been to Gili Islands ... my friends said it's so good to escape to Gili. I had chance to go there last year but worry about the harbor/port on the beach, is that possible for elderly or handicap/wheelchair to visit ???

They don't have a website. It's just the local guys at the main dock. They have a little booth. You just have to walk up to them in person to book it.
Add $5 -$10 to these prices. Lucky to get a massage for under $15 from what I found. Not sure how you found a Nasi Goreng from a beach restaurant for under $3 Food is more expensive than mainland prices. Make sure you lock your hire bike or they will steal it, make you pay $150, wait till you leave and recirculate it. The only herbs and spices that are not stale or fake, are the Bintangs and Mushies.

High season is during the months of July and August, during Easter Holidays, and Christmas / New Year (December till 1st week of January). This is the time Bali is the busiest. However, for many reasons, best time to come to Bali is April, May, June and September, just before and just after high season.
What u should know about weather seasons in Indonesia:
Sept - April = Wet season (rainy), raining almost every day
April - Sept = Dry season (Hot), but beautiful sunset/sunrise & clearly water

They sell them in stands on the beach :)
$33/nt is dirt cheap? I couldn't afford to be a backpacker. Glad I did it in the 90's when $3/nt hut on the beach was dirt cheap on Koh Samui Thailand even.

Where was the beach party exactly please? And is it every day? Great video!!
I believe it's everyday. It was right on the main strip. You can't miss it. But they had some bad earthquakes last year and some resorts there were destroyed, so you might want to call ahead and see if they have rebuilt yet, because they were without power for quite some time.

I wish I had tried the magic mushrooms when I was there. At the time I was afraid of being thrown in an Indonesian prison but after reading about it there's no chance of that happening there....Ok, LITTLE chance.

I tried the magic mushroom in an omelette at toba lake north sumatera, i cant stop smiling and sleep like a pig after swimming.
